"Class is dismissed." The students all rush to pack up their things, chattering happily as the bell rings. The teacher, a man named Kiyoteru Hiyama, pauses his grading of last night's homework to announce, "Kaai Yuki, please stay after class has ended. There is a matter that we need to discuss." Said student looks up from her desk and locks gazes with him. She nods, a bit anxious. What does he want to talk about? Has she done something wrong? Anyone that isn't Yuki or Kiyoteru left the classroom and headed home, or wherever else they went. With a long finger, he pushes his glasses further up the bridge of his nose.
Gracefully, he makes his way over to her desk, hands running over his accustomed suit. His hands are placed on both sides of her desk and she shrinks back into the seat as much as possible. He isn't a very intimidating man...just strict, although his brown eyes always twinkle as he drank his right-before class coffee. "Yuki-chan?" he questions, the words rolling off his tongue.
"Hai, sensei?" she responds nervously, her fingers twitching as she plays with the hem of her school uniform skirt. His eyes never leaving hers, he asks, "Do you know who drew this?"
His facial features soften along with his tone of voice as he pulls out a drawing of himself surrounded by hearts. Yuki's heart skips a beat in fear. She can't tell him that she was the one who drew it! "It wasn't me, Kiyoteru-sensei." She feels a twinge of guilt at lying to him, but it's too embarrassing to be said!
"I just thought that I should ask the little artist of the class and see if she knew. It was worth a shot," he informs her evenly, light hitting his glasses in a way that hides his eyes. Sneakily, she slips her drawing notebook away from his bespectacled eyes. Kiyoteru returns to his desk and places the picture on a small tack-board that hangs on the wall. He smiles slightly to himself, lost in his own thoughts, before turning back to his pupil. "I think it would be wise to leave, seeing as your friends have probably gone a good distance away by now."
She breathes a sigh of relief silently and made a carefully controlled stride for the door. "Goodbye Kiyoteru-sensei!" The brunet teacher waves to the raven-haired scholar, and stifles a snicker. "Beautiful..," he muses and resumes his grading of last night's homework. One can only wonder if he was talking about the artist or the art.
