A/N

Probably apparent, but I'll specify regardless that this is based on the intro to Soul Calibur III, namely Nightmare's role in it.

Of Blood and Azure

Mighty in name, all seeking glory,

All were approaching the end of their story.

Upon Azure Knight, the golden sun shone,

Inferno's wrath, mortal shackles long gone.

Down came the soldiers, the Empire's splendour,

Against one called Nightmare, they would defend her.

Tens and then dozens, in armour clad,

Axes to grind, swords ready to stab.

The knight stood his ground, the underlings charged,

They shouted, they screamed, they battered, they barged.

Nightmare stood his ground, under sun at high noon,

The foe didn't know it, but they were all doomed.

Soul Edge cut through them, their flesh was defiled,

Some soldiers hung back, from this knight reviled.

Yet more came to the fray, ignoring their fear,

Laying lives on the line to protect ones held dear.

The swords came up, the bodies fell down,

Armour and blood hitting the green ground.

Soon it was over, Nightmare still stood,

In sight of sun, sky and near woods.

Their souls were harvested, but he needed more,

His hunger was endless, more intense than before.

Soon he would find yet another fray,

And all mortals would suffer from nightmarish gaze.
