The man in the trench coat was back. He intently gazed down at the sleeping baby in the crib, his fingers curved around the wood railing. The sound of intense ringing buzzed in his ears, as a startling yet beautiful violet glow entered the nursery. The man in the trench coat appeared unphased by the eerie purple light. The sensation of a hand landing on his shoulder, and the sudden draught caused the man to turn around.

"Hey! Uh, wait a second? You said the kid was bigger," remarked the same strange man from several months before. "I can't keep hanging around this place, y'know. The God Squad is watching, not just those downstairs."

The man in the trench coat gazed quizzically down at the baby, who was now blinking up at him. She gurgled, as she reached to grab the blue tie around his neck.

"There has been development over the past four months," the trench coated man observed. "She has progressed to making unintelligible vocals."

The other stranger rolled his eyes dramatically before draping an arm around his shoulder.

"Yeah, unintelligible, meaning she can't say yes or no," he pointed out. "I forgot you're an amateur around humans, Castiel."

Castiel frowned at his companion. He mistakenly leaned too far into the crib, that baby Chrissie grabbed his tie. The baby smiled, as a wheezing Castiel fought against her vice like grip. Eventually, he managed to wrench his tie back.

"It's still a significate development, Gabriel," he retorted. "I wasn't aware humans had mastered the act of choking at such an early age."

Gabriel gazed into the crib and lifted the baby into his arms. The baby stared at him with her big eyes. She seemed oblivious, as Gabriel examined her by lifting her arms and legs. Castiel kept his distance, especially as the baby tried to grab his tie again.

"Nah, still not big enough" stated Gabriel, who then turned his attention to the unnerving light energy that filled the room. "Look, I've got an idea. You hang out with me for a while. It'll be like old times."

He then briefly looked down at the baby he was holding, before passing her over to a bewildered Castiel.

"Hold that," he said, nonchalantly referring to Chrissie, as he then began searching inside his jacket pockets. "I know I put it in here. Somewhere."

Castiel exchanged puzzled expressions with Chrissie. "What was that smell?" he wondered.

The room trembled slightly, but not enough to awaken the rest of the household. A shrieking noise pierced into the air. Gabriel whipped his head up.

"Alright! Hang on!" he hissed, before producing a glass vial attached to a silver chain.

Gabriel inspected the vial, before opening it.

"Hide in there," he commanded. "Then we wait until the time is right. You don't want the Seraphs finding out. You know they'll tattle tale to Raphael."

The room shakes once again, followed by the same unearthly screech from before.

"Look, I know it's risky, but so was getting Moses to free the Hebrews" hissed Gabriel. "Hey, you stopped old Abe from killing his kid remember. If you can do that, then you can do this. Now, get in the damn vial!"

Suddenly, the room pulsated as the light became brighter. Castiel carefully shielded the mystified baby's eyes.

"I think you offended her" he commented, in a very frank tone.

"Nah, she's cool" returned Gabriel, as he held the vial up.

The violet glow slowly warped itself into a single stream of energy, that swam in the air. It danced around the room, before launching itself towards the glass vial. Gabriel's hands trembled as the great force squeezed itself into the small glass vial. He checked over the container of powerful energy, before turning to Castiel.

"Don't tell anyone of this," he warned, indicating the vial that was now around his neck. "If you tell the Seraphs, you'll have us to deal with."

Castiel nodded obediently. He could question an order from Gabriel. However, on doing so, he was going against the guidance and rules of his superior, Uriel. If Uriel discovered this, he would be exiled for treason, or worse.

"Sweet," grinned Gabriel, before his nose twitched with disgust. "Ah, is that you or the baby that stinks?"

Castiel's brow furrowed, as he held out the infant, who was cooing loudly.

"It's the human," he grimaced. "Is that normal?"

Gabriel collected Chrissie, whilst flashing her a dazzling smile. The baby giggled, as Gabriel placed her back in her crib.

"Pretty much," he answered. "The nephew was like that too."

The two mysterious men were then distracted by the sound of foot steps outside the room.

"Time to wrap this party up" whispered Gabriel.

"Why are we whispering? The humans have no knowledge of our presence" reacted Castiel.

Gabriel rolled his eyes, theatrically, before stabbing a finger in the direction of the crib, where Chrissie continued to make noise, only this time it was cries.

"They might not, but she does" he answered back.

The door opened, and Mary glided into a room, with her white night gown highlighted in the moonlight.

"Adios!" voiced Gabriel, before disappearing with a clink of his fingers.

Castiel remained invisible, whilst Mary consoled her little girl.

"Daddy and I heard you on the baby monitor," comforted Mary, as she changed her baby daughter's soiled diaper. She tickled Chrissie's stomach. "I think we have a chatterbox. Who where you talking to, huh?"

Castiel observed the situation carefully. He had watched over this house for many years now. He recalled the first time he saw Mary. She was heavily pregnant and was enchanted by a small angel ornament that she got for twenty-nine cents. The arrival of a third child was unexpected to say the least, but Castiel retained his duty in watching over all three children.

Once Mary left, Castiel returned to the crib. The baby was sound asleep once more. Castiel tilted his head in wonder. He gently stroked the infant's head, as he uttered a strange language. By next morning, he was gone.
