He's seen that look before.

Sunleth Waterscape, 300 -AF-

Serah and Snow are talking without even worrying about the King Flan, because even though they're fiancées, they act like they've been married for years. Noel is having trouble keeping up with their talk of theme parks and their collective water parks, theaters, something called a movie, and restaurants.

"What's spaghetti?" innocent question, noodles of vibes.

He's so seen that look before.

Their lips get tight, bodies stiffen a bit, give him a polite but short answer, don't really look at him, and the minute they're done they're comfortably talking together again.

Caius and Yeul would give them that look.

That look that said:

I am seriously sick of Noel

It suddenly dawns on him and a whole lifetime of wondering what that odd look meant suddenly spasms into a collective Oh.

Looking back at it, he's always been the third wheel. First with Yeul and Caius, now with Snow and Serah. C'mon, dude, put two and two together. Exit stage GET OUT ALREADY!

Okay, so they didn't actually say that, they're too nice, but he knows they still want alone time.

Snow isn't a jealous person, but he's sort of getting tired of hinting at him to go pretend to do something else (Noel doesn't know better, for lack of people in the Dying world, his understanding of hints is pathetic at best).

Serah likes Noel and considers him a true friend and everything, but really, she just needs this much time to be with her hero and fan girl all over him like she did back at Bodum.

So he comments on how he's gonna see what Mog is doing (Seriously? Even a Moogle caught on Snow's hints faster than he did!) and he walks out of there.

Not even a minute and he can hear them talk like speed demons, about New Bodhum and memories and joy, and Noel smiles to himself.

Snow may be irresponsible, eccentric, hot-headed, egotistical, blind, but he's not a bad guy. He does things without thinking, without taking anyone else's word for it, but he does so for his friends. He jumps head first into the fire without looking back for the people he loves, for Serah. And even though that's an annoying trait, it's an honest and heroic trait.

Serah can breathe with Snow. She doesn't have to worry about the big stuff with him, at least for a while. And secretly, Serah knows that even if she can't find Lightening, Snow would do it for her. She can fix all the paradoxes and save the world, and there Snow would be dragging her sister behind him. Serah knows he's pigheaded, but she also knows him enough to know that he'd sacrifice everything for his friends.

They complete each other. One's a big baby, and the other's a responsible adult.

Noel chuckled.

Seriously though, they could be polar opposites, but magnets stick together for a reason, right?

Serah and Snow would be timelines apart, but the force of their love will always pull them back.

Which is why he's happy they invited him to their wedding.

Because Snow wanted to thank him for protecting Serah when he couldn't.

And Serah wanted to thank him for helping her find Snow and Lightning.

And when Lightening finally did the long awaited toast to the newlyweds, Noel cheered the loudest.

A/N:

I'll admit it, this story is also a semi-rant. I didn't want to bash on Noel though, I'm not a snobby fangirl, and I like the guy. I like SerahxSnow better though.

So Ha, NoelSerah shippers of Final Fantasy 13-2 archieves, the first decent and legitimate SerahSnow fanfic here.

and yeah, Noel's okay with it.

Have a good one!
