Disclaimer: Harry Potter belongs to JKR, of course. Just puttering around in her world.

"No! Absolutely not! I won't have them in my house."

Draco startled as he was headed down the stairs carrying Teddy. He changed his plans for heading to the kitchen with his small cousin, instead hurrying to see what had caused sweet spoken Luna to speak so venomously.

Four people stood near the front door in the entrance hall, facing Luna, who had her wand drawn and aimed at the newcomers. He drew his own wand, whispering a shield charm around Teddy, and stepped to Luna's side.

"Who are they?" he asked, opting for the coldest, snobbiest tone he'd developed in his younger teens. The sneer would have done his father proud.

"Harry's Muggle relatives." The way Luna said the words was almost as contemptuous as Draco remembered his father referring to non-magicals, and Draco studied the four.

One was not a Muggle, judging by the wand holster he spotted on her left arm. He didn't know the woman, but figured she was some sort of Ministry or Order escort for the Boy-Who-Lived's family. He dismissed her. If she hadn't drawn her wand yet, it was unlikely she would.

Of the three remaining, one appeared to be a boy who'd rival Goyle in bulk. He looked wary, but curious, as he glanced around the entrance hall. Draco was glad he'd helped figure out a way to remove the screaming portrait. The last thing this meeting needed was Walburga Black's racist rantings. The skinny woman who clutched at the youth's shoulder wore an anxious expression, keeping her attention firmly on the drawn wands. He judged her to be the true Harry relative of the adults, since she obviously knew enough to be afraid of having wands aimed at her. The morbidly obese man near her finally reacted, shoving his bulk in front of the woman and partly blocking the teenager.

"Now see here, we don't want to be in any more freakish houses either," he blustered. "But that Minister fellow insisted we had to come here."

"Dad, don't start that freak stuff again," the teenager spoke up, putting a hand on his father's forearm. "They've kept us alive."

The older man shook off his son's arm and stupidly took a step toward Luna. Draco cast the Stunner before he'd even really thought it through, feeling a wary satisfaction at the meaty thud the idiot made when he hit the floor. The woman gave a half-muffled little shriek, falling to her knees to pat at her husband. The boy only sighed, spreading his hands and stepping back to signify he wasn't advancing on Luna.

"I don't know who you are," Draco said, addressing the witch who'd accompanied the three and hadn't made a move toward her wand even after he'd stunned one of her charges. "But start explaining why you've brought someone like that into Harry Potter's home." He nudged the baby into Luna's arms, putting himself firmly in the way of any further aggression, and considered calling a house elf to spirit both woman and child far away from these idiots. He suspected Luna wouldn't appreciate it, and he still needed to find out why his gentle friend had reacted so strongly. Harry's relatives didn't seem like the best examples of Muggles, but she'd not even referred to the Death Eaters in Malfoy Manor in that tone.

She sighed. "I'm Hestia Jones, formerly of the Order of the Phoenix. It's been my task to keep these three safely out of sight for the last year." Her tone implied it had been a rather strenuous duty. "And I congratulate you on a swift stunner. I've wanted to do that for ages."

"Why are they here, now?" Draco figured if the Order had spirited the three away for so long, they could have put them back where they came from with the war over, rather than plopping them on Harry's doorstep.

"The safe house was purely Muggle and the neighboring house caught fire today. Damaged the places on both sides too badly for anyone to stay in them. I sent a message to Kingsley, who told me to bring them to Harry to sort out."

Luna spoke again. "He can stay." She pointed at Dudley. "They can sleep in the gutter, and it'd serve them right for what they did to Harry."

Draco felt his confused irritation at the newcomers flare into actual anger. If Luna knew of something these people had done against Harry, bad enough she'd toss them out into the streets, then he wanted nothing to do with them. "Send a message to Harry and let him decide for sure," he suggested softly, keeping close eye on the now-weeping woman on the floor and her stunned spouse. "We have to let him decide, no matter how awful they are."

It took a moment for Luna to think it through, and when she had, she flicked her wand and cast her Patronus. The silvery hare romped around the entrance hall, making Teddy giggle when it settled on his tiny shoulder to stare at Luna. "Go to Harry Potter. Tell him the Dursleys are here and please come home."

