Chapter 22:
"I'll stop the whole world, I'll stop the whole world
From turning into a monster eating us alive
Don't you ever wonder how we survive?
Well now that you're gone..."
-Paramore, "Monster"
AN: So it has been a while. I mean almost 4 years. Just an FYI, Klaus and Bonnie are definitely out of character on their personalities in this fanfiction. Please forgive me. Also, TVD has ended and my OTPS never made it to the screen however Fanfic keeps my Klonnie and Bamon alive. And to let ya'll on a secret, I have yet to finish TVD in its entirety. Seriously I stopped watching it as of season 3... Er. I am trying to rewatch the seasons and pick up but with all the spoilers Im kinda unsure if I want to. But we'll see.
EPreviously...
" I guess, that poor child...Oh, what's her name ...BONNIE?!", Davina said. Klaus' steps faltered. " Yes, is it not...Bonnie. Just like the prophecy, it's sad such waste. A pure lineage tainted by you!".
"Shut It. Davina, if you don't stop, you are dead. —It's not possible. No Bonnie...it's impossible.", Klaus uttered. Davina smiled as she binds him to be stuck in the old church building.
"If you want to, believe it or not, is up to you. But remember this— I die— She and your spawn die as well!", Davina said.
"Bonnie... A child... Impossible, a CHILD!", Klaus said as he was dumbfounded and flabbergasted by the information. " A CHILD, MY CHILD?!", Klaus said once more as Davina bind him.
The witch began to disappear as she laid out her plan for Klaus' destruction and joining forces with Silas
Life and Death, the cycle of the world of those who are in the world. Mortals fear it, Immortals laugh with mockery at the mention of it. While all at the same time is something that holds an unknown and mysterious atmosphere to it. But, for Bonnie it had a strange allure, it beckoned her to want to explore it. She had always pondered how she wanted to come to her end of life. Would she want to leave the world with a bang or just leave peacefully in a subtle way?
Bonnie looked up as her vision was cloudy. Her head throbbed from the blow she received. She felt like she was underwater as she could not fully hear. She was with Maya at her shop, when these vampires showed up with another witch. She was able to fight off the vampires but she couldn't fight the other witch.
Maya froze in her spot as fear engulfed the older witch. Bonnie wanted to draw energy but she couldn't. She began to feel woozy as she fought to stand her ground. The last thing she remembered was the other witch's mocking laugh.
Bonnie sat up as she felt restrained. She looked at her hands as she saw shackles. She squirmed around as she shook her head. She felt disoriented. She took a deep breath as her vision became clear. The petite woman could only think of the thing that matters more than her own life. Her babies. Her sweet twins. She wondered how she could save her friends and keep her daughter and son alive.
The past two years have been hell. All she did was fight, fight to keep everyone alive. She was a pawn to others. The things she cared for the most were ripped away from her without any regard. Up until now. She was a Bennett and a mother. She was not going to abandon her children. No, she could not put them through this. She struggled to sit up in the cell.
"Finally, you are up", The voice resonated in the cell. The ringing sound filled her ears as her head moved slowly. Her tongue felt heavy and her mouth went dry.
Fear
It filled her senses. But the feeling left as quickly as it came. She shook in anger. It replaced it all. Her eyebrows knitted as she searched for the voice.
"Unbelievable- A Bennett WITCH", the voice commented incredously. Bonnie let out a deep breath. " Who are you- ANSWER ME NOW!?", demanded the witch as her voice rose a pitch higher. Authority was behind the caramel-skinned witch's voice.
Laughter erupted as it echoed through the room. Bonnie's eyes took a red hue. Her magic itched to be unleashed under her throbbing skin.
" All in due time, So tell me—How on earth did that bastard of a Hybrid get you?—I mean how did he charm his way to get you?", asked the voice.
" What is it to you?", Bonnie challenged with defiance and aloofness. The tall witch came into the light as she looked at Bonnie and smirked.
" Honestly, this is beyond me. Aren't Bennett witches supposed to be self- righteous and follow the rules? Seriously, your ancestors sacrificed so much to keep the balance and restore the world. But you are destroying them with no regards. How can you call yourself a Bennett witch? You are a mere-".
" ENOUGH- !", The elder witch said. The younger witch looked at the elder woman as a gruntled groan escaped her lips. The elder witch fixed her eyes on her sister. It was an unspoken way to let her know that the shenanigans and maiming needed to stop. Her shoulder's slumped as conceded. Yet, the young looked at the Bennett witch with disgust.
" AH- She needs to know the disgrace she has brought- If her own lineage won't tell her. Then, someone must-", protested the witch.
Bonnie rolled her eyes. " I hate to break it to you— The old Bonnie left LONG ago. I bow down to no one. AND I MEAN NO ONE.", the caramel witch said as she trailed off with staccato. An electric current was felt through the room.
The elder observed the young witch. She knew that the power that emanated from her was beyond what she could ever fathom.
Laughter erupted from the brunet witch. Bonnie glared at the witch as she felt that the chain had magic within them. She tried to break free as her magic was stopped. She felt the hum of her magic but it did not budge. Furrowed eyebrows and head tilted to the side as Bonnie had puzzled expression. The witch quickly composed herself as the witch took note.
'You like?—Those chains did come in handy!", the brunet crossed her arms as she got to eye level with Bonnie. Bonnie took a deep breath.
