'Lo,

I felt in the mood for some Lovebottom/Nuna fluff and wrote this to let out some of my many feels.

Neville's Christmas present to Luna.

I don't own the Harry Potter world or the characters.

Enjoy...

This was his moment; he was going to do it. Neville Longbottom clutched in his hand a small box wrapped in deep-purple paper with a pattern of golden snitches on; it had a red bow tired around it.

He walked to the edge of the frozen lake where a girl with long blonde hair that flowed in the winter wind sat. She had large bluey-grey eyes and was wearing a necklace of butterbeer caps. She was humming a tune softly to herself.

She turned around as if she knew Neville was standing there behind her, "Hello, Neville!" She said in a light, silvery voice. She put down a copy of The Quibbler and gestured Neville to sit down in the white snow beside her.

"Hi, Luna." He smiled nervously and sat beside her, "how're you?"

Luna replied, "I'm fine, thank you." She took a small section of her wavy hair and started braid it. "Why aren't you going home for Christmas, Neville? I'm staying here while dad's on a business trip, you see, so I said I'd stay here. I've never stayed at school over Christmas before, have you?"

"I'm staying because I wanted to, thought I'd spend my Christmas with Harry and Ron, we're having loads of fun." Said Neville, and then added, "No, I haven't stayed here for Christmas before either."

Luna smiled and said dreamily, "The castle looks wonderful with all the snow, doesn't it."

Neville smiled back, "Yeah, it does."

They both sat for a minuet without saying anything. Finally plucking up the courage Neville handed Luna the small box, still not saying anything.

Luna smiled, "Is this for me?"

Neville gulped nervously and nodded.

"Oh!" She untied the ribbon and carefully ripped off the wrapping paper. She opened the small card board box to reveal a small almond shaped powder blue seed with a pearly sort of shine to it.

"It's a Blue Palatompus seed. The stalks change colour as they grow, at first they are navy blue and when they're fully grown the stalk is pearly white. The fully grown flowers resemble a lily of the valleys. This sort will be pale blue. The best part is the that the fully grown flowers make music, they sound like small bells chiming. They bloom all year round. I read it all in a book." Neville said all in one breath. He looked over to Luna who wore an expression of great interest.

"Wow!" She beamed at Neville.

"I thought we could grow it together." Neville turned a slight shade of pink.

Luna placed a small kiss on Neville's cheek and his face changed from pink to a shade of magenta. "I'd love to! Let's go plant it!"

Unable to speak Neville nodded and Luna skipped away towards the frosty green houses, her hair dancing behind her.