"Let's put everyone in the dining room," Draco suggested, and when she nodded, he aimed his wand at the still-stunned man and levitated him. He wasn't about to release the first spell, when he was still so unsure of what the man might attempt. "You three, go in there and have a seat, and we'll follow with him."

Hestia Jones shrugged and led the way into the dining room, and Draco was grateful that the teenager followed her lead without so much as a worried look in his parents' direction. The woman drew a handkerchief from a pocket and snuffled into it as she preceded her floating husband into the room. He maneuvered his bulky burden into the farthest corner of the room before releasing the spell. Keeping his wand trained on the man, he watched as the other three chose chairs at the ornate table.

"Now you can get up and sit in a chair like a civilized person," he instructed the eldest Dursley male. "Or I can petrify you and leave you to rot in the corner while the rest of us sort this out."

The man started to say something, but seemed to think better of it as he eyed the wand leveled calmly at his chest. He rose slowly, making his way to the empty chair next to his wife, who clutched at him tearfully.

They all stared at each other for a moment. Draco didn't know how long it would take the Patronus to reach Harry, who'd taken most of the residents of Grimmauld to the island to help prepare it for occupancy. He'd stayed behind with Luna and the babies, with only Netta present of the elves, and she was upstairs with the sleeping Alexander. When Luna took a seat at the farthest end of the table with Teddy in her lap, he took up a stance near her. He didn't sheathe his wand, but let his wand arm rest loosely at his side. It occurred to him that they were posed much like a Lady and a vassal of old. He found he liked the image of himself as noble protector.

"Hopefully Harry will be home quickly," he stated.

It was the blond teenager who responded. "He's okay, yeah? She didn't have much to tell us other than the war was done and Harry was a hero."

Luna's gaze was intent on him, assessing something in that unique way of hers that Draco had grown used to since they'd become family. The beefy blond obviously passed whatever test she was giving, because she smiled warmly at him. "Harry's a hero, yes. He's always been one, even if a lot of people didn't realize it or care. We've been looking after our family here, making things safe again." She smoothed Teddy's hair, currently silvery blond to match Draco's. "This is Teddy Lupin. He's Harry's godson, and both of his parents died in the final battle. Unlike Harry, he will grow up cherished so that we honor their memory."

Her expression turned icy as she turned to look at the elder Dursleys, and the youth glanced at his parents and sighed. "Why aren't you mad at me too?" he asked softly.

"You were a child following the poor example set for you by those who should have encouraged you to good deeds, not to torment those smaller and weaker than yourself. When you were old enough to start truly thinking for yourself, you made changes, didn't you?"

He nodded. "It took nearly getting expelled at school, but yeah. Plus Harry saved me from those Dementor creatures I couldn't even see. He could have left me behind, and no one would have even known he was there when they came."

Draco could easily imagine Harry defending even a boy who'd bullied him. He'd saved Draco in the Room of Requirement, after all, when no one would have faulted Harry for leaving him behind, and it had been Harry's orders that had had Greg saved as well. He knew they'd have gone after Vincent if the Fiendfyre hadn't gotten to him so quickly.

Before anyone else could speak, there was the sharp crack of multiple Apparitions into the hall. "We're in the dining room, Harry," he called out. The bespectacled man appeared in the doorway, George and Hermione following closely behind. He didn't spare a look toward the visitors, instead crossing to Luna and pressing a gentle kiss to her brow. He straightened and looked at the others at last.

"Hello, Aunt Petunia and Uncle Vernon." The greeting was as cold and formal as the ones Draco remembered giving Bellatrix and Rodolphus before his aunt's last remaining hold on sanity had degenerated completely. His cousin got an actual smile. "Dudley, you're looking even better these days."

Draco felt a bit less hostile to the other youth when his reaction to Harry's greeting was a huge grin. "You're looking a lot better yourself."

"It's amazing what a comfortable home life can do for you," Harry replied. He laid one hand gently on Luna's shoulder. "Allow me to introduce my wife, Luna, my godson Teddy, and my cousin, Draco." He waved toward the door where George and Hermione lingered. "You've sort of met George and Hermione before. Everyone, meet my cousin Dudley and his parents, Vernon and Petunia Dursley."

Dudley nodded thoughtfully. When his parents didn't speak up, he sighed. "It's a pleasure to meet you all on nicer terms. I'm sorry Dad upset your wife."