" Yeah, it works wonders. But please enlighten me on what is it that I've done to cause such displeasure to be held in bondage?", the caramel-skinned asked in an even tone. Meanwhile, she dangled her arms as the chains shook against her wrists.
The brunet wich smiled as her brown hair framed her tense shoulders. She was vexed. She was not sure if the young witch was playing dumb or if she did not know the severity of her actions.
Bonnie looked at her hands once more as she closed her eyes trying to figure how to get out of this mess. Silence engulfed the room.
" Listen, BONNIE-There is something that you can do to eradicate what you've done", responded the witch as she looked into the young caramel girl's eyes. She searched for an indication of any emotion to stir within Bonnie to beckon her to cooperate.
"Eradicate-What on earth are you talking about?", Bonnie stated as her eyebrows quirked in confusion. She better not thinking about the kids. Bonnie thought to herself.
"Yes, Eradicate-Amend or right your wrongs. Call it whatever you like. But your involvement with the hybrid". A pause. Bonnie's eyes scanned the room as she observed numerous vials, bottles, and herbs. She was held by her hands as the chain was hooked to a looped hook which was on the floor.
"Here is the deal. The witches of New Orleans have heard of the tales of the powerful Bennet Lineage. How they fought fearlessly during the Salem trials and how they continue to cause Havoc. The power of the lineage that witches desire to have. There has been a lot of talk of a witch who has raw power beyond compare and that her union to a powerful force will unleash a new beginning', concluded the brunet.
Bonnie stared at them as if she was not following. " If You heard of such great tales. Why are keeping me here? You don't want me to be an enemy in whatever battle you are facing-', Bonnie countered with snide.
" Ah on the contrary. The new era that we thought would never come has come. But you Bonnie ruined it. By tainting yourself and yet you have unleashed something by far more dangerous. A force that one mustn't be reckoned with-".
Bonnie sat up while she adjusted her shoulder in a rigid stance. Her face remains empty. A pause. The elder witch brought a finger to her lips as she continued to pace around the room. "The child you bore. Will be your destruction or Perhaps the saving grace to the New Orleans witches and yours."
" Child-What are you talking about?" Bonnnie feigned to not know.
" Please stop. The magic aroud you and the power that has settled. It reeks of magic. Nature has a weird way of doing things. You had a child. You unleashed this and now you oughta help. Your friends are in danger", Jane warned.
" I am not following what does a child gotta do with this?", Bonnie said.
" You mated with the HYBRID", Sophie stated through clenched teeth.
" I beg to differ. What does my personal life gotta do with this?", Bonnie bit as she was taken aback. She was not going to admit that she slept with Klaus and that her babies were his. She was going to take that to her grave. She was trying to figure out how to keep her children's identy hidden.
" Listen, I know it's hard for you to swallow such news. I know it's Klaus's child. It was quite unbelieveable.I didnt belive at first. But Sophie-she has never been wrong about her premonition",Jane looked at her sister and back at Bonnie.
" Bonnie, I know you had the baby. The magic surrounding you. I know your baby has their father's genetic traits.I know it",Sophie rebutted with certainty.
" No,I dont know what the hell are you spewing about", the caramel witch said as she refused to acknowledge it. She plead the fifth on this one.
" Your child will suffer. She or he are in danger. I know that having a kid with a Freak of Nature is a tough pill to swallow. Yet, Magic made Klaus a vampire, but he was born werewolf. This is the most plausible explanation for the hand played by nature. Your child is half of him and just the mere fact of this puts you and them at risk".
"I did have a baby-", Bonnie admitted painfully. She wanted to hide her did not want anyone to know.
" And that baby is Klaus's", Sophie said.
"Bonnie? Is she correct?",Jane asked.
Bonnie nodded silently as she feared that her children were already danger. She felt the feeling of hopelessness creeped its ugly head. She shook it off.
"Ah- figures. So how are my-", she stopped as she realized that they did not know of her twins.
" What was that?", the younger witch asked with curiosity at Bonnie abrupt silence.
" How am I- a saving grace to you?", Bonnie challenged as her magic began to push once more.
" You and perhaps the child you bore will put an end to Marcel's reign and better yet call out to Klaus. We need Klaus. I'm a certain that you definately loath Klaus-"
Bonnie cocked her head to the side and remained silent. The older witch paused. " Well, dislike him. I like to believe that we share the same sentiment. Althought, it seems that your invovement with him may have clouded your judgement. But if you cooperate with us and join forces with us. We could destroy them all", the elder woman said.
" What makes you think- I can double cross HIM. You don't want him on HIS bad side. I still don't see how I got anything to do with the HYBRID", Bonnie spat venomously.
She could not bring to say his name. She felt more conflicted than ever and she was not ready to admit that her children were his.
"You have to help us. It is not really a choice. I mean just the fact that you gave birth to Klaus' child. You signed up for a life time of always being dragged into the world of the supernatural", Jane concluded as her face soften and empathy crossed her face.
" So, how do I come into play if I decide to help?", Bonnie asked as she weighed her options.
" Well, all Klaus wants is to regain his title as King. The witches here just want to be free from the tyranny imposed by Marcel. Klaus can do that. Once he is rid of Marcel, well you and your child will be able to take Klaus down", replied the brunet as a matter a fact.
