The bell rang as all the children ran outside for recess and it was such a beautiful day outside that the children couldn't wait to go out and enjoy the warm weather. Fletcher however wasn't looking forward to going outside, because he had always hated recess. He wasn't much for athletics or running around with other members of his class. He would rather stay inside and read a good book, but the teachers wouldn't allow him to stay inside and waste his youth reading books. They demanded that got some sort of exercise beyond confounds of P.E and on his own accords. Despite how much he disliked doing anything physical he silently and reluctantly went outside and scowled as he saw his peers run around like they didn't have a care in the world. Fletcher however had a different plan in mind. He had brought a book along with him and he decided that if he was going to be forced to be outside at least he would do something that he liked to do rather than something that was forced upon him. He pulled out William Shakespeare's 'Romeo and Juliet' it was his favorite play of all time, and he wasn't sure why he loved Shakespeare's works so much, because most people of his age range couldn't understand the complexity of his writing style, but Fletcher understood everything and loved every scene and act of this dramatic play. He currently was at the part where they just had relations and Juliet told him he had to go before her parents found him here.

His concentration was disrupted when a ball came flying at him knocking the book out of his hands. He stood up angrily as he picked up his now dirty book and the ball that lay next to it. He turned to see none other than Gabe Duncan and the rest of his idiotic friends looking at him as he held the ball. One of them motioned for him to throw the ball to them, and as much as Fletcher would love to get passive aggressive revenge on these boys for their constant torment he knew it was best to play it off like it never happened. He slowly rolled the ball back to them as Gabe smiled at him. Fletcher had always loved Gabe's smile because he could never have a perfect smile like that. Fletcher wouldn't say he loved the smile, but rather envied it. He envied everything about Gabe, because Gabe was everything that he wasn't Gabe was athletic, he wasn't smart, he was popular, and he knew how to have fun. Fletcher DID have fun in his daily life, but it seemed Gabe would always have a little more fun than him. Fletcher sighed and returned to his book, and maybe this was why he connected so well with Shakespeare, because Shakespeare was misunderstood just like Fletcher and he believed that intelligence was more important than athletics. That theater and acting was more important than being popular.

"Why are you sitting by yourself again? Fletcher, I know how much you love reading, but books can't be your only friends," A young girl said as Fletcher looked up to see Mitsu and Max his two best friends. Mitsu was a nice Asian girl who had always protected him ever since they were in third grade. He name meant light and she was truly enlightening. She had long flowing black hair and slightly pale skin. She was wearing a pair of cowboy boots, a pair of jeans, and a dark blouse. Max was his best and only guy friend, because he as well as Mitsu always protects him. He had short brown hair, and tanned brown skin. He was Hispanic and was wearing converse shoes, cargo shorts, and a blue t-shirt.

"Mitsu, books will always stay the same, books will always tell you the truth, and you can always rely on books," Fletcher said back not looking up from his book. Max sighed and sat down next to Fletcher and wrapped his arm around him. Max cared about Fletcher, but sometimes it was so hard to care about someone who didn't make an effort to come out of their shell.

"Fletcher, we're your friends and we care about you. We heard the teachers talking and they said if you didn't start becoming more active they'll have to do something," Max said with obvious care in his voice, and this caused Fletcher to look up from his book and bookmark his page. He got up and sighed a she began to pace. He always paced when he was thinking.

"They can't do anything, because it's not like I'm overweight," Fletcher rationalized trying to think of ways to get out of this without actually having to do anything physical.

"Well, here's the thing Fletcher," Mitsu said getting up and stopping him from pacing, "You know Gabe right?"

"Yes, of course, who doesn't know Mr. Modesty?" Fletcher said with his voice dripping with sarcasm, and this caused Max to chuckle a bit, because he thought Fletcher's comment was funny. Mitsu gave him a threatening look and he shut up.

