Blue Blue Eyes

He was watching the fireworks light up the night sky from her blue blue eyes. And her blue blue eyes lit up his world.

He could vaguely hear Cat's squeals and Andre blowing a plastic horn. Rex was shouting and Robbie asked him to stop being so loud. While Tori laughed at Trina's obnoxious singing.

But they didn't matter to him. At least not in that moment.

Not when this beautiful girl with her blue blue eyes was holding onto him tight with the widest grin on her face and her head tilted upwards to watch the display of lights and sounds. Not when the girl he loved more than anything else in this world was standing right in front of him as they welcomed the new year with their friends. Not when all he was capable of seeing in that moment was her. And her blue blue eyes.

Maybe it was the firework display. Maybe it was the cheery atmosphere. Maybe it was the joy and the hope the start of the year was bringing him. Or maybe it was the look in her blue blue eyes.

"Marry me." He said it so softly he wasn't sure if she heard it.

But she turned to him with a still dazed but confused look on her face and her blue blue eyes so he figured she heard something.

"Marry me." He said it again. Louder this time.

And her mouth opened slightly. She stared at him with her blue blue eyes for what felt like hours with an unreadable expression on her face.

Then she pushed his shoulder. Hard.

"You idiot! You're so cliche!"

He laughed and all their friends turned to them. But they didn't notice.

"Jeez, I'm sorry, babe!" He held his two hands up as if in surrender with a big smile.

But that smile was soon smothered by a hungry kiss from who he hoped was now his fiancée.

"Where's my ring?" she asked when she pulled away with her pale hands on his coffee-colored face. And her blue blue eyes on his brown.

He laughed some more. Because he was happy. Jade made him happy.

"Is that a yes?" There was a teasing tone to his voice. It made her scowl.

"Where's. My. Ring." Her face was so close and she smelled so nice and she looked absolutely beautiful with the lights from the fireworks hitting her face and her blue blue eyes.

"I don't have it," he said simply because it was the truth. He had asked her on impulse.

"You what? Beck! You don't propose to a girl without a ring!"

The gasps and murmurs from their friends made him laugh even more.

"Quit laughing!" He kissed her to shut her up. Worked every time.

"I don't have it because I wasn't planning on it tonight."

He was looking at her and he could already see the future he wanted them to have.

"Well I'm not agreeing to this until I get my ring."

"I'll get you one in the morning, babe. I promise."

He smiled at her. The smile he saved only for her. And she smiled back. The smile she saved only for him.

In her blue blue eyes he saw. She could already see the future she wanted them to have. The same future he wanted them to have.

"I love you, Mrs. Oliver."

"I haven't said yes yet."

"But you will."

"Ring first."

"Of course."

And her smile reached her blue blue eyes. And his brown.
