One step at a time

Summary: Drabble-ish? They're taking it slow, just one step at a time.

I had to look up what a drabble was...and I have no idea if I grasped the concept or not ._. My mind's still somewhat wrapped around FDR's New Deal due to some intense studying for the past few days. Eh...is this a drabble?

*unbeta'd*...ish...

Holding hands was a challenge, fingers interlocked and palms sweating against each other. There are tons of people staring at the couple and he's flustered, shy of the situation. She pulls him along to a store and saves him the trouble of publicly showing off their relationship by looking at the animals. He smiles at her adorable face as she taps against the glass, fussing over the puppy with snowy fur.

Getting to that first date was rough. Knowing what kind of gift to find that would fit her right was both challenging and embarrassing. He found one, eventually, after emptying half of his wallet for that expensive hair accessory that suited her long locks. As a return gift, she handed him a folder with score music. He played the song almost every day until he perfected it and practically fell in love with it.

The second date was more like hanging out. Taking a walk around the shopping distract and then getting stuck in the rain and having to stand beneath a tree. He apologized and she waved it off after unfurling her umbrella. Abashed, he questioned if they could walk together and she pulled him underneath the umbrella along side with her. She brought him home and he apologized profusely.

On the third date, both of their group of friends was accustomed to their relationship and the jokes went around. He blushed and she kissed him unexpectedly to make him feel better, practically flaunting to his guy friends that they were an item. His eyes caught the sight of the hair accessory clip nicely in her locks.

Then there was the six months after that. They were arguing about a misunderstanding situation and she ran off somewhere in the rain. He took some time to calm down and rushed outside with his umbrella. He found her sitting beneath a tree, hugging her knees and shivering. He unfurled it over her head and sat beside her. She didn't talk to him and he sighed. Then he stood and jumped into a puddle when her head lifted up. The two of them burst out laughing beneath the rain. They caught a cold after tackling each other into several puddles.

After a year, the two matured and kissed beneath the same tree, sharing a scarf with the falling snow.

"One step at a time, Len," she told him after pulling away. He grinned in response, not blushing, or shying away.

"Of course, Miku," he replied and moved in to capture her lips once more.

So...a drabble usually contains one hundred words, or it can be doubled or halved or up to five hundred words or so ...from what I checked out anyway.

Also, Not that way is COMPLETED. There will be no more chapters for that. Please don't put it on Story Alert ._. it's flattering, thank you, but please don't wait for it to update.