"Well, he's doing so badly in school that they're thinking of pairing you too up. You'll tutor him and he'll get you more popular and more physically active," Mitsu said it delicately and slowly as to not rush the whole thing onto Fletcher. Fletcher's eyes widened as he couldn't believe this was happening. He didn't believe it they wouldn't actually force him to tutor the biggest tool in school. He began to panic and hyperventilate. He tried to calm down. He tried to believe that everything was going to work out and he wouldn't actually have to tutor him, but who was he kidding? He was the most non-athletic kid in the school. He didn't even rank himself with the overweight people because they didn't count as far as he was concerned. He didn't understand why they didn't get a fat kid to do this.

"Why does it have to be me? Why can't it be an overweight kid? This doesn't make any sense guys, and I really don't want to tutor that tool. He's so annoying, doesn't do his homework, and cheats on every single exam. It makes me so angry that I could hit him, but I'm not violent so I would never do that. Then again if I did fight him it might show them that I am athletic and then I wouldn't have to tutor him. Then again it might get me suspended instead of helping," Fletcher began to rant and Mitsu slapped him.

"Get ahold of yourself Fletcher! You'll be fine they'll never make you actually do this. They'll realize that this is completely ridiculous. Plus, your parents will never agree to this," Mitsu said reassuring him, and Mitsu was completely correct. His parents would never, ever allow this.

The bell rang again marking the end of recess and Fletcher was excited to go to his last couple of periods which happened to be science and then math. He loved those two subjects even more than he loved English class. He walked into his class with Mitsu and Max by his side and he felt popular, and even though he knew that he wasn't popular and a lot of people didn't know who he was or those who do thought he was a nerd. He didn't care what people thought about him in this instance, because in this instance he was on top of the world. Everyone was looking at him when he walked into the class room. He didn't know why they were looking at him, but all he knew that they were watching and he was going to make use of all the 'fame' he was getting. Mitsu scoffed as she pointed to his desk where someone had written 'faggot' on it. Fletcher walked over quickly and tried to take it off with his sleeve, but it seemed to be on there for good. He growled and looked around to see who did it. He looked at Gabe and his group of friends. He usually was such a calm and nice person, but he couldn't believe that one of them would write such a word on his desk.

He slammed his book on his desk rather violently, and Max already knew where this was going and he walked over and held Fletcher back. Max told him it wasn't worth it, but he didn't care, because he was tired of the idiotic torture they put him through every single day. He was tired to playing the victim. He walked over to Gabe's little coterie of friends and they all looked at him and began to laugh. Max walked over too and Mitsu stayed close behind because they didn't know where this was going and this could turn violent real quickly. Fletcher looked at Gabe and couldn't believe he ever envied him. He was nothing more than a lowly punk who had nothing better to do, but to torment other people.

"Which one of you did that to my desk?" Fletcher asked angrily and they all looked at each other and chuckled so much.

"Calm down book worm, we were just playing around," Gabe said and Fletcher grabbed the collar of Gabe's shirt and shoved him against the wall. They were all taken aback by how violent Fletcher got, because it was so not like him to do something like that. Even Gabe felt a little frightened in the arms of Fletcher.

"Listen here you waste of a human begins. I am so fucking tired of all the shit you do, you walk around here like you're the king or something, but let me tell you something. You're not royalty. You don't deserve to treat me or anyone else like your doormat because you think you can. Or is it something else causing you to do it? Are you jealous of me Gabe? Do you wish you were as smart as I am? Do you wish people didn't look up to you as much? Can you not handle the pressure of your own ego anymore? Or is it because you're angry about something? I think I know why you're so angry that you torment others, because internally you're tormenting yourself by hiding the fact that you are a homosexual. That's right everyone. Gabe is gay, aren't you Gabe, and you're just too afraid to admit it," Fletcher said and Gabe looked into his eyes. He couldn't believe that Fletcher had called him out. He couldn't believe that Fletcher had found him out because he thought he was doing such an amazing job of hiding it. He looked around at his friends, his, and even Fletcher's friends faces and realized they were judging him. Gabe wasn't about to lose his reputation over this kid's little rant.

