Chapter 11: Visits

In Unova:

Mere minutes ago, three more legendary Pokemon, Dialga, Palkia, and Shaymin, entered the Cloud Castle that protected him from the poisons of the outside world. All the Pokemon accompanied Sir Aaron, who was carrying Ash in his arms, to his room after losing consciousness in the middle of his first day of training. The mighty Aura Guardian sighed deeply for his son; this type of training wasn't exactly easy for mediocre Aura-Users, but this was Ash's first step into the world of Aura and hopefully, his first steps toward a healthier life. It would be hard for Ash to accomplish what was required for his training, but his father was sure that his son would overcome the obstacles in his way.

Of course, that didn't stop the doubts from bombarding his mind. He had promised his wife that he would protect Ash if the training became too dangerous, but the question that he kept asking himself was if he could protect his son from himself. Ash's pain wasn't physical, his aura could mend most bodily injuries within half an hour; the real problem was psychological. Sir Aaron knew that neither he nor the Pokemon could take the risk of moving forward too quickly, but his son needed to confront the memories, or horrors, that plagued his past.

Ash also needed to learn how to wield the Aura. However, seeing how much aura Ash was able to release while his Aura was yet untamed, Sir Aaron knew this task was going to be difficult. Along the way, Ash's mentality needed to be fixed as well; what good would a trained Guardian be if his thoughts and motives were always lurking in the wrong places? When Sir Aaron finally reached Ash's room, he shook his head and refocused on Ash as he opened the door. Inside, he found his wife, who immediately saw that things were not as simple as they first appeared.

"I guess things got a little out of hand …" Marion said as she sighed deeply, carefully taking Ash into her arms before softly lying him down in his bed.

"Good heavens, it was something alright. Did you feel the power of Ash?" asked Sir Aaron nervous about the cold gaze that his wife was giving him.

"Seriously, I felt it alright Aaron, his cries, anguish, pain and sadness. Is that the true power of our son? Then again, it also makes sense that his power is now like this." Marion said glaring at her husband.

Much like the Pokemon, Sir Aaron remained silent; Lady Marion is very loving, kind, and overprotective, especially over her own son, and no one can blame her. They knew that Lady Marion could be scary when she wanted to, and this was one of those times she decided to show her scary side; the cold gazes that she was giving her husband were proof of this. Sir Aaron approached his wife and hugged her tightly; he known his wife was worried over their Ash, but to be honest, deep down Sir Aaron was also concerned. Then again, Ash was precisely to them and he was to his Pokemon and the Legendaries. All of them, especially Sir Aaron and Lady Marion, wanted to restore their son back to normal (that is what they hope he can become after being betrayed). Sir Aaron smiled at his concerned wife as he broke their hug.

"Honey I know how you feel about our little one, but you know as well as I do this training is the only way we can help restore Ash's self-confidence." As they sat down on Ash's bed, not trying to wake him up, Marion responded.

"I know but that does not mean I do not worry Aaron. My prince looks like he currently has a fever, and that scares me, because this is just the beginning of your workout … and I cannot imagine what will happen next." With this, she hugged her husband while she looked at her sleeping son.

"Lady Marion I am sorry to intrude, but I know that Ash is strong, because he awakened me from that staff I was imprisoned in." said Lucario as he stared at his teacher/friend and his wife.

"Lucario is right; never underestimate Ash. Because when you least expect it, he proves that he never gives up. He is a brave boy and full of courage even with what happened, his love for us is still intact, you just have to believe in that." says Celebi.

"They are right, I guess that we have to wait and see what this will made of my son … but something tells me there is more." says Marion concerned.

"What is it my dear?" Sir Aaron asked confused by the tone of his wife's voice.

"It is Ash's so called friends, Aaron. For some weird reason they were with Ash during his journeys, but with our son disappearing, wouldn't they probably be looking everywhere for him? But what will we do, when they come here, and find him, Aaron?" Marion asks almost crying and she was also deeply concerned by if Ash's 'friends' come looking for him.

"Darling you know that that is impossible." says he was him tries to calm his wife down.

"Impossible? Aaron …" Marion said with sarcasm in her voice "… perhaps it was impossible that Ash was betrayed by the people who he gave everything what he had, friendship, loyalty and even love! Aaron, perhaps it was impossible for us to give our only son in the hands of that woman, who we thought was going to take care of our son! … I want you and the Pokemon to understand that Ash is not ready to see even one of them! And especially here! In our own house!" says Marion firmly.

