"She's going to need you after everything she's been through," Korra wasn't sure why she said it. Why she sent Mako away to Asami.

But at the same time she did know why. She was right, Asami would need Mako now more than ever. The problem to that though was that Asami wasn't the only one who needed him. Korra was going to as well.

She looked over at the two, feeling happy and sad. Happy, because Asami hadn't betrayed them and they were slowly becoming friends, and sad because she just pushed the boy she was crazy over into her arms. She knew it was selfish to be sad about it, but feelings are often things that cannot be changed on whim.

Tenzin came up to her then, squeezing her shoulder. She looked up at him, "How's Lin?"

"She'll be okay. She's sending in her resignation tomorrow though," He said, sighing quietly.

"What? Why? She can't!"

Tenzin scoffed, laughing a bit, "Oh yes she can. She's… going on a little expedition to find her officers, and wants to do it her own way. 'Outside of the law' I believe were her exact words."

Korra looked behind her to the chief, who was staring at the ceiling, looking more determined than ever, "But to give up her lives work? That's a big sacrifice."

"Indeed it is. But I saw you make a fairly big sacrifice yourself, only moments ago," Korra blushed only slightly, looking away.

"How did you know about Mako?" She mumbled, still not looking up.

"Pema and I had our…theories, you could say" He stated. "The two of you are two of the strongest women I know," Tenzin said firmly a minute later, looking up and out the window at the Sato estate below, "Both of you are willing to give up so much to help those around you."

Korra looked up at him, "But Tenzin, the two of us are failing. What can you say to that? We just found Amon and Hiroshi's secret factory because they lured us in there. We lost Lin's entire force! We… we're failing Tenzin. We're in a war and we are losing."

He looked down at her, looking as if he may laugh, which confused her quite a lot, "Korra, that's part of what makes you strong. Even when things are getting harder and harder, you don't give up. You're headstrong and stubborn, like Lin, and usually those traits are unwanted. But in a war or any fight, those traits can be our greatest assets. It makes you determined to win and not give up."

Korra looked up at him, "But Tenzin, I… I don't know how to fight this war!"

He looked down then, sighing, "That's our biggest problem. None of us do." Korra looked back at Lin again, who's eyes were closed now but clearly wasn't asleep. "The two of you would get along, you know, if you both tried. You're both very alike in many ways."

Korra smiled then, looking back at him, "Good, because we could use more than one Lin around to fight this war." She walked over to the chief then, wanting to say something, anything to her.

Lin opened her eyes when she heard Korra coming, "Good guess on Hiroshi." She said, in a monotone.

"Thanks, I'm just glad… and extremely upset in a way, that I was right." She said, sitting in a chair by the earthbender. "Lin… I'm sorry we lost your officers."

The chief shook her head, "No, it isn't your fault, Korra. It was mine, I should've thought all these things through."

"Tenzin told me you're resigning your position tomorrow, to try and find them your own way. Well…" Korra said, smiling shyly, which was strange for her, "I'd like to help you, as I feel responsible."

And then Lin did something Korra had never seen much of before. She smiled, "Good. I could use someone like you."