"Ha- you make this sound too easy. You mustn't underestimate the Mikaelson. They aren't mere vampires. They are ORIGINALS". Bonnie replied.
" True, But your child carries their blood. What better way to have their own flesh destroy them?", countered the elder witch.
" How could I- How could I do this. I won't allow my child to spill any blood. I am not going to raise a murderer. Even if it means I die trying and regardless of what is going on with the Hybrid. - I want nothing to do with them", Bonnie stated as she ended the conversation.
" I guess you are not understanding, what I am saying. If the Mikealsons continue live. That means you will continue to be in this war. The only way out is to step in and vanquish them".
"I understand alright. I don't think you understand that in no shape or form my child nor myself need to be involved. Also there is no need for Klaus to know about my mere existence. We are no threat. But -".
" You clearly don't comprehend. Word has been out that Klaus is looking for you. There are no clear reasons to why. But one thing is for sure he wants New Orleans . However, NOLA is at pivotal point. Witches, Werwolves and vampires alike are at risk."A pause. Bonnie's lips went into a thin line. She was not getting pushed around.
"The desperation to be in power is a dangerous thing to want. We juust want to be freed from such the werewolves wont be hard to resolve but if we allow Marcel to contiinue or allow Klaus to take over we won't live to tell it. Your child is able to bring peace if you align yourself", Jane said hoping to get Bonnie on board.
Bonnie let out a sigh. " If I help, what will I get in return?", the muddy greened eyed witch asked.
The elder witch smiled.
"Atta-Girl. Now, we are talking", replied the witch as she knelt near where Bonnie sat. Bonnie watched her with suspicion. She took the chains off Bonnie. Bonnie quickly massaged her arms as she stared at her.
She remained stoic. " I do apologize for my behavior and also on my sister's behalf", the brunet said while looking back to her younger sister whom scoffed and rolled her eyes.
"I guess I'll take that as a No from your sister". Bonnie noted. "Well, My name is Jane Anne and that one over there is Sophie", Jane said as she shook hands with Bonnie and then pointed to the shorter and younger brunet.
Bonnie nodded as she snapped back, " No need for me to introduc myself as you already know this!". Jane nodded in response.
"Look, We do need your help. But we also know that you are not too fond of helping-", Jane trailed off as Bonnie gave her a wayward frown.
" I do help. But someone once told me. If I want to make out alive I gotta put me first", Bonnie replied.
" Ugh- Anne are we gonna beg her? I thought you were going to stick to the plan.- Listen, Bennett. If you want your kid alive and the losers you call friends. We need you to cooperate and perhaps we don't go down in flames", Sophie rambled on impatiently.
"It appears you all need my help. So I suggest you start talking or consider this conversation OVER", challenged on the petite witch.
" On the contrary. I think you Ms. Bennett will be at a disadvantage here. Well considering that your child is at stake...", trailed off Jane ominously.
" Coercion, manipulating and maiming is the way to approach this?-", petite witch growled in response.
" I wouldn't say its maiming. I would say is rather a warning. Perhaps an exchange of services in turn for the safety of your child. Would you think?", Jane said as she looked at Bonnie. She is a liar, thought Bonnie.
" Yeah, whatever. It boils down to threatening my child's life. You know who I am and have an idea what I'm capable of. You should not poke a mama bear as they say", Bonnie countered as she adjusted her position and threatened the two witches.
"Duly noted. But think about your child-", Sophie whispered. Bonnie's stance softens. Sophie gave her a knowing look. Bonnie shifted her weight from each foot.
The young woman scolded herself as she took a hard stance. She will not fall for this. But she must make an alliance if she wanted out of this mess. She did not know what she was up against in New Orleans and beggars can't be choosers.
"Very well. It seems that if I cooperate things may go smoothly. However the second my child's life is threatened I will be quick to turn on whoever is against my kid. Got it!?"
" I would not expect any less coming from you Miss Bennett" replied elder witch matching the same intensity in Bonnie's voice.
It had been a few hours that since he had awaken. The thirst for blood gnawed at the pit of his stomach and his dry tongue felt heavy. He suddenly heard the blood flow that cursed through the veins of the individual. He yearned to sink his teeth in a jocular vein and drain whomever it was.
Then he was met with a pair of brown eyes. They quickly thrust a blood bag in his face. He did not care as he felt the few drops of blood fall onto his lips. The animal instinct kicked in as he teethed into the thin plastic. He had lost his manners as he clutched on it.
He shook as he felt the hunger intensify as he launched towards the young woman. He was stopped in mid-air. Her powers blocked his attack.
Her brown hair framed her face. She stared at him." I suggest you contain yourself. It's quite vulgar and mannerless to threatened the hand that feeds you. Don't you think Elijah?", a patronizing tone colored her voice.
His fangs elongated as his eyes were an abyss. He was angry as dark veins formed and took hold of his features. He took a deep looked around to see that he was in the humble abode of Jane.
Jane helped him up as she led him to the living stared, " You are safe here. This is kind of sanctuary. No magic could be perfomed and supernatural abilites are null".
" Ah-",Elijah replied astonished and with approval. He took a sit on the chair.
He fixed the vintage cufflinks of his shirt. He sat back as Sophie appeared at the door. Elijah was done dealing with senseless killings. He watched the brunet stand there without saying a word. He could hear their heartbeats. It screamed desperation.
