A short little drabble about why Sunday is Mary's favorite day of the week. Could be seen as a 'final scene' for the series. Enjoy!

Mary Shannon loved Sundays.
She hadn't been to church in years, so that wasn't the reason. She didn't make it a point to call family on Sundays; she saw them plenty through the week. No, she loved Sundays because they were the only time of the week when she could truly relax.
And now, she loved Sundays because she usually spent them with Marshall. Her smile widened as she ran her fingers through his hair. They were sprawled out on the couch, and Marshall had his head in Mary's lap as some medical drama played on the T.V. She had never been the domestic type, but with Marshall, she was learning all kinds of things she'd never known about herself.
Marshall yawned and snuggled closer to Mary. It had been a month since he'd ended things with Abigail, and though it had hurt, he knew it was the right thing to do. It wasn't fair to her, to promise to marry her when he knew that he loved someone else so much more. So he had taken a chance, ended his relationship with Abigail, then went to Mary. And to his amazement, she had felt the same way. He had never thought he could be this lucky, but something as simple as lying in her lap on a lazy Sunday afternoon was quickly becoming his favorite thing to do.
A screeching cry from the other room startled them both, and Mary sighed. "Norah…"
"I'll get her." Marshall kissed Mary sweetly before sliding off of the couch and heading in the direction of Mary's bedroom. He returned a few minutes later with Norah cuddled into his shoulder. He loved Mary's little girl like she was his own, and to him, she already was. He sat down with Mary and patted Norah's back.
Mary laid her head on Marshall's shoulder and smiled. "What did she want?"
"Attention. Just like her mother."
"Okay, Doofus…"
He laughed and kissed her again. "I love both of you."
"Yeah, yeah…"
Yes, Sunday was Mary's favorite day of the week.
The End.
A/N: Aww, Mary/Marshall fluff. LOL. Thanks for reading, and please review!
