No beta, all mistakes are mine and mine alone

Idea for this came to me on the bus as did a good portion of its creation

I own nothing so please don't sue me

As the Devil Took Hold

Dean called for him, pulled on his arm, begged for him to move, to be anywhere but here.

Sam paid no attention to his brother, his mind was elsewhere.

He was entranced by the cracks growing from the blood's pattern.

The gaps grew as did his smile.

He was filled with pride. For once, he did something right, something to improve the world.

Where did this feeling come from? Surely wasn't his, but then who's would it be?

Light escaped from the floor's gaps, Dean's calls turns into screams, to pleas.

How could something so pure, so beautiful be evil? Just how?

He could feel Dean's tugs, yet they seemed so distant somehow.

The light engulfs the room and Sam is in awe.

His eyes burn, begging him to close them, every fiber of his body screams for him to turn away, to get way, but why?

The light asks to come in; the sadness in its voice makes him sad. Why is the light sad? It shouldn't be sad, but happy, right?

Dean screams in pain behind him, hands attempt to block all sounds as the voice asks again for permission unsure of his answer. Permission? Why does it need permission? Why would he turn it down?

The light came closer to him, and Sam embraced it.

The light filled him and he welcomed it.

Its happiness and power surged through him, kissing his soul as he felt them become one.

He's never felt so complete, so whole, as if the light filled the gap, the hole in his being perfectly, it was incredible.

Why did he ever try to prevent this?

He could no longer phantom a reason, not even one from the past.

His brother a long forgotten memory as the devil took hold.

Alright

This isn't my usual stuff

But today on the bus it got stuck in my head that I had to write it

So I did