"You wish that were true, don't you Fletcher?" Gabe said and Fletcher was taken aback by that statement. He was so taken aback that he actually dropped Gabe, "Oh that's it isn't it? You're gay and you want me to be gay because you're in love with me. I see how it is Fletcher. I can say that I'm flattered that both guys and girls find me attractive, but I'm sorry I like girls. So go back to your little fantasies, because you'll never have me," Gabe said smiling at Fletcher. Fletcher snapped and punched Gabe in the face, and Gabe chuckled a bit and punched Fletcher back ten times harder. Fletcher than jumped on top of Gabe and they began to fight as everyone around them chanted 'fight fight fight!'.

Soon the teacher arrived and pulled Fletcher off of Gabe and Max held Fletcher back, because Mac could sweat that Fletcher was ready to kill Gabe. The teacher held back Gabe, because Gabe was also ready to kill Fletcher. They both knew about the other and neither of them was able to accept the facts. Fletcher knew he liked boys, and he had some feelings for Gabe, but they were never too big, because of how big of an ass Gabe is, and Gabe knew that he liked boys, but he didn't know that anyone else knew. Gabe growled at Fletcher who kept on flailing his arms trying to hit Gabe. The teacher sent them both to the principal's office as they both knew where this was about to go. They walked to the main office in silence and each of them kept ample distance from the other fearing of another fight.

They were directly ordered to go into the principal's office and their parents had already been notified. Ms. Harmony, the principal sat behind her desk frowning as they both entered. Ms. Harmony had long black hair and was of African American dissent. She was wearing a formal business suit and looked very disappointed as they walked in. She motioned for them both to take a seat, and as they took their seats they refused to look at each other. Ms. Harmony was very angry and didn't even know what to say.

"Fletcher, I could expect this behavior from Gabe, but not from you. I'm very disappointed," Ms. Harmony said to Fletcher who looked at the ground.

"Sorry Ma'am," Fletcher said as he continued to look at the ground, and Gabe couldn't believe that she would expect him to be the one fighting.

"Now, why did you even think to lay your hands on Gabe?" She asked Fletcher who looked up instantly and then glared at Gabe with anger.

"He wrote Faggot on my desk, and it wouldn't come off," Fletcher said and Gabe growled and looked away crossing his arms.

"Gabe is this true?" She asked him and Gabe sighed and turned to face her.

"Yes Ma'am," Gabe said now feeling bad and began looking at the ground.

"So, being angered by what he wrote you confronted Gabe, and then you said something to him that must have offended him, because he said something to you to make you drop him. Then you hit him and he hit you back, and then you two started wrestling. Is that correct?" She said trying to clarify what happened.

"He said I was in love with him, and wanted to do things with him that I have never done in my life," Fletcher said instantly trying to play the victim. Gabe's eyes widened and couldn't believe he would try to pin everything on him.

"Only because you called me gay first, Fletcher," Gabe said angrily and Fletcher stood up and turned towards Gabe.

"I did not! You're nothing but a dirty liar who's trying to ruin my name!" Fletcher yelled and Gabe growled and stood up as well.

"You did too, and you're nothing but a dirty liar who can't take responsibility for his actions!" Gabe yelled and Fletcher gasped.

"Oh now you didn't," Fletcher said.

"Oh yes I did," Gabe responded.

"Enough arguing you two, and please take your seats," Ms. Harmony said as they sat reluctantly, "Alright I have had enough of you two hating each other. I have already spoken to both of your parents and they both agree on what I'm about to say. We're going to try something new, and this will hopefully help you two get along better. Tomorrow we're going to handcuff you two together and you'll be handcuffed 24/7 and you only get uncuffed to shower and dress. Do you understand?" She said.

"What you can't-," Fletcher began before she raised her hand.

"No another word," She replied.

"But-," Gabe began.

"No buts, you're dismissed," She said as they left her office.
