My sister wanted a CHERUB fic on this theme, I figured I'd go one further and do it as another crossover with Alex Rider. Not at all long, just a little drabbley type thing that I wrote whilst watching! Technically set after the as yet unfinished Interesting and so does CONTAIN SPOILERS FOR THE ENDING OF INTERESTING, but not necessary to read, you just need to know that James knows who Alex is and what he does.

"A security nightmare. That's what this is. A security nightmare." The chief of MI5 muttered as he paced up and down the boardroom. "And of course I'm in charge of dealing with it. Absolute security nightmare."

Zara Asker, chairwoman of CHERUB, watched him with a steady gaze. "I might have an idea."

…..

And that was how it came to be, that on the day of the Jubilee concert, 60 of CHERUB's best agents found themselves in the crowd at the concert, strategically placed to be surrounding the royal box on all sides. All were equipped with Bluetooth earpieces allowing them to communicate with any of the other agents, adults and children alike, along with some of the higher ranking police officials at any given moment.

James, Kerry and Lauren had found themselves dead in front of the box itself, right in front of some of the most senior royals, well, to say found would suggest some level of chance, in actual fact this arrangement was the result of around 18 months planning and training and briefing, there was no chance involved, everything had been planned to the tiniest detail. Despite the excitement of the day however, and the amount of other security none of the three could attempt to relax and enjoy the music, no matter how much Lauren may have liked JLS, or Kerry Will. .

All of a sudden James spotted a familiar blond head in the crowd, but it couldn't be, could it? Would he really be here? Then the head turned towards him and James caught a glimpse of his face. Alex. He looked older than 6 months ago at the Brecon Beacons, still dressed in the same army combats though, no visible weapon, but knowing Alex, James was certain that he would have at least 2 or 3 stashed on his person, even though he didn't seem to be here working, which probably made a change for the boy, just being allowed to relax was probably a foreign concept for him by this point. Still, James hoped that he was somewhat happier now than he had been when they left him there on that fateful day 6 months ago.

Alex turned away and James shook the memories out of his head. He had a job to do. He had to make sure they were all still standing by the end of the night.

Yes, very very not long, but I was using it as a bit of inspiration so I could find the last 1000 words or so of Interesting to get it finished. Thank you very much and I will see you guys soon