The elder Dursley male began to bluster but silenced immediately when Draco twitched his wand in the man's direction. Harry turned his attention to the obese man. "You're in reasonably good health, so I assume you didn't upset her too badly. You'll find upsetting the Lady Black in her own home can be very detrimental to your health in more ways than one."

Petunia made a strangled sound. "Lady Black?"

"Funny to hear that my criminal godfather had a title he passed on to me, isn't it, Aunt Petunia?" Harry noted. He didn't wait for an answer, instead questioning Hestia Jones about the house fire that had led to the surprise arrivals. He was silent for a moment, one hand rubbing soothingly at Luna's shoulder, before he turned to Hermione.

"I've got a couple of Muggle credit cards, Hermione. If I gave you one, could you set my relatives up in a hotel somewhere until they sort out what they want to do now?" The witch nodded, and Draco was glad his lack of experience in the Muggle world meant he wouldn't be responsible for sorting out the distasteful couple.

"If it's all the same to you, Harry, I think I'd like to stay. Your wife said she was okay with that." Dudley gave Luna a hesitant smile.

When Luna nodded assent at Harry's inquiring look, Harry shrugged. "You're welcome to stay with us as long as you like, Dudley. It is a magical household, so you may need one of us around, just in case. We're also in the middle of reviving a larger property since it's a bit crowded here and only going to get worse since I've applied as Lord Black to take on responsibility for any magical orphans who don't have anyone to take them."

"I can look into charms to help him get round anything magically restricted," Draco offered. He figured his aunt and Hermione also would have some tips, considering their extended families.

Petunia cleared her throat hesitantly. "What will we do now?" she asked softly. "Our house is gone, blow to bits by those evil wizards, and I don't think we'll get any insurance money off it. Vernon doesn't have a job anymore."

Draco watched Harry's stern expression soften somewhat at the realization his relatives were effectively destitute thanks to the wizarding world's war. When the black-haired wizard didn't immediately speak up, he offered a suggestion, one that would get the offensive people far away from his family. "You could get the minister to set them up with papers to move abroad. They can magic over their missing year."

"George? Can you and Hestia go ask about getting that done?" Harry asked, and the redhead nodded. "I'll have Gringotts convert funds equivalent to the Privet Drive house to Muggle money so they'll have funds to start over. Where would you like to go?"

The older Dursleys looked at each other before Petunia leaned in to whisper in her husband's ear. He looked frustrated, but nodded after a pleading look from his wife. She turned back to Harry. "Canada would be nice. As far away from here as we can get. Their west coast is supposed to be nice." Then, as if the words practically strangled her to say them, "thank you."

Hours later found Draco drifting to the kitchen after being unable to sleep. The errands relating to the Dursleys had been completed swiftly, amazing him at how fast things could be done even in the Muggle world, especially with a few magical touches applied to push through paperwork. By this time next week, Harry's aunt and uncle would be thousands of miles away. The blond figured that couldn't happen fast enough, since Luna had remained slightly agitated all the way up until she'd retired with Harry and the baby two hours ago.

It didn't truly surprise him to find Dudley Dursley in the kitchen, staring absently at a cup of lukewarm tea with a plate of assorted biscuits in front of him. The new addition to the family might be Muggle, but it didn't concern the house elves in how to care for him. He settled across from the other blond and poured himself a cup from the pot on the table.

"Can't sleep?" he asked.

Dudley nodded. "I never used to think so much, but the last year that's all I've really had to do, other than finally paying attention to my studies."

"I didn't think you'd stay, once your parents decided to immigrate." It puzzled Draco, since the couple seemed inordinately fond of their son, much like his own parents had been towards him.

"Starting over might be okay, but I don't think I could face myself if I ran away from how I used to treat Harry. I owe him."

"I guess I know that feeling. He inspires loyalty, once you get to know him."

"He'd never mentioned a cousin on this side of things before."

"I don't think he'd want to admit to being related to most of his Black relatives before now." Draco grimaced, suddenly wishing his tea were something a bit stronger. "I bullied him, or at least tried to, for most of our time at school. Even broke his nose sixth year. But he forgave me and gave me a place to stay."

"Seems a bit of a theme for him."

