~What Lies Ahead~

-Prologue-

If I told you my life story, you'd find it vengeful; I can honestly tell you that it didn't start off that way. When you face ordeals of the most grievous kind, when suffering seems to follow you; how do you respond? Do you passively struggle through or do you wage war? Justice is a choice. I made my own justice; I took an eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth. Until I realised it wasn't sweet enough. Why take an eye, when I can take two? Why take just one tooth, when I can knock out the entire set?

The news reporters, my social workers- their foolish voices, kept spinning in my head like a scratched record. Although I sung my song of justice, I kept wanting it again and again. I lived in the past, I clung desperately to the life I'd taken for granted, the life that was left behind when I was only eight years of age.

My name is Andrea PĂ©rez and I am prisoner of Arkham Asylum.

My abusive uncle, the crime families of Gotham and the corrupt police department built me into what I am. After I bathed the streets with their blood, I thanked them. They made me what I am. They gave me an edge, a backbone.

Preparing me for the cruel world that lies ahead.

~Here to stay~

The guards, one on either side of her, ignored her yells as they walked down the bare halls of Arkham.

"Don't touch me," She hissed, pulling her arm back, letting it snap forwards- slapping him in the mouth. The other guard was quick to react, grabbing her wrists and pinning them to her back. She resisted and was met with electricity coursing through her system but before her legs gave way; her head was forced against the wall.

"Stupid bitch," the guard taunted.

She blinked rapidly, staring down the fuzzy corridor that was no longer empty. Two other guards were approaching; they were either side of a man in a straitjacket. The man's mouth dragged up into a sinister slash. She slumped, aching from the Taser. She also wasn't overly keen on straitjackets.
