Also, to find all of the lovely drabbles, there's a sweet little C2 community out there to subscribe to and enjoy. You can find the link on their profile pages mentioned above.

Disclaimer: Neither the boys nor anything related to Supernatural belongs to me. I'm just having some fun with the boys, playing around with Eric Kripke's sandbox.

TEA AND SYMPATHY

By: Vanessa Sgroi

Sam coughed, moaning—body and head throbbing more with every jolt. Pulling the blanket even tighter, he closed his eyes.

"De—n?" he muttered miserably.

A bout of coughing preceded Dean's raspy, wrecked voice. "Yeh?"

"I'm cold."

"Yeah, me t-t-too."

The brothers had both skipped getting flu shots earlier this year, a gamble that was now costing them dearly. Sam had dropped first, followed by Dean twelve hours later, and they'd both been holed up in this dingy motel room since.

"Is—is there any more t-t-tea?"

"I-I-I think so."

"W-will you m-make some?"

"Uh…huh…"

When several minutes went by in silence, Sam croaked, "Dean—tea?"

"G-G-goin'."

Sam swore he heard Dean whimper between bouts of coughing and wheezing as he shuffled across the room. Feeling guilty, Sam struggled to push his blankets aside and rise.

"Just s-stay there, Sammy. If—if you hit the floor, there's…no…way…I can help you up."

The younger man gratefully ceased his struggles and sank back onto the bed with a groan. "Th—this s-sucks!"

"I know."

"Flu shots next year, man. N-no excuses."

"Yeah. Shove over."

Dean crawled in next to him. Sam sighed blissfully as the hot mug of tea met his hands.
