A Gift
"My lord, a package has arrived." Gejutel stepped forward with a well wrapped box and ascended the few step to the throne. "It is from him."
She slid it from his hands and perched it delicately on her lap. Colorful paper surrounded the box with ribbons cascading from the top. "Why are there bows?"
"I believe it is a human tradition, lord. It is meant to be opened on a special occasion such as one's birthday. However, in our case, it would be appropriate to open it now."
"I see." She gracefully removed the wrapping paper and lifted the item from the box. "This is... what is this? Gejutel, report."
"Lord, I don't know." He crossed his fist over his chest in a proper salute. "Frankenstein used one in the human world. It would often make a sound then he would speak into it. He also sent a similar object to me along with a letter."
"A letter? What did it say?"
Hesitantly, he pulled the letter from his pocket and placed it in her hand. "Perhaps it would be best for you to read it... silently."
Gejutel K. Landegre,
Even someone as obstinate as you can understand the importance of swift communication and the difficulty of transporting messages between the human world and Lukedonia. Likewise, someone as pertinacious as you would never alter this method unprovoked. Consider this gift that means of provocation. If you wish to contact me or my lord in the future, you must use this device. I assure you, it is completely untraceable and ready for use. With your stubborn, adamant personality, further explanation would be wasted. Any elegant person would be able to figure it out.
-Frankenstein
PS: The second box is for the lord. She will find everything she needs inside.
"This is rather disrespectful. Was he always this blatant?"
"Lord, the letter is very mild for him." Gejutel motioned to her box. "Did your gift contain instructions?"
"I also have a letter." She slipped it from the envelope.
To the lord,
A Guide to Cellphones
A cellphone is a human tool of communication. Humans are able to contact each other, even over great distances, by speaking into this device. Their voice will then be transported to another phone where the person they wish to contact will be able to hear their voice. This is referred to as a call. To make a call, first press the large circular button at the top of your cellphone. This is the power button.
"Gejutel, what does this mean? Sending your voice to another person, is this the human form of mind control?"
Ding
Frankenstein quickly opened the text.
I see you are as brazen as ever.
"Master, It seems Gejutel enjoyed his gift."
