Disclaimer: It isn't mine.

The title comes from "A drop in the ocean", by Ron Pope. I started trying to write the microfics in one sentence (as I was supposed to) but I couldn't stop myself. English isn't my first languaje, so I apologize already for any mistake you'd find. Also there are some spoilers from The spirit of competition (1x05) Here it goes:

A drop in the ocean,
A change in the weather,
I was praying that you and me might end up together.
It's like wishing for rain as I stand in the desert,
But I'm holding you closer than most,
'Cause you are my heaven.

A drop in the Ocean-Ron Pope.

Romance

He makes her a necklace for her birthday. It's handmade, made out of wood and silver; is beautiful and elegant and, at the same time, it's home. The present reminds her of the necklace Katara always wears, the one that shines and Korra used to ask for a lot when she was little.

It isn't love, but it could be.

Hurt/comfort.

Korra never meant to hurt Bolin, really, she didn't. It's just that she was depressed (and scared ) when he asked her to hang out. The earthbender made her feel special, and still does. So, in the days Bolin looks a little down, Korra decides that's her turn to make him feel special too.

(He's one of a kind, after all)

Fluff

He's always the one who wakes up first. His daily routine consist of looking at her for a few minutes (to make sure that she doesn't have nightmares anymore) and going back to sleep again.

(Korra never finds out.)

AU

Usually, Korra doesn't really like the kind of music that Bolin spends hours listening to in his free time but, when he sings to her What makes you beautiful, his voice soft, steady and warm, she hugs him and tells him to sing it again.

Smut

Their first time is full of wonder : of the natural disaster that she is and the calm wind he represents. Their touches are soft and fast, and they laught when he encircles her with his arms. Chest touching , their hearts beating so fast that they can feel each other's through bones, muscles and skin.

Friendship.

It never ceases to amaze her, the way that Bolin's arms are always open.

Angst.

"The next one is going to be an earthbender" She murmurs with the little force left in her body, blood streaming down her hand when she takes his to hold.

They're trembling, their hands.

"I understand" He responds. It takes him a little time but he does, he gets it (even though he wishes he didn't). Bolin watches her for what seems like eons and leaves a kiss on her forehead: it's soft and warm, full of a bittersweet song unspoken.

"I promise" Bolin says.

(a farewell.)
