Bolin was welling with pride the evening of the Pro-bending semi-final match. That night, as spectators were pouring into the arena, he thought it would be a good idea to follow up the previous night's date with Korra. He had bought a gorgeous bouquet of flowers, and was going to ask her to be his girlfriend. He just couldn't hold back the feelings anymore and decided to act fast.

He found the Avatar in one of the gazebos by the edge of the island which housed the arena. She appeared to be deep in thought, looking out towards the city. But she was also alone, the perfect chance for Bolin to make his move.

He walked up to Korra, and she was startled when he said "Well hello, gorgeous." The Avatar whipped her head around to see the earthbender smiling at her, then the beautiful bouquet caught her eyes. "Oh, Bolin, those look great!" she exclaimed, amazed that he brought her flowers. Korra was genuinely surprised that someone would buy her flowers, as she was still dealing with her self-worth problems, thanks to Mako. But she'd forget all about Mako pretty soon.

He handed her the flowers, then began his big move. "So, I...had a really good time last night. I really enjoyed getting to spend time with you." He hated how sheepish he sounded, and tried to force some of his usual confidence into his voice. Before he could say anymore, Korra said, "Me too. Its nice to get to bond outside of the arena. And... I think we should do that again sometime." As she finished, she gave a smile that gave Bolin the nerve to finish what he came here for. He replied, "Well, speaking of doing that again, I have something to ask. Um, Korra, would...would you be my girlfriend?" He looked away as soon as he finished, half-expecting rejection. Luckily, he wasn't shot down like Korra was by his brother. She said enthusiastically, "Of course! To tell you the truth, I've kind of liked you since we met. I figured I should wait for you to make the first move... I guess that worked out for me." Bolin was elated at his teammate's answer, and once he got over the initial shock, he said, "Well, now that we are officially Borra, let's get in the arena and kick some Rabba-roo butt!"

And with that, the happy couple made their way to the arena, to meet an easy victory over their opponents.
