Tony led Steve down the long hallway to his room. Tony paused at the closed door. A thought struck him as he placed his hand on the doorknob: all of his clothes were still on the floor.

Tony turned to Steve. "Maybe we should go to your room."

"We're already here. Why can't we go in your room?" Steve asked confused.

"I had a little trouble getting dressed for our date," Tony admitted while looking down at the floor.

"Okay," Steve said while furrowing his eyebrows.

Tony looked up at Steve. "Let's just go to your room. I'm sure we'd be more comfortable there."

"Tony, my room is small with a twin sized bed. I think your vast room with its huge bed would be more comfortable."

Tony sighed and opened the door to his room. All of his clothes were still sitting on the floor in a big pile. Steve looked around at the mess Tony had made and laughed.

Tony looked at Steve like he was crazy. "What's so funny?"

Steve turned towards Tony and wrapped his arms around him. "It's nice to know that you were as nervous as I was."

After a moment of confusion, Tony reached his arms up and wrapped them around Steve's neck.

"The Captain America was nervous about a little date? I find that very hard to believe," Tony mocked.

Steve rolled his eyes. "Yes, even 'The Man With A Plan' gets nervous."

Tony smiled as he stared into Steve's eyes. He never realized just how amazingly blue they were. Tony had never been this up close to Steve's face to really see all the wonderful things that resided there. Like the freckle on his right lower cheek and the one in the middle of his left cheek. And the few scattered on his neck. Tony let his eyes roam the contours of Steve's face making them a part of his permanent memory.

Steve smiled at Tony. He too was enjoying being close enough to Tony's face to admire his features. He was able to see a few more worry lines that weren't there when Tony was sleeping. Steve followed the lines around Tony's eyes and settled on the deep brown irises that had a great likeness and intensity of Howard Stark's. Beyond that, Steve could see the softness that Tony had just begun to show Steve. Steve's moved his eyes down to trace the cut of Tony's facial hair. He wondered what Tony would look like without it.

Tony noticed the change in Steve's eyes. "What are you thinking about?"

Steve lifted his eyes back to Tony's. "Just about how handsome you would be without your facial hair."

Tony lifted an eyebrow. "Oh, really. Well, I have my facial hair insured so there will be no shaving it off."

"Okay, Tony." Steve chuckled.

Tony cocked his head towards the bedroom to indicate to Steve that they should take their conversation inside the room. Steve nodded and dropped his arms from around Tony. Tony did the same as he led the super soldier into his bedroom.

"Let me just get rid of this ugly pile of clothes," Tony said as he grabbed a chunk of his clothes pile and threw it on his closet floor.

Steve shook his head. "Tony, you are the worst cleaner I've ever seen."

Tony threw a few more shirts in his closet before answering. "Well, that's why I have a cleaning crew. Makes my life much easier."

"Here, let me help you." Steve said as he began picking up a few pieces of clothing. "They're still on their hangers, Tony. All you have to do is hang them back on the racks."

Tony grabbed his clothes from Steve's hands. "I'll do it later. Go sit on the bed."

Steve sighed and followed Tony's orders. He walked around the diminishing pile of clothes and sat down on the corner of Tony's neatly made bed. Steve thought it was funny that everything else but the floor was clean in Tony's room. He watched Tony as he threw the last few pieces of clothing in the closet and closed the door. Tony looked around to make sure that everything was picked up before walking over to the bedroom door and closing it.

Tony turned his attention to Steve who was sitting on his bed. Steve Rogers was sitting on his bed. Captain-freaking-America was sitting on his bed half naked. Tony could feel his heart racing as different scenarios played out in his head all within a matter of seconds. Steve stared back at Tony wondering what he was thinking about but did not dare ask. Steve recalled the last time he asked what Tony was thinking about and blushed.

Tony slowly made his way over to his bed and sat down on the foot of his bed leaving space between him and Steve. Steve had his hands resting on either side of him on the bed. Tony stared at the hand closest to him and thought about grabbing it. Slowly, Tony moved his hand and placed it on top of Steve's.

Steve looked down at Tony's hand on top of his and a smiled tugged at the corners of his mouth. Neither of them moved or said a word for a few moments. Then, Steve looked up and used his free hand to cup Tony's face. Tony looked up and pushed his face into Steve's hand.

In that moment, both Steve and Tony had the same thought rushing in their heads. They knew that everything that had happened to them had to happen to them so that they could have this moment with each other.

Steve stared into Tony's eyes and knew that he was where he was meant to be with who he was meant to be with. Tony's look seemed to mirror his thoughts.

Tony stared into Steve's eyes. It took every ounce of Tony's self-restraint to keep himself from pouncing on Steve. Steve moved his face slowly towards Tony never taking his eyes off of Tony's. When he was inches away from Tony's face, Steve paused drinking in the palpable anticipation emanating from Tony. Steve smiled and chuckled as he closed distance between him and Tony. As soon as Steve's lips touched Tony's Tony let out a low moan. Steve pushed Tony down on the bed and shifted his body to be on top of Tony's.

Tony pushed at Steve's chest slightly to break apart their embrace a little. "Are you sure you want to keep going?"

Steve smiled down at Tony. "I'm sure."

Tony smiled and pulled Steve back down to continue what they started.
