2015 Update: Decided to re-do the first two chapters of this story.

It was officially Gar's first year of living in the cave since his mother's passing, and he was adjusting rather well to his new living space. His sister took notice of this rather quickly, and to celebrate, Megan decided to have a small party for him... At midnight... When it was officially his first year of living there. So at eleven at night, Conner and Garfield found themselves watching as Megan flew about the kitchen, getting things ready for their celebration.

"Why can't this wait until tomorrow?" Conner asked, trying to stifle a yawn as his eyes darted to the clock for a quick instant.

"Because it wouldn't be as special then!" Megan answered, getting out some chocolate chips and placing them on the table next to Gar, who by now and leaning against the clone's arm, already half asleep.

"The kid can't even keep his eyes open!" Conner protested, using his free hand to gesture to the boy's fluttering eyes.

"I'm awake!" Gar groaned instantly, sitting up suddenly to further prove his point.

"See?" Megan smiled as she returned to the kitchen and began to get out ingredients that were commonly used in... chocolate chip cookies.

With a tired grunt, Conner got up from the table quickly, turning away from the mess on the table as quickly as he could before starting off towards the couch just a few feet away from them.

"I'm going to go lay down." The clone mumbled as the horrid memories of the brown disks suddenly came back to him and he shivered.

"Suit yourself, are you going to help me Ga- Garfield?" Megan asked, pausing when she saw seeing the boy was no longer sitting at the table were he had once been, but was now curled up on the couch next to where Conner was now.

The martian shook her head slowly at the loving scene, and then quickly got to work and getting the cookies in five minutes later before going over and joining the boys on the couch, deciding to take a quick nap like the other two had. She figured that a short nap wouldn't hurt, as long as they got up in time for the cookies to come out of the oven and for midnight to come. With that in mind, she let her eyes flutter closed.

About forty minutes later, the trio was awoken by the sound of the fire alarm blaring loudly in the kitchen. The boys jumped up instantly, as Megan flew over and opened the oven, using her telepathy the whole while as she took out the tin pan and tossed it onto the top of the oven. All three of them took in a sharp breath and slowly approached the pan with caution, as if half expecting it to jump out at them if they moved to fast. It didn't though, and instead they saw one giant cookie in the middle of the pan. While it was lightly burned around the edges, the rest of it was perfect.

"Hello Megan!" Megan laughed, slapping her forehead in a silly gesture in reaction to the giant cookie.

The boys caught the reference instantly, and they both turned to look at each other for a moment before all three of them burst out laughing. It wasn't a very funny joke, but it was a familiar one that just added to the warm feeling in the kitchen that was not already being caused by the still open oven. Moments later, Garfield stopped laughing and went over to inspect the cookie again.

"Seriously though, thats not funny." He said, cracking off a piece of the giant cookie before popping it into his mouth quickly.

"Just eat your cookie and be happy." Megan chuckled, walking over to her little brother and cracking up the rest of the cookies.