" I suppose there must be something you are wanting from me?", He said as he took a sit on the love seat. The women were rooted in their places. Elijah observed them as he motions them to take a seat.
" . We know why you are here-",Jane said as Elijah's eyesbrows quirked up. " You do?', he challenged. " You want to know who is conspires against your brother', Sophie hurriedly stated.
" And you guys know who these individuals are?",Elijah assumed with query.
" Yes, and we need you to help us get to Klaus, Only he can help us and we can help him",Jane said.
"What makes you think Klaus will be willing to do you plan to convince him?".Elijah said.
" This", Sophie said as Bonnie entered the room.
" Bonnie Bennett?!",Elijah's mouth gaped in astonishment and disbelief.
Bonnie looked at them as she stared at Elijah and quickly sat down.
"Bonnie-", cautioned the other witch. " Look Elijah. You need our help-", Bonnie stated as she folded her arms.
" After all this time of you being my brother's number one enemy and being missing? -Do you honestly think I would be in need of your assistance?", Elijah questioned in a calm yet in a suspicious manner. Bonnie rested more on the love seat.
" Elijah. I am not here to beg. But you darn well know that your brother is no angel. If he wants to succeed in becoming king of New Orleans. Well, he better know who opposes him. Don't you think?", rebutted Bonnie calmly.
"Aren't we being a bit presumptuous?", Elijah rebutted as he brought his finger to his lips and cocked his head to the side. He looked at Sophie and Jane Ann.
" Maybe- But I'll be the judge of that", Bonnie replied as she raised her chin defiantly.
" The Judge? I supposed if you say so. Yet, may I remind you of a small detail. You, darling... have failed to realize that your judgment has cause many mishaps", he trailed off cooly."I
" Mishaps. I beg to differ. Elijah, let's not try to shift the blame on me. Your brother has lived for millennia and has mastered the craft to piss people off"
Elijah could not help it as chuckled escape his lips. " I can tell why he fancies you"
Bonnie turned to look at him as she processed the last comment. " Alright. Enough about your brother's likes or dislikes", Bonnie said.
" Listen- I know Klaus has my friends. I am willing to provide my services in exchange for my friends"
" A deal. I am not sure last we made a deal you double crossed me-", Elijah rebutted. Bonnie folded her arms and stated, " I thought we were past that. Besides, you didn't uphold the part of the deal and yet instead you saved your brother. Let's just say we are even. Huh?'.
" I will need a more convincing Miss Bennett", Elijah challenged. Bonnie took a deep breath as she decided to to reveal her biggest and best kept secret.
A day later
Elijah arrived at the old church sat on the pews. He waited for him.
" Took you long enough brother". Klaus shook his heas as he let out amuse sigh.
"Not long enough", Klaus replied curtly. Elijah remained sitting. " So,this is what you've been up to? - I thought after the last time you may have let this place go". Nostalgia withered it self in Elijah's voice.
"Well, brother I thought you would've known me by now. This is an entirely unwelcomed suprise", Klaus taunted his brother .He pondered how much longer would keep the charade before he would demand a clear answer to why Elijah was in New Orleans.
"Alright Niklaus. Shall we discuss my arrval or shall wait for you to ask?", the brown haired and tailoredd suited vampire asked. Elijah's comanding voice yet collected demeanor was sublte enough for Klaus to roll eyes unconciously.
"Don't let me stop you. By all means do tell. But I do find it peculiar for you to be here. I thought you loathed this place".
"NIKLAUS", a warning tone escaped his lips.
" Fine- I see you are not up to reminence on the glorious past. You know I have never wanted to leave Nola. I am a KING after all", Klaus concluded.
" Were. You mean were a king. As I do vividly recall our father ensured that we fled barely unscathed from this place",Elijah answered as he turned slightly to catch Klaus's silohutte.
"I am the KING.I left temporarily and top it off. There is word that some are conspiring against me. I am not going to let that slide. After all IAM NIKLAUS", Klaus said confidently.
" I am aware of this. That's the reason I am here.I took the liberty to inquire who is against you as your methods are quite unorthodox and very bloody.
" Always being the diplomant. Always feigning to be sincere and care of the well being of others", Klaus moocked Elijah.
" It wouldnt hurt you to be a bit more humane. It would help you get things easier than forcing others. It always leaves a bad taste in those who assist you. And I do not feign. My behaviors helps me keep in touch with my humanity",Elijah stated,
"Fine,so what have you found out?". Klaus said as he let out a defeated sigh.
"Follow me",Elijah said as he got up and signal Klaus to follow.
Klaus remained did not moved as he looked at his brother who stood near the door of the church. " AM NOT GOING anywhere with you Not till I find out who exactly is conspiring against me".
Elijah lifted his eyes to look at his brother. He gave him an agitated look. He remained tight -lipped. " I know that you don't trust me. Although have we not said, " always and forever ' , come. If you want to know. Then, you will come".
Klaus followed his brother as he resigned to the idea. The two arrived at the crypt. Sophie appeared as Jane had left to run some errabds. She was still worried about the idea of practicing magic knowling that she may perish. Word was getting out of her disobedience. She had to do some damange control.
"Why are we here?",Klaus questioned in disbelief and confusion, Elijah looked up as if he were pleading for patience. " If you want to know what the witches have in store for you, I suggest you keep quiet and follow me".