Sir Aaron and the Pokemon remained silent as Marion let her concerns out. And she was right, those traitors would not do anything until they find Ash and maybe it was not a very bad idea that Arceus visited those miserable humans. Marion saw that the Pokemon and her husband were remaining silent, but she decided to soothe their distress.

"Aaron, Pokemon, I want you to know what my anxiety is. I trust Ash to you with my life, but I fear that Ash will sink further into a depression. I do not know those traitors, but I am afraid they will do anything to destroy Ash; that is my biggest fear. Like Ash, I have a special love for every Pokemon, legendary or not. I wanted you to promise that Ash will not be alone, at any time! Please promise me!" Marion almost begged, as she stared into the eyes of the Pokemon.

Sir Aaron and all the Pokemon sighed deeply, at least they could not blame Marion for being so, but they all know that she had every reason in the world to be like this. Arceus knows that those traitors only wanted to destroy Ash completely, and that none of the Pokemon would allow that to happen. They would not allow that any danger to came to Ash, they will give their life this time first before any of these wretched can touch Ash. Sir Aaron also analyzed and shocked by the words of his wife, and like the Pokemon, he felt the urgent need to protect Ash more than ever. Now they all I could think of protecting Ash from these traitors, not allowing to let anyone hurt him. Everyone was so lost in their own thoughts that nobody realized that Ash was ones again awake a while and if you looked at his face, you could see that he obviously overheard the conversation between his parents and the Pokemon.

"Mom, dad, guys … Do not worry about me." Ash says half smiling to his parents and the Pokemon.

"Ash you should have told us that you were awake… My prince did you hear what we were talking about before?"

"Well mom I would be lying to you if I said that I did not … but I have heard that you were talking about my "friends", but I thought that they could not find me here."

"That is so, Ash; they cannot find you here, but your mother is still worried that those traitors will not remain calm with your disappearance." says Sir Aaron seriously.

"But I do not understand that, I heard them speak that none of them wanted to be with me, but it is more than clear to me that they hate me; to them, it would not have mattered if I had died, it would be like winning the lottery." says Ash in a dark and quite sarcastic manner.

"Ash not ever talk about death just like that! You have no idea how worried we were about you! So do not talk about it like that, is that understood." says Marion as she stared at her son.

Ash now regretted saying that; he knows that deep down his parents are very concerned along with the Pokemon. He did not want to throw more firewood into the fire as he silently listened to the conversation between his parents and the Pokemon. He smiled mentally and wanted to say thanks that, despite all that he had to live through, being reunited with his real parents was a blessing; his real mother was the best mother in the world (that was not an exaggeration), but she was just overprotective towards her son, and his father is gravely concerned about him.

"I am sorry mamma. I regret saying that, but even I can see what they thought of me."

"It is alright, love, but like I said before, we go step by step, my dear. We know that you are depressed, but we do not want to force you to do things, not for my, for your dad's or your Pokemon's sake. You know that we will be here for you, my prince." says Marion as she kissed Ash's forehead.

"I said it before and I say it again, mom; being with you and dad has been a blessing to me. A light in this darkness." Ash says as he smiled to his mother and father.

"The blessing of having you in my arms again is mine, my little prince. But I want us to have some time alone so we can talk, as mother and son, but I also want to speak alone with your father about your training."

"Mom please do not bother, I really want to do the workout with dad. I am now more than sure that I want to continue. The training is incredible, mom, I am really excited, please let me do this mom." begged Ash.

"Well like father like son, it seems that I have no choice, but I will keep an eye on all your training. But your father and me are going to have a little chat."

"If you say so." muttered Sir Aaron to himself.

"You know that I can hear you Aaron as an aura guardian, you should not underestimate my power of hearing, so let our son have a some fun with the Pokemon. Lucario, I will leave it to you to take care of my prince." says Marion as she pulled on her husband's arm.

"Wow, I never thought I would see the power of Marion on Sir Aaron." says Celebi as Ash's parents left the room.

"I have a feeling that it has always been this way, since they met, that my mom can control my dad." says Ash as he laughed happily.

"Do not bother, Ash, your father may be an aura guardian, but your mother is his wife." However, that did not help stopping the laughing of both the Pokemon and Ash.

When Pokemon and Ash stopped laughing, Ash tried to get out of bed, but Pikachu, Celebi and Latias stared at him. He saw the gleam in their eyes and understood that it was not a good idea to get out of his bed yet. Sighing as deeply as he could for not being allowed to get out of his bed, even though he know that his mind and body still needed a bit of more rest, he realized the other legendary Pokemon that are in the room.

