Just a small drabble because I'm pumped after finding out that the show returns on June 16th! And according to Gabrielle Anwar, we'll see Fiona in prison! PSYCHED! Enjoy!

They didn't start out as friends.

In fact, they started out about the farthest from friends as possible. They had met after Fiona nearly blew Michael's hand off with a block of C-4.

For Michael, it was love at first sight.

They didn't start out as friends.

In fact, right after the meeting that involved her nearly blowing off his hand, they slept together. It was messy and awkward and nothing like he'd ever experienced. Afterward, when she was asleep, he had held her for hours, just watching her while she dreamed. He'd never done that with any other woman. Then again, there weren't that many women before her. And even less that he stayed with after the sex was finished.

They didn't start out as friends, but that didn't stop his heart from breaking when he had to leave her without a word inn the middle of the night. After receiving the call that changed his life, he had taken just a minute to watch her sleep. He'd always loved watching her sleep. She looked so peaceful, so content and young. And as he walked out, he shed tears and mourned the loss of the life he thought he'd never have with her.

It would be years before he saw her again in a rundown motel in Miami. And though he knew the smart thing was to distance himself from her and the possibility of hurting her again, he couldn't help himself. He was hopelessly in love with her.

Through the years, they started to make a life together. He was reluctant at first, but eventually he woke up one morning with her in his arms and he knew that he could never let her go again.

They didn't start out as friends, but in the end, that didn't matter because he loved her.

The End!

A/N: Hehehe. It's kind of like what Spike said about Buffy and Angel. "You'll fight, and you'll shag, and you'll hate each other till it makes you quiver, but you'll never be friends." I also saw one of Gabrielle's very first movies, Wild Hearts Can't Be Broken, and I totally recommend it! I saw a lot of Fiona in it, but I barely recognized Gabrielle, since she was so young! Thanks for reading, and please review!