" Elijah, I am not a child. I will not be dragged around aimlessly. I need to know what exactly we are doing here", Klaus rebutted darkly.
The two continue to walk as Klaus's shoulder slumped as his brother had remained silent. He trailed behind the brown haired vampire. He stopped abruptly as they entered the crypt.
Sophie outline came into view. " Sophie Deveraux?", Klaus questioned as he turned to his brother. " What is this?", the hybrid continued. Elijah looked at Klaus and back to Sophie. Sophie nodded as relief crossed her face.
"Thank you', Sophie said as she looked at Elijah. Elijah gave her curt nod and said," He's all yours. Proceed."
Klaus looked at his brother as he felt like a third wheel in the exchange. He squared his shoulders as he looked at Sophie with scrutiny. "Very, well. I am all ears".
Sophie's brown eyes never left his form. She was amused and surprise to have the Hybrid in front of her. She sobered up from being so entised by his powerful aura. She felt a sliver of hope as she breathed in as she hoped she could convince him.
" Wow... I - You know you are famous around here? Witches would tell bedtime stories about the all powerful vampire Klaus", Sophie in awe as she looked at Klaus and with caution.
"Flattery won't get you anywhere", Klaus replied testingly as he tunred to Elijah. Elijah just remained silent in response.
" Ah- I don't mean to disrespect you. But as you know Marcel was a mere street rat , an orphan, well that is until you made him who he is now".
" Sophie - what is it that you want?", the hybrid impatiently questioned. " Marcel is out of control. He does what he wants. Kills who he wants ( her voiced quivered). But I am going to stop him... AND YOU ARE GOING TO HELP ME", the young witch stated with determination as her eyes narrowed on Klaus,
His azure orbs gazed at her with confusion. "This is why you brought me here for?", as the blond haired vampired stated as he threw a look at his brother.
" Klaus, Hear her out", Elijah simply replied as he looked to Sophie to continue.
"Hear her out?", Klaus questioned as he looked again at his brother.
He then turned as he continued," I don't need to hear her out. I assure you love, there is NOT ONE thing on this Earth.( He said as he walked closer to Sophie) That will matter enough for me to waste another 30 seconds of my time', he finished brusquely.
" But there is-", Sophie rebutted. Klaus was about to say something else. He then said, " What madness is this Elij-". He stopped.
The scent hit him, He felt that the wind was knocked out him. He felt as if everything had slowed down. His reflexes heightened.
The ambrosia and citrus smell with hint of vanilla. Bonnie.
Listen to them Klaus", her voice came out as distant whispered. Klaus jerked his head back as he compose his face. His fingers curled as he looked up to see her. If he were alive his heart may had skipped a beat at the sight of her.
The woman who he longed for. The woman who made him angry and actually feel. He took in her face. Her hips looked fuller and her breast appeared a bit larger than before. Her steps were hard. He only focused on her beating heart. He noted that she had cut her hair. It was now a short bob. It was curly. She looked tired. Yet she stared at him with the same intensity as before.
Determination was within her gaze. Klaus turned around as a humorles laugh fell from his lips. He avoided looking at Bonnie any longer.
" You are all mad. You have the audacity to -bring her. A liquor fueled one night stand". he paused as he stared at her. " A one time Fu#k", (He locked eyes with Bonnie this time)",Klaus venomously said.
Bonnie breathed in heavily as she tried to remain calm. " No offense sweetheart",Klaus said unapologetically as he stared at her sardonically. Bonnie's jaw locked as she wanted to light him on fire.
She closed her eyes as she tried to calm herself.
"Niklaus... just -", Elijah reprimanded his brother but was silenced by Klaus glared. He turned, " Nothing Means a THING to ME".
" Klaus, please listen. Marcel may keep us from practicinng magic in this town. But as keepers of balance we know when nature has cooked somethinng new...", Sophie interejected as she looked at Bonnie suggestively.
Klaus rolled his eyes, " Whatever this is. Is not working. Bennett. Serioulsy what in the hell took you so long. We have unfinished buisness. You have the audacity to show your face. Don't tell me you are the one conspiring".
" No am not. Will you listen-" Bonnie said as she felt embarrased. She felt humilated. Anger crossed her face.
" Sophie, can you?", Elijah asked for the witch to continue. Klaus eyes pinned Bonnie in place. He wanted to destroy her with his bare hands.
" As I said before. As keepers of balance we know when nature takes it course. Bring something new. Life. I happen to have a special gift in sensing when a woman is pregnant",
" Ah really. How does that help me?", Klaus rebutted. Bonnie stance went limp. She looked to the floor. " Are you saying she is pregnant", Klaus said as he pointed to Bonnie.
" No, she is not, Well she was-", Sophie hurriedly answered. Bonnie's eyes remained glued to the floor now. She did not want to deal with this.
" Congratulations!- I still don't get what this has to do with me", Klaus questioned.
" It has a lot to do with you. Actually everything. I suggest you listen and quietly", Elijah said as he stepped in as he could not see his brother speak in such disrespectful manner. He was not going to watch his brother assault Bonnie with his words.
"I mean vampires can't procreate ...", Klaus sneeered as he looked at Bonnie with anger.
" Klaus, Miss Bennett carried your child", Elijah said.
" No!-", Klaus scowled in anger and disbelief. He could not fathom another man with his witch. He quickly composed himself as he turned back to Elijah.
