A rather short one shot of Treize and Lady Une.

Please enjoy and comments are always welcome ^_^

French tipped nails slowly ran their edge across the velvet bud of a freshly bloomed rose. Their deep red colors making the bright white and soft pink of the nail stand out even brighter. Smooth ivory skin hovered only inches away from the opening of the flower, as they took in its wonderful sent.

"Simply beautiful." Came a voice from the other side of the room

"I dare say this is the best bouquet which has come from the garden this year alone."

A soft smile played on the other's lips as they watched them move away from the roses and take a seat at the small tea table that was placed outside to enjoy the fresh air for the day. Their brown hair which was normally braided and pinned up was undone and flowing down their back, curling softly at the ends. The military uniform traded in for a simple, yet elegant summer dress which had modesty to it in its tea length hem. Brown eyes stood out even brighter with the glasses gone from their face and the smallest amount of makeup highlighted their cheeks and lips. Slim fingers curled around the handle of the cup, picking it up gently and parting their lips to take a small sip. His smile couldn't help but climb higher as those brown eyes shifted in his direction asking without words for him to join. Did he ever really need an invitation to join her? Even out of uniform the man dressed in an elegant way fitting to his aristocratic blood. Fresh pressed dark gray suit pants with a white button up shirt, clean, bleached, and starched to bring out its brightest of color, and a matching dark gray vest and black tie and polished shoes; well it was easy to say even out of uniform the man knew how to dress and impress. His blue eyes watched her for a few moments longer before gracefully walking over and joining her at the table. It was nothing more than a simple breakfast set on the table, not as flashy as the lunch and dinner, but still beautiful in its own way. Carefully he picked up the china glass cup and took in the aroma of the fresh, strong black breakfast tea. To say he was a man of simple taste would be insulting. His tasted matched everything else in his life and if it didn't line up right it wasn't even worth so much as a bat of his eyes. Even during a time of war it was nice to relax, just the two of them, and have a something as simple as a cup of tea.

"The atmosphere here on Earth is lovely and feels inviting, though space has its beauty too that is just as breath taking." She said with a smile

"Both Earth and space are amazing places. I wish that one day everyone can see just how truly beautiful everything around them is, even those boys."

"Don't you think they know that already?" She questioned

"Not yet, but when they do those boys will be able to do things that not even they dreamed they could."

"Lord Treize you speak almost as if you want those boys to become something more than what they are."

"I want that from everyone dear Lady." He said in a kind, but matter of fact tone

A small laugh slipped past her lips which caused him to smile once more. To want to have things better than they are is what everyone dreams of deep down, as far as Treize was concerned. And though nothing was where he wanted it he would continue to work at it at his best to try and make a better world for everyone. For now though he would sit down and have a cup of tea, a pleasant conversation, and a thing of beauty by his side even if they mistook his words thinking they were for the roses.
