Set after Insecurity. Artemis and Robin bonding. Wally's slightly confused. Roy's slightly jerky. Ha. Don't own.

Robin returned to the cave content with the victory he and Batman had achieved. He expected to return to an upbeat situation. Red Arrow had joined after all. Wally should be happy at the very least. What he encountered was depressing almost.

Conner and M'gann were whispering in the kitchen. Zatanna was glaring at Wally and Roy. Artemis and Kaldur were nowhere to be seen. "What happened here? Why aren't you guys traught?" Zatanna ignored him and got up to walk away.

Robin turned his attention to the two red heads. "What's with her?" Roy shrugged. Wally stayed quiet. He rolled his eyes, unseen by the group. "Come on, guys. What happened?" He looked expectantly towards the kitchen, but the couple was now gone.

Wally spoke, "I thought she trusted me. I thought we were…getting along…She should have trusted us. Me."

"Oh, okay? That's very cryptic."

"Artemis can't be trusted. I've told you guys that." Roy chided.

"Shut up Roy! You don't know her! She messed up! That doesn't make her a traitor. You don't deserve to judge her." He got up and declared his intent for a walk and not to be followed. "Uh, clearly something bad happened."

"He's overreacting." Roy shrugged. Robin left the archer to his angst-fest. He passed through the hallways to Wally's souvenir room, hoping to find him. Instead he found Artemis, standing with a sai in her hand.

"I hope you don't plan on using that." He said, clearly interrupting her thoughts. "Wouldn't matter much now. I…I blew it Robin." She sank down to the floor. "Tell me what happened." He sat down with her.

Her explanation of trailing Sportsmaster and running into Cheshire seemed thrilling. Then she told him how she lied about the tracker and followed Cheshire herself. He took this information in. Secretly, he knew why she wanted to be the one to find Cheshire. He wouldn't tell her that he knew who her sister and father are, and what her mother was. She then muttered something about Wally and waited for his response.

"What did Wally say?" He simply asked. "He…he called me selfish and insecure." She held up the sai again. "He took the tracker as a souvenir. Not this… And the truth is—he's right." She hung her head. "He doesn't trust me. I can tell."

Robin rubbed her back in comfort. "You know what I think. Roy coming messed you up. Threw you off….but you can recover. Maybe just tell Wally the truth. It doesn't matter who you were Artemis or what you did. It's about who you are now and the intent of your heart. Tell him what you want to be."

They sat together, eventually recovering from their heart-to-heart. When they got up to leave, she stopped him for a moment. "What do you know about me?" He smiled at her. "A lot Artemis, but mostly that you're a good person."

She slugged him in the arm. "Stop being so mushy Boy Wonder." He rubbed his arm as they continued down the hallway, intent on finding Wally.

I needed some Robin in all of this mess. I'm sure Artemis and Wally will get over this. I need Spitfire!