"Shaymin, Dialga and Palkia, I am very glad to see you again. I guess that you will stay with me?" says Ash smiled at the 3 legendary Pokemon.

"Chosen one but of course, like Mew and the others, we will stay with you, after all it is an honor to be with you." says Dialga.

"True, each of us owe you so much for all you have given and done for us. We are here to thank you, also we want to serve you because you deserve it." says Palkia.

"No big deal guys… you guys are part of my family … but is something wrong Shaymin? You have not said anything yet." asked a confused Ash to the quiet Shaymin.

Ash was confused by the behavior of the Gratitude Pokemon, but then he felt that the Gratitude Pokemon had thought that she should be punished instead of being welcomed with open arms. Ash was ready to continue his training, but comforting Shaymin had to come first.

"Shaymin, you know that you are not the only one who was disappointed in Dawn, and I do not blame you, Shaymin; we are friends, a family, and a family will always be together no matter what happens."

Much like Shaymin, the other Pokemon were in shock. Shaymin thought that she was not so obvious in showing her disappointment in Dawn, or maybe it is that Ash can perceive their emotions. When the others stared at Ash, they realized that his aura was changing, but the darkness was still present, but his aura is weakening none the less.

"Guys, apparently my training with my dad is actually working, at first I was very skeptical, I admit, but I am now more excited to continue the training with dad." Ash says happily.

"Ash, I am so happy for you, and I am sorry for everything I have done."

"It is okay, Shaymin, I want you to know that I always will for each of you. We are friends, and true friends sometimes do both good and bad things." says Ash with a said tone.

Shaymin jumped into Ash's arms and all the Pokemon smiled for the first time, after a month it seems there is hope in the recovery of their Chosen one.

Professor Oak's laboratory:

While in Professor Oak's laboratory, the professor was crazy concentrated working on the manuscript that he found, which was, according to him, a prophecy about the Prince of Pokemon. But he did not know what to think about it; he could not accurately perceive whether it was Ash Ketchum, his apprentice, but it was still a mystery why or how the young Ketchum disappeared. Yet that was not what frustrated him; the professor was frustrated because it was the first time that in his life he did not understand what was happening in the Pokemon world. And there he was sitting in the living room of his lab, then there was a knock on his door.

"Come on in."

His grandson Gary Oak, along with Tracey Sketchit, his assistant, came in.

"Grandfather, I hope you are not busy, but Brock and others are in a hurry to speak with you."

"Do not worry, Gary; I have been working on something for the last few hours, but what do you want to talk to me about?" says Professor Oak as he stared at Brock and the others.

"Professor, you know why we are here; we are here because we want to know if you have heard from Ash."

"Brock, I want to understand something first; Ash disappeared in Sinnoh and you were with him, so I am just wondering what happened."

None of them responded to the professor's question, but then Tracey spoke…

"Misty, I have known Ash long enough to know that he does not go away just like that. So tell us what happened to Ash, because something happened I am sure of it." said Tracey coldly to Misty and others.

"Okay this is what happened, Paul defeated Ash badly. Paul steamrolled him, almost has if he was the only single person in the competition, Ash had no opportunity against Paul, that was the reason for his disappearing."

"You're wrong May, Ash had more of a chance in beating Paul then vice versa." says Gary as he intervening in the conversation.

"Gary what are you talking about, you did not see the battle between those two, we saw it from the first row the stadium between the two." says Max.

"Because of that reason, it is amazing that you did not noticed anything special of Ash "unsuccessful" moves of Ash." Gary says seriously.

"What do you mean with "unsuccessful" moves of Ash?" asks Brock curious.

"I mean that Ash only fought with 45% of his Pokemon capacity. Ash knows not to use his full power as a trainer in battle."

"WHATTTTTTTTTTT?!"

"Gary is right; I know because Ash wanted to use Squirtle, Bulbasaur and Charizard in his battle against Paul, but he changed his mind at the last moment." the professor told them, as he agreed with his grandson.

"But if so, why would Ash when he had a change of beating Paul, why would he limit the power of the Pikachu and the others. What kind of trainer does that?!" asks Dawn furious.

Dawn's outburst made it clear for the professor what was going on. Gary and Tracey were surprised by Dawn's outburst as she spoke like that about Ash. Dawn then realized what she did; if they wanted help finding Ash now, then she had better tell the professor a pretty good lie, and fast.

