See... I promise I didn't forget about this... ;) That said, this is the end of season 10, beginning of season 11. Stuff I didn't really want to deal with so I kinda skimmed it (so no much action, sorry). I hope to get caught up with season 11/12 soon but then I want to leave much of season 13 until I find out how *spoiler* MW leaves the show as that might change things story-wise.
Anyway, thanks to those who have stuck with me. Much love.
"I don't like that Tony is in the Bahamas without you." Abby sat down for dinner with a pout. "All those beautiful women, bikinis… not a good combo."
"He'll be fine, Abbs." He wasn't thrilled either, but it was part of the job. "Plus, he's got Dorneget with him."
Abby frowned. "Yeah, and that's supposed to make me feel better?" Although he never expressed interest in any other men, he certainly wasn't against sleeping with them.
Gibbs laughed. "I think we're safe when it comes to Dorneget."
"I guess."
"Abby was worried that you might leave us for Dorneget." Gibbs said, pulling off his shirt and tossing it into the hamper.
"I was not!" She protested as she climbed into bed.
"Why would I leave the two of you for Dorneget?" Tony slid in next to her. "He's so… not my type."
Abby started to pull him close, but Tony tensed. "Sorry… a little too much sun."
Gibbs sighed and came around the bed with a bottle of aloe he'd grabbed from the bathroom. "Roll over."
Tony rolled onto his stomach, his arms stretched down by his side. Gibbs squirted a blob of the cool aloe onto his back, not bothering to warm it up first. "JESUS!"
Abby giggled and settled down beside him, watching as Gibbs spread the gel over Tony's back and shoulders. "You know, we could probably use aloe as lube. Straight from the plant would be best, but…"
"No." Tony groaned as Gibbs' hands moved over his sensitive shoulders. "It's not often I turn down sex, but… my shoulders… are on fire."
After a few minutes of silence on the drive to work, Abby perked up. "Vance asked me to help Kayla with her science project."
"Make sure she does some of the work."
"Hey!" Abby feigned insult and then her cheeks tinged red. "Vance said the same thing. I can't help that science is my best subject."
"She'll be lucky to have your help."
"Vance said he thinks she needs another woman in her life, so I… i might spend some extra time with her, if that's okay?"
Gibbs slowed at a red light. "Why wouldn't it be?"
"It's just that you and Vance… you've had your issues and I don't… I don't know, I just don't want things to be weird."
Reaching out, Gibbs covered her hand with his. "I love you, you know that?"
"You tell me… on occasion," she teased.
"You're a good person Abby, and I love that you want to help. You don't need to check with me." Gibbs pulled into his parking spot and leaned in for a quick kiss. "I'll bring a Caf-Pow down before long."
Abby gave him a quick wave and headed in.
Gibbs waited a few minutes before following her in. Tony had been cheerful that morning, his shoulders feeling better now with a few applications of aloe and after-sun lotion. But when he found Tony at his desk, he was surprised to see that Tony's smile was gone. "What is it?"
"The expense report was rejected…"
Gibbs laughed and then turned away to control his smile. "Guess you gotta pay for your own fruity drinks."
"Did you know that Ziva and McGee were working together?" Tony didn't even take off his coat when he came in. He headed straight for the basement to confront Gibbs.
"I had my suspicions, but I wasn't sure how much McGee was doing."
Tony hopped up to sit on the work bench. "Oh."
"Why?"
Tony shrugged. "I don't know, I just feel… left out of the loop."
"Not my place to say anything, to either of you."
"So you're doing… what?"
"Waiting for Ziva to come to me. She can't be rushed in this. Has to be on her own timeline."
"You think she's ready?"
Gibbs shrugged.
Gibbs wanted to throw his phone across the wall when it rang, but Abby pulled away from his kiss and settled against his chest.
"Answer it," she was breathing hard. "Could be Tony."
"Gibbs…" He growled, pressing the phone to his ear. His whole body tensed immediately. "Are they okay?"
Abby was up in a flash, slipping into her boots before Gibbs was even up. Blood was rushing through her ears and she couldn't focus well enough to hear the rest of Gibbs conversation. He hung up, grabbed the keys and they hurried for the car.
"Car accident, they're alive. That's all I know." Gibbs wished he'd had lights to speed through the evenings traffic. He still made record time getting to the hospital. The nurse was of little help, and unlike most, Gibbs' glare seemed to have little effect. They would have to wait until the doctors had seen them before they were allowed visitors.
Vance arrived shortly after, and they were met by two police officers who had arrived on the scene after a passer-by had called 911.
"I assume you're here for Anthony DiNozzo and Ziva David," a man in a white coat came to speak with them. "They won't be cleared to leave until we've had an orthopedist review the x-rays, but you are welcome to go back now."
Gibbs turned to tell Abby they could go back, but she was no where to be seen. Out of the corner of his eye, Gibbs saw a flash of black moving down the hall.
Abby was already laying along side Tony in his hospital bed, careful not to cause him any extra pain.
"Hey boss," Tony smiled weakly. "Not exactly how I planned my evening to go."
Gibbs nodded, but said nothing, cautious of giving too much away with Vance in the room. "I'm going to check on Ziva."
"He's got bad ju-ju." Abby slammed her purse down on the table, making both Tony and Gibbs startle.
"What?"
"Parsons." She pulled out a chair and sat down, ignoring the food that Tony pushed her way. "I don't like him."
"He's just doing his job," Gibbs said calmly. "Ziva… she's in it deep with everything going on. She'll be fine."
Abby shook her head. "I don't think so. Something isn't right."
—
"Four months." Abby tapped her fingers on the table of the diner. "You guys quit four months ago. When will this all end?"
Gibbs shrugged. "I don't know."
"I feel like we're losing Tony."
Gibbs shrugged again. "I can't do anything about that."
"Yes you can!"
He took a deep breath. "Tony needs to do what's right for himself, right?"
Abby nodded and pushed her plate away, much of her breakfast uneaten. "You're leaving, aren't you?" While she was worried that they were losing Tony to Ziva, she was worried she was going to lose Gibbs to something much worse.
Gibbs reached forward to take her hand. "It'll be quick."
"Just… come back, okay?"
"I'll try my best."
"I was afraid you'd say that."