"What is this?", Klaus questioned. His eyes zeroed on Bonnie. He moved pass Sophie as he took Bonnie's wrist in his hand. He took hold of her wrist roughtly. Bonnie did not budge as she was was not going to be disrespected. No matter how uch she wanted to kill him. She had to tell him in order to keep her babies safe, She had no choice.
" Can you plesas excuse US. I need a word with Klaus. ALONE",Bonnie said as she moved her hands out Klaus's with force. Although it hurt.
That's gonna leave a bruise thought Bonnie as she nursed and massaged her wrist.
" Bonnie are you- I am not done", Sophie protested.
" LEAVE".Bonnie said through her clenched teeth.
Elijah gave Sophie a reassuring look as he ushered her out. Sophie was still was not convinced.
They left.
Bonnie turned to Klaus. " You are one decrepit bastard", Bonnie said. Klaus laughed.
" You are a shameless-', Klaus began as he stopped. He just stared at her as tears welled in her green orbs. His anger was not letting him see past what was being discussed.
He then said," Let's go".
"Where?",Bonnie asked as he picked her up. "WHERE ARE WE GOING?",She demanded.
Klaus walked out with Bonnie as he dragged her. Elijah and Sophie looked at each.
" Where are you going?",Elijah asked.
" The Mansion', Klaus said as he picked up Bonnie as her form dangled from the side of his body and trapped between his arm. She tried to push and break free. His strength was beyond. She grunted and screamed to be freed.
"Put me down",Screeched the caramel witch. They have finally made it to the mansion. Klaus placed her down roughly. He poured himself a drink. He walked around the room as Bonnie stood in his study. He stared at her. All he could think about was how she had disobeyed him, betrayed him and made him feel...
He could not bring himself to say it. Weak.
He stared at her. Anger, regret, and yearning crossed his face within seconds. Bonnie waited. She could not hold it any longer.
" A one night stand?!- One-time F**K?!", She questioned with disdain and anger. Klaus stared at her.
" Yeah-But if it makes you feel better sweetheart. It was a very pleasurable night. One of the best sexual encounters I've had in a while", he replied cheekly.
He could not help but enjoy the power that emanated from her as she shook in anger and her hands balled into fists.
He remained silent as a ghost smile played on his cherry colored lips. " You have some nerve".
He opened his mouth but then shook his head. He was angry. She had been pregnant. He wanted to know who was the bastard who got his witch pregnant. He decided to push those thoughts back.
He stared at her and said," You expect me to believe that I have fathered a child. And yours to be exact?- I hate to break it to you love but I am an Original Vampire. A Hybrid. I have bedded countless of women and let's not forget powerful witches. Yet, I find myself. Childless- Barren-".
Silence filled the room. She rolled her eyes as a hiss escaped her lips. " Yeah, I am well aware of the shortcomings that those of your kind bare."
" And yet here you are parading around such distasteful rumors. I fathered a child-"
Her mouth gaped open as she remained silent. She was disconcerted. She could not hold back. "You think I wanted to make an appearence in the rumor mill?-!", she screeched.
"Stop, Tell me WITCH-What kind of sorcery is this?". The tension filled the room.
" Who is the father?", He asked as he no longer could contain the assumptions gnawing at him.
" I was kept captive. I was questioned. I was held against my will and threatened. Because they think my kid is a magical thing. That the child is yours. Dont you think I would have fessed up if it was someone else's. Believe me I would have and I would not be here at all", Bonnie said barely audible. She glared at him.
" You been with some else just admit it", Klaus growled in response. A roguish look etched onto his face.
Scorn graced her face in response. She rolled her eyes automatically as she attempted to avert looking at him.
Laughter erupted from her bow-like lips. Unfreaking believable, she thought. Her lips went into a pout. He gawked at them. Gawd how he wished to just take her right then and there. He dismissed his lecherous thoughts.
"I should not be surprised by this. I am stupid to believe you would take responsibility. I already told you who the father is. I'm not repeating myself. -I don't need you and neither does-", Bonnie shouted back as items in the room began to levitate.
Klaus smirked, " Still can't get your emotions under control. Bonnie remember, your magic responds to your feelings. One must keep a calm demeanor. One must be in control. Although your magic has gotten more powerful. I must say. But what I find amusing is that you are here and it seems that you need my assistance. Because you made it impossible for me to locate you but now you are back-", he said as she interrupted him.
Bonnie shook her head and said, " I am getting out of here. I didn't sign up to be lectured nor humiliated- Good luck trying to find those who oppose you and plot against you'.
She turned to leave as she headed towards the door. Her steps faltered as he stood in front of her . Her form flushed against his. The electric current was felt against his skin. She felt it too. Heat ran down from the crown of her head to her feet. It was too familiar.
She felt the tingling sensation once more. She jerked her head back and stared at him. Her eyes glowed with anger. Well, the anger that she could muster as desire hid behind them.
His electric eyes narrowed in as he looked at her soft heart shape face and how her tresses framed her face. He searched in her eyes as he appeared to be unfazed by her attitude.
Something stirs within him as he thought of the idea of being a father. " Are you serious-". He questioned.
She tilted her head as she scoffed. " Yes, I am not going to help you-", she replied as a matter a factly. She shifted her footing to turn away from him.
"What I meant to say. Is that child... I am the-FATHER?", his voice was barely audible and timid.
