I contacted MI6 as soon as I got far enough away from the wretched place and had access to a phone.

"Hello?"

"Hello, you have reached the Royal and General Bank, how may I help?"

"My dog is brown and spotty." I kept myself calm and waited for the response for me to be put through securely to Mrs. Jones.

"I thought it was a cow." Relief flooded through me as I heard the words.

"Are you secure, Daniels?" She asked.

"As best as possible."

"Is Alex with you?" Alex? Why would... no!

"What? Alex? No!"

"He was taken a few days after you, we've not heard from him." My brows furrowed. I hadn't heard from him in the time I'd been in that horrible cell.

"They're making an exchange; one of theirs for Alex." Mrs. Jones said. It was a day after I had got out.

"Who we sending?" I asked.

"Low-level, Gosto." I nodded, knowing that he wasn't going to make too much trouble if we sent him, just as long as we get Alex back.

We take one of the black cars up o the exchange point. My mind is in a whirling frenzy and the bandage round my left wrist is irritating me. The car stops and I get out. I shiver as the cold, raining outside hits me. I'm wearing only a blue t-shirt and jeans. I see the green jeep in the distance and two people stood next to each other.

I make them out as Alex and one of his captors. Alex looks frozen. He's not wearing a shirt. I dread to think why not.

We stand a good 50 metres from each other and Gusto is shoved forward as a prompt to get going and the same is done to Alex. He stumbles forward towards us and I have to hold myself back from running to him and helping, any sudden movements and I'm dead. He gets to us finally. SCORPIA have already driven off. I step towards him and grab him in my arms and he collapses. I sink down to the floor with him and hold him. There are horrible wounds on his back and bloody markings on his right forearm. SCORPIA had etched their name into his arm.
