Bird of Prey

Over tumtum trees it soars,

All throughout day long.

Hunting down its careless prey,

Singing a jabberwocky song.

...

The foolish mortal takes to flight,

By running along ground.

Yet none can escape the jubjub bird,

Once its prey it's found.

...

The fated snack is brisk of pace,

Running on its two feet.

Yet the jubjub bird retrieves its prey,

And enjoys human meat.

...

But then comes a jabberwocky,

With its eyes of flame.

The jubjub bird then takes to flight,

Despising the food chain.

...

And yet it's had its meal,

That's what matters in the end.

And so the jubjub bird flies on,

It wants more meat to rend.