She stared at him stunned rather than angry. He continued to stand in her way. She stared at him perplexed as she shook her head. She was done with this thing. She already felt humiliated by the fact that she had to tell him and the fact that he called her a one time f**K made her angry.
"Get out of the way. Klaus- I AM WARNING YOU!", the petite witch in a tight voice. Her jaw locked as she clenched her teeth. She felt angry because at that moment her mind was plagued with memories. Memories of the rendezvous encounter that were imprinted with their lust and want for each other.
" I just want to know. Is this child MINE?", he pressed on the matter at hand. She let out a sigh.
"YES", she spat in anger. She felt defeated as she wanted this to go with her to the grave. He did not move. He stood there amused by this. A simper formed on his lips. Bonnie's heart skipped a beat as she caught him smiling.
He heard her heart flutter. It was music to his ear. He felt accomplished. This little act of hers was just a façade. He was reminded of the effect she had on him as well as he on her.
He stared at her for a brief millisecond. Staring at those muddy green orbs. Those eyes that he had grown fond of. He remembered the taste of her lips against his. He remembered how she felt in his arms. He remembered the void she left when she disappeared.
He felt angry. He was upset with himself for letting her have such control. In the thousand years, he had scoured the world, he had never felt this need for a woman. Not even Tatia had unearthed such feelings. Then, again that woman was the epitome of his heartbreak. He was angry because he had a right to know of this child.
He never thought such feeling would resurface which has a lot to say about Bonnie. She pulled back as Klaus dropped to his knees. He took a deep breath as he held back a groan as the pain engulfed him.
Bonnie folded her arms as her eyebrows arched in a defiant manner. Her magic rolled off her like waves. Klaus's eyes took a yellow hue as he got up and swiftly trapped Bonnie against the wall. He made the space between tighter as she could not move her arms.
Bonnie appeared to be unfazed. It had been months since she last saw him and his empty murderous gaze made her nervous. Klaus would kill without hesitation.
" So, let me get this straight... YOU thought it was wise to keep this from me. For God's sake Bonnie. I have every right to know this. I have fathered a child and you thought it was a good idea to keep such matters from me? My child?!", Klaus stated as a matter a fact. Bonnie looked at him. It was unnerving how he was way too calm for her liking. Her movement were very slow as she attempted to push him off her. She squirmed at their proximity.
He in turn inched closer as his body was pressed against her form. He could feel her subtle rise and fall of her chest against his body. He stared at her silently. He had all these feeliings conflicting feelings. He felt anger, betrayal, lust and disappointment. He held her gaze. It was disarming. Bonnie kept her eyes focused on his shoulder she refused to look into his azure orbs.
"I warned you-", Bonnie said in desperation in hopes to distract him. She failed miserably as he leaned in and nuzzled her neck. The back of her hairs rose up as she began to invoke her magic. She was not going to be drained and left for dead
His fangs never descended and instead she was wrapped tightly in his arms. He inhaled her scent. She dared not to look up as she felt the warmth between his flushed form against hers.
"Bonnie-", He muttered. His lips lost themselves in the curly waves of her hair.
Her form went stiff. She did not know what to do. Her magic urged her to strike, her mind told her to run and her heart. Her heart. She wanted to hug him back but she only replayed his words as he refused to acknowledge or even take in the idea that he had children with her.
She bit the inside of her cheek. She felt bad for not correcting them on the fact that she had given birth to two beautiful children. But she could not reveal this just yet. She needed to play her cards right and find out what exactly was wanted from her.
These thoughts swirled in her head.
I missed you. He thought. The hybrid as he held the petite witch. He spent his days searching for her. He wanted her back in such way that it frightened him.
Green orbs scanned the room as her eyes fluttered towards the ceiling. She assessed the compromising position she was in. Her arms stretched to make space between them.
He moved back as he felt her pressure against his chest. He knew how impulsive he had acted. He let go and put more space between them. His face hardens as he attempted to cope with the rejection behind such gesture. In order to salvage his ego.
"Listen, I came here because it seems like we can help each other. The whole thing about my pregnancy and the baby are topics that are not of importance. You have made it clear that there is no way you had any hand in the conception of the child. So-", Bonnie said as she broke the silence.
His eyes refocused themselves on her. He lets out a gusty sigh. His eyebrows knit as he is bemused by her actions. He wants to shake her and make her understand. He wants to tell her that he still cares and that he-.
That he- that he what? he questioned himself. That he loves her. Ah, what a sick joke. He is not some lovesick teenager. No, he is a ruthless, merciless psychopath. He does not want to give in the feeling that he hurts and that he is heartbroken by this witch. He can't let himself fall into this. If he does he will be weak.
Her fingers find themselves leisurely playing with the hem of her shirt. She does not meet his gaze but she is aware he is burning holes in her head. The silence is unnerving and she raises her head to meet his azure eyes. His eyes are empty and unyielding.
" You know Bonnie, it never ceases to amaze me that you find a way to state that everything that pertains to us-", he said with a humorless laugh.
"Don't. There is no US. There has never been. Can you just stop maiming others and just be done. I came here because you have my friends. Now, if you want something from me. Just tell me", Bonnie interjected.