"Professor I … what I meant is that… …." More could Dawn not get out of her.

"I know what you mean Dawn, …" told the professor to the nervous Dawn, while he looked and spoke coldly at her and the others "but I do not know where Ash is, nor have I heard from him."

There was again a silence between them, but for the two Oak's and Tracey it seems that there is more behind Ash's disappearance. But then the professor realized something that send a chill though his whole body, to him was the prophecy now clear.

"!" yelled the professor startling the others in the room.

"What; is there something wrong grandpa?" asks Gary concerned about his grandfather who had a look on his face as if he has seen a ghost.

"It is nothing, Gary." he lied quickly when he thought "The Chosen one … The prophecy is about to begin."

Back to Ash in Unova:

Ash and the Pokemon enjoyed their time together, it was like it was all before Ash was betrayed (except for the fact that 13 legendary Pokemon were with Ash). Pikachu, Mew and Celebi were jumping around on Ash's bed, him was watching them and his other Pokemon playing. It made him happy being with Pokemon; it was like it erased everything bad, like the suffering from Delia as his mother and the 'friendship' with Brock and the others. He could now breath better being with his real parents in a place where it is peaceful and tranquil. In a few words, he felt free. He was waiting for his parents, when he felt a huge amount of power…

"I have felt this energy before …." Ash then looked up towards the Pokemon he felt.

"It is good to see you again, Arceus." says Ash as he looked directly at the Alpha Pokemon.

Indeed the god Pokemon was there. Celebi and others legendary Pokemon were in shock, because none of them felt the presence of the Original One. Unlike his encounter with Ash's 'friends', he made his appearance silently, but the skills of Ash started to flourish as an Aura guardian, with as proven by the fact that he was the only one that notice his presence.

"Apparently your skills as an Aura Guardian are improving exponentially, Chosen one."

"Well … I … sensed Shaymin's confusion and also your presence as … well, but that is thanks to my dad's training so far. He is a pretty good teacher." says Ash as he flushed by Arceus's comment.

"You are going to become as good as your father. But I wonder how you feel with everything that has happened to you."

Ash sighed deeply; he knew that like the other Pokemon, Arceus was concerned about him. So he tried to express calmly how he felt about what happened to him…

"To tell the truth, Arceus … I feel confusion because I know that you have to give Pokemon the time to raise and train your Pokemon with caring. They deserve your respect, you should always love them and do to force anything on them, Pikachu is an example because he never wanted to evolve Pikachu like Squirtle and Bulbasaur and I respect their decisions. But now I doubt if I can become a Pokemon master, because there are people who have no sense of good in them making them evil and cruel. People believe that sacrificing your Pokemon only will bring you to the top of being the best, but if I do that I will become like Paul, which I cannot do. But I then honestly prefer that I will never be a Pokemon master then letting my Pokemon suffering for that cost."

Arceus was totally surprised by Ash's ability of loving Pokemon, Pikachu and the others including the legendaries were happy and proud of their trainer/friend/Chosen One, his heart was really full of infinite kindness towards them, which reminded each of them to protect him at all costs.

"Is there anything else you want to tell us Chosen One?"

"I do not trust humanity …" Ash says in a tone quite chilling. Pikachu felt the same as the others Pokemon included the legendaries. They kept silent so that their Chosen could continue.

"With the exception of my real parents, I do not trust anyone. I cannot see how humans mistreat their Pokemon, for entertainment, or to win at all costs. You guys, each of you here are important to me, so I cannot let you suffer for mankind. And I am wanted to show to Paul and the others that Pokemon are amazing creatures, who deserve love and must live and feel things in their own way. That is what I want, Arceus."

And again the Pokemon were surprised by Ash's deep love for them, then Arceus approached Ash.

"So … Arceus, I want to train the legendary Pokemon … all of them equally, but I cannot do it without your permission, because your opinion is very important to me, I will do nothing until I have that."

The legendary Pokemon were surprised by Ash's request, the Pokemon smiled internally, Ash really respected them greatly. Arceus smiled pleasantly, Ash really deserved the title as the Chosen One, so he decided to reveal the reason why he was here.

"You have my permission, but on a condition." told Arceus as he started at Ash.

"Okay Arceus, you can ask me anything I will gladly accept it." says Ash while smiling at the Original One.

"Well the condition is … is that you train my like one of your own Pokemon, I fight with you Chosen One."

"WHATTTTTTTTTTT?!" yelled Ash and his Pokemon at the same time.

To be continued...