"Yeah. Things I was forced to do in the war, should have me in a holding cell right now, but I'm released to his custody until they can hold trials about what went on during the war. He also kept my mother free, although my father's under house arrest and unlikely to go free even with Harry to speak up for him." Draco sighed. Even if Lucius wasn't legally his father anymore, and he understood the protection the elder man had enacted for him and his mother, he didn't want to see the man spend the rest of his life in Azkaban. At least the Kiss wasn't an option anymore, since the Dementors had never returned to Ministry control, disappearing "far north" according to those who'd tracked them.

Dudley studied him for a moment, reminding him that like Greg, the stout boy was probably more intelligent than anyone gave him credit for. "The witch – Hestia – she listened to that magical wireless all the time. It got really bad for a while there, and she said kids were dragged into 'Dark things'."

"You could put it that way. I'm not sure 'Dark' covers it all. Maybe those who just stayed at school. Some of us, we crossed that line into evil things, I think. One of my best mates died because of it, but it's mostly at an end now."

"So Harry's as important as Hestia made out, that he can keep you out of prison even with that?"

"I think he'll do his best. I'll have some sort of punishment, I think, but not like the adults who joined the wrong side voluntarily. But he's Lord Black, and the Savior, so yeah, I've got a better chance than someone without his testimony." Draco knew Harry intended to testify he'd saved his life, and thus kept the Light side from losing, but he honestly wasn't sure how much he'd actually helped. He hadn't been really believed in the end anyway. But sometimes it was about the intent, especially in the Wizarding world.

"He mentioned the Lord Black earlier. He's really a peer?"

"In both worlds. We're cousins on that side of the family, but when his godfather died, he inherited the title from both Sirius' bequest and being the eldest male of the current bloodline."

"And he's taking on orphans?"

"We're not even sure how many yet, but he's already started a bit. You met some of them tonight – the two boys with the dark haired girl. She's their only relative left, and her family was on the wrong side of things too. Most of the kids will probably be from that side, because the others are more likely to find adoptive parents from those families who lost their children or grandchildren to the families like mine."

"I'm surprised he's kept me on then. That's going to be a lot to look after, and I've no magic to help."

"You'd be surprised. There's plenty to do at the new property that can be done without magic, once we figure out charms to make sure you can access the places you need to. And you might not be the only Muggle there in the end, since Hermione – the girl with all the curly hair – is dead set to invite Muggleborn families to at least vacation or spend time there to learn about the Wizarding World."

"She seems a bit of a swot."

Draco laughed. "That's about like saying the sea is a bit of water, but if we'd had a normal seventh year, she was guaranteed for Head Girl. I think she's out to reform the world."

"Considering how fast she twirled Mum and Dad out of here, without so much of a peep out of Dad even, I suppose she might manage it." Dudley yawned, rubbing his jaw afterward. "I'm off to bed. Do I need to wash up?" He gestured to the tea cup he'd used.

"You'd only offend the elves if you did. Whoever's lurking about tonight will tidy it away as soon as I leave."

"Odd thing, that elf. Can you make it stop calling me Master Dursley?"

"Not likely. Best to just let them call you what they like, especially the elderly male one. He's not likely to change it short of an order from Harry or Luna." Dudley nodded and left the kitchen after helping himself to one last biscuit, leaving Draco to mull over his tea until he was drowsy enough to sleep. He hadn't thought he'd have a lot in common with the young Muggle man, but it seemed they'd find common ground. Now he just had to follow through on his promise to Harry to ensure that none of the households excluded Dudley. He foresaw a lot of obscure studying in his future.

OOC:

I never meant to have this sort of delay in the story, but real life bit a T-Rex sized bite out of me last year in an unexpected way. I was nearly done with my double bachelor's degrees (accounting and management) when my spouse of 19+ years had a midlife crisis and announced his platonic female friend wasn't as platonic as I'd trusted them to be. So the last year has resulted in becoming a single parent, living without another 'adult' in the house for the first time in my adult life, graduating university, and beginning the arduous task of finding new employment with my shiny pair of degrees (harder than it sounds in the state I live in).

Sadly, two-thirds of this chapter has literally been on my tablet since a few weeks after the last update, but it got stymied by my university workload and then the personal life upheaval. I've gotten used to the whole single parent running the ship thing (as used to it as I'll ever be!) and hopefully when the new job does happen along, it won't kill my muse quite as dead as homework did for a while there, even if I am seeking my CPA certification too.

Not sure just yet whether the next chapter will be Harry or Luna POV, but I have it semi-outlined, so hopefully the delay won't be any longer than a month.
