WOW: flu

Word Count: 200 double drabble this week.

Sorry this is late, but this idea wouldn't come together until today. This is a crossover with Stephen King's The Stand. If you're unfamiliar with it, the world is pretty much wiped out by a virus engineered by the U.S. military and unleashed by accident. A battle is set up between good and evil. I think Sam and Dean would be on the side of good, don't you?

They're out there, just like the others she's dreamed about. These two won't come to her, though they'd be more than welcome. They won't go to him either. Not to serve.

She fries her chicken and bakes her biscuits; those that God's sending her way won't be long. Not the brothers; they won't follow any plan God lays down, but the Lord's got his hand on them just the same. No other way two from the same family survived the superflu. She'll collect her followers and move west, closer to where the dark man gathers his forces. It will be hard; wrecks and abandoned cars clog the major roadways. It'll be easier for those boys, who were traveling the back roads of America when they were barely out of diapers. They'll go where they will, searching for others of their kind, but they are the last. God showed them, but they don't believe.

That night in their dreams she asks them again to come. They shake their heads; tell her it isn't safe and she knows they don't mean safe for them. She wonders if Flagg dreams of them heading west and is afraid. Mother Abigail knows he should be.
