iBlood, blood, blood... How was this kid still alive?/i

"Pass me that needle, keep and eye on his heart rate. Bepo, we need more bandages."

"R-Right Captain!"

"And I need blood. Type F."

"Aye!"

Bepo ran from the room and Law was left alone, blood soaked hands keeping Luffy from following his brother to the afterlife.

iJust how the hell can he still be alive!/i

Law was no stranger to blood; he's shed others more than enough times. It was a sight he often enjoyed, but to see the red staining so much of his current patient, one Monkey D. Luffy, he felt a small knot of panic in his gut. He wasn't panicked for the rookie captain laid unconscious before him, but more for his own reputation. Luffy was his patient and he'd be damned if the rubber fool died under his watch; his ego wouldn't allow it.

Just what had Luffy been thinking, he wondered silently to himself. Judging from the state of him he'd already been through some serious trauma before he even arrived on the battlefield to 'save' his brother. He had to hand it to the kid for his tenacity, but guts alone didn't get anybody anywhere. Ace's cold corpse was enough to prove that.

"Captain?"

Law was startled from his thought by the return of his crewmate and smirked, pleased at Bepo's efficiency.

"Good, hand over the bandages and prepare the blood transfusion."

Bepo rushed the complete the order as Law's eyes bore down on Luffy's still form. No, he would not let this kid die today. They'd yet to test their strength against one another and Mugiwara's turmoil when he woke would be too fun to miss.