" What would I possibly want? Have you not made it clear that what I wanted was something you were not going to give me. You have stated it countless of times. You've made it a point to leave. Yet -here you are here demanding answers. Let's not forget it was you who made things complicated. It was you who made it difficult with your uncooperative and rebellious tantrums. Yet, here you are same as always with blatant hate towards me and acting as if I NEED YOU. So tell me what is it that I possibly want?" Klaus rebutted and challenged her.
" Ah- so playing the victim card?- That does not even suit you. Just tell me what you want and let's get on with it. Aren't you the master of getting what you want. Are you going to start threatening me?", Bonnie fired away questions. She was tired of being used.
" Get on with what exactly?", Klaus deflected.
" There is something you need. So you better make it clear. You have been looking for me. Do you think that I am that naive? Klaus, I was with you for four months. Four months. Remember that. I know you better than you think", Bonnie said as she crossed her arms.
" You know me huh?- Just stop it with the bullshit. This whole hero complex and self-martyr thing going on. It's rather boring. Just admit that you could care less-", he went on to say to attack her.
He closed the space between them once more. He was trying to fuel her anger and get to admit that she needed him just as much as he did. He wanted her to take responsibility, Or more like share ownership of how he felt about her. He wanted her to just face the truth that she deep down had fallen for him. That Bonnie Bennett loves the unlovable and ruthless Klaus.
He wanted her to say and admit. He knew he was selfish. He wanted her to be rid of his want to be rid of his wounded ego. He knew he was asking for too much. He just needs to face his reality. He has to face his demons. But he also knows that with her the pain was more bearable. He hated how much she enmeshed herself to him. He never felt understood and in some ways, she found a crumbling spot to his wall.
" Why does it even matter to you whether I care or not? Does it bother you that I will never be like you? That we are nothing alike? - You know I am just not going to bother with this conversation. Now, are you going to tell me what you need in exchange of friends?", She asked as her eyes rolled axiomatically.
"You...", he said without a thought.
" Excuse me?!", a surprised tone laces her voice in response. " Ahem- You need to perform a few spells. I need to you know who exactly wants me dead", Klaus quickly recovered.
" Well, finding who wants you dead- won't be hard at all', she rallied. A pause. " Just word of warning. I am not going to endanger my life...", Bonnie trailed off in an ominous and austere tone.
" I am aware. You seemed to become more selfish", Klaus concluded in thought. " No, it's putting me first. Didn't you say that is a matter of putting oneself first?", Bonnie spat back as she felt that the space between them getting closer and she can feel the fabric of his jeans gently caressing her thigh as she could feel her chest merely touching part of his chest and abdomen.
"Well, I like the change. Seems like you took head to my advice", A wolfish grin pulled at the corner of his cherry colored lips. Bonnie stared at his lips as she felt her stomach do a flip and a warm sensation nestled itself on her chest all the way down to her thighs.
" But not selfish enough, cause you're still bending over backwards for those losers that you call friends", Klaus replied as jealousy hid behind his indifference. Bpnnie stared at him as she held her breath.
" Really, you want to insult me or flattered me. Stop with mind games".
Klaus hands boxed her in as he looked at her. He truly missed her and was ready to just leave everything behind as long as she was wiht didn't care if the child was not his. He just longed to have her. But in his unbeating heart, he felt that that the child is his.
Bonnie focused on the wall behind Klaus's wanted him to stop with the she wanted was to find out what he wanted to get her friends to be safe and then be able to disappear as she had planned.
" I am not trying to play games. I just wondered how much are willing to sacrifice for them. They are your destruction"
" Ah, now you care. You are willing to do the same. YOU want me to pledge my undying loyalty to you. So, lets get on with this. Tell me what you need and in exchange you release them"
The hybrid remained standing there. He hated how the witch continued to be so stubborn. He No longer wished that she was loyal to him. All he wanted was for her to live for herself. He wanted Bonnie to live as she pleased. But also for her to be with him. He craved her in all ways possible.
She anchored her thoughts in the idea that she was there for business. Klaus abruptly turned away from her. His back was facing her now. She could see his shoulders were tense. . The physical space was not much. But to Bonnie, it felt she was miles apart. She looked at him in confusion as he sat behind the desk and leaned leisurely before speaking again.
A knock was heard at the door. " Can I come in?", Elijah asked. Bonnie looked at Klaus.
" Were are not done-", Klaus stated as he fixed his eyes on the desk.
" Yes, We are. Come in!", Bonnie answered as she folded her arms as Klaus looked at her with disdain. She stared back with eyebrows quirked as she challenged him to go against her wishes.
" come in", Klaus muttered in annoyance.
Elijah entered the room. " Are the two of you done discussing the matters at hand?"
" Hardly-", Klaus growled and he stared at Bonnie who remained silent as she held his gaze defiantly. She wanted him to say one more thing.
" Elijah. It seems that your brother is more bothered and fixated on the technicalities on how I became a mother. However, I am here to aid the two of you. As it seems that these are turbulent times. Obviously, Klaus wants to know who is threatens his mere existence. And as for you Elijah, you want to protect him. Like you guys say ' Always and forever'. I am not right?"
Bonnie turned to the two originals.
The two shared a defeated look, They were at her mercy. Bonnie reminded herself that she need to survive this for her kids. She needs to let him know soon about both kids. Not just one.
"Ok, so what do you want me to do?' , Klaus said begrudgingly. Bonnie crossed her arms and said, "Let's start by freeing my friends..."
