Kagome hummed as she gently combed out her hair, running her fingers through it between brushes. Making sure her hair was glossy and tangle free, she pinned it up in an elegant bun style that showed off the curve of her neck, pinning the fly aways and curling the tendrils around her face. After turning this way and that in the mirror, she gave herself a nod when she saw that everything was in place.

Looking over to her few makeup options, she decided she would simply line her eyes in kohl, giving herself a little cat eye. Then she added a little blush and lip gloss, finishing up her face.

She then turned to her closet, looking through and trying to pick out the perfect outfit. Thinking about why she was getting all dolled up, she blushed slightly.

Kagome was invited to go out with Yusuke's gang of odd friends. She would be joining Yusuke, Keiko, Kuwabara, Kurama, and, surprisingly, Hiei. When Yusuke had come over to the shrine a week ago to invite her to the little outing, Hiei had joined the conversation and basically invited himself. Though she was sure that Yusuke had intended to invite him as well.

She knew that Hiei didn't have to come since she would still be with the many 'bodyguards' assigned to her. Still, she was still glad that he was coming. Which brought her back to why she was getting dressed up. She never really thought of him as being all about appearances, but she still wanted to look good to him. She still hadn't got him back for that kiss. Though she definitely had an idea in mind.

Finally deciding on a light blue dress that slightly hugged her chest and waist and flared out at her hips to end at mid-thigh, she slipped on some black sandals and spun around in the mirror. She never really thought herself as an attractive person, and after the beating her self-esteem got from Inuyasha, she never really thought anything of her appearance. But now, with a smile on her face and her excitement to see Hiei's reaction, she thought she looked happy. And that was good enough for her.

Making sure everything was in place, she glanced at her watch when she felt the presence of an approaching group at the shrine stairs. It was about time to head out, and as Kagome made her way over to the window, she saw Hiei still dozing in the Sacred Tree. Though that was soon rectified when Kuwabara shouted something about him being short as the ragtag group reached the top of the stairs.

Glad that her family was out at the moment, she quickly grabbed a small purse and headed down the stairs to reach the door. Closing and locking the door, she gave a small wave as Keiko turned toward her and smiled. They both glanced as the males were all around each other, with Hiei and Kuwabara throwing insults back and forth. Thought they all knew it was simply for fun.

"All right boys, I don't know about you, but I'm starving. How about we save the testosterone for later, 'kay?" Kagome said as she reached Keiko's side, admiring how cute the girl looked in her outfit.

When she turned back to the boys, she gave a confused look as they all stared at her. Growing self-conscious, she was about to say something when Kurama came up and grabbed her hand, bringing it up to his lips he said, "You look stunning, Kagome."

Blushing, she muttered a 'thanks' as she looked into emerald eyes, missing the annoyed look a certain hybrid demon shot their way.

Gently taking her hand back, she ignored Yusuke's rather risque comment, as Keiko quickly put him in his place. Laughing as Kuwabara joined in with scolding Yusuke, she turned towards Hiei.

"You ready to head out?" she asked, walking to end up right in front of him as everyone slowly started to head towards the stairs.

Looking over her, Hiei nodded. As she turned away, he had to stop himself from groaning at how delicious she looked.

"Oh, the things you do to me, miko."
