An hour after America had begun negotiating for a private jet trip for Ukraine, he had finally finagled a deal. Satisfied with her bargaining skills, he lounged at the table and drank some of Canada's favourite mead for a while in celebration before he went to announce his success to Ukraine. The lights to her room were still on, but there was no sound coming from beyond the door. He opened the door a crack and peered inside. Ukraine was sleeping, but beside her was Canada, also sleeping soundly.

"Good job, bro," he laughed. He retrieved Kumajirou from Canada's room and set the still-sleeping bear at the end of the guest room bed. He turned out the lights behind him and went to Canada's room to sleep.

MIRACLE RECOVERY

By Daisy Jackson

Two months ago, a young man named Matthew Williams made headlines across Ontario for pushing a child away from an out-of-control bus and being run over instead. Now his psychologist and neurologist say it's almost like it never happened.

"It's incredible," said Dr. Sawa, a world-class neurologist who worked on Williams'' case. "The permanent brain damaged he suffered was incredibly selective, and since he got to us fast enough, we were able to minimise the following damage."

Hospital records and eyewitness reports all tell the same story. Williams pushed a child out of the path of a bus with broken brakes at 3:49 pm, and while his condition slipped and he fell into a coma, an ambulance arrived at 4:06 pm. The process of recovery has been a long road, and there is still more progress to be made, says Dr. Mustafa. Williams must still undergo psychological counselling in order to get better control of his emotions and better handle crowd situations, something alarmingly common in his position in the federal government.

While Williams cannot be interviewed, due to his recovery, his twin brother Alfred Jones was ready and willing to give comment.

"Matt's doing a lot better now that he's home and able to go through his neighbourhood and stuff like that. His memory's still kind of holey, but he remembers the big things now, like his job, his family, and his girlfriend. And his shrink says if his progress keeps up, he won't need me as a guardian by next month."

Currently, Williams is working reduced hours at the federal government, says Jones, while he gets back into the rhythm of his job.

"It's a relief to see him doing so good. We're a family of quick healers, but for a while there I was worried. It's just really nice to know my brother is okay, and getting better every day."

Notes: And that's it! And so, I want to say to all of you who've been reading - whether reading and reviewing from early on, lurking, or you just found this story now - thank you from the bottom of my heart. And if you have any opinions about this fic, I would love to hear them!

If you're looking for the collection of "deleted scenes" that I asked about a couple of chapters previous, they will be posted. Just a note, the collection will have an M-rating when completed for the inclusion of a mature removed chapter. This fic was originally a fill for the Hetalia Kink Meme, after all.

As I said before, and hopefully said to all your reviews, thank you so much for reading!
