"PRINCESS!" I shout as I burst through the doors to the throne room.
"Finn, what do you think you are doing?" Bubblegum yells as she gets up from her seat, banana guards rushing to her side.
"Me?" I laugh. "What in Glob's name do you think you're doing?"
I pull out the wanted poster and throw it at her feet. Resting my sword on my shoulder as she picks it up.
"Oh, that." She says as she looks over the paper. "It's a wanted poster against an enemy of our kingdom."
"Why won't you see that she isn't our enemy?" I slam the point of my sword into the ground.
"You went over to their side, you were almost killed. Why are you trying to defend them?" she shouts at me.
"Fiona helped me, she did nothing wrong. And aren't you acting the same way. You are treating Fiona the same way they treated me. You're no better than them, yet you try to justify your actions." I yank my sword out of the floor and glare at her. "I'm leaving."
"Finn wait," The Princess calls to me as I'm just about out the door.
"I'm sorry but… Finn the Human, I place you under arrest for harbouring a wanted criminal, you punishment will be decided upon later. Guards, seize him."
"So it's come to this." I mutter as I start running.

I run down the palace stairs, taking them three at a time, and quickly gain some distance from the banana guards chasing me. Luckily, the Gumball guardians don't seem like they are going to start chasing me.
After winding my way through the streets I finally reach one of the gates leading out, and of course, it's closed.
Damn, how am I meant to get out of here now?
I lean my back against a building and slide down it. From where I'm hiding I can clearly see the gate, while the shadows of the buildings above me provide good cover.
"Boo."
A voice behind me whispers, and before I can scream out in fear and hand covers my mouth.
"That would have been very unsubtle," I slowly turn my head and see Marceline floating behind me.
"What are you doing here?" I ask, pulling her hand away from my mouth.
"This and that. But that's not important," she says, floating in front of me. "What is important is how much trouble you are in."
"Oh, so you know about that," I take a step back, ready to run.
"Don't you even try to run from me, I'm here to help you." She pushes open the door to the building I was hiding behind and signals for me to enter.
"Listen, it isn't her fault. This wasn't meant to happen for a long time to come. She is under a lot of stress." Marceline kicks a mat out of the way, revealing a trap door.
"This will lead you outside the walls, once out, take that girl with you and hide. I don't care where, just lay low for a few days, that's all we need."
I nod and grab a hold of the ladder leading down the trap door. I'm just below floor level when Marceline puts her hand on the cover and starts to lower it.
"Please don't blame the Princess," she whispers as the door slams.

(A/N. Another quick chapter update. The chapters will be short for a small time, but this is just to help me get back into the habit of writing. And is it actually working. I can't remember the last time I sat down for a length of time and just wrote. Boy does it feel good. Anyway, the chapters will get longer from here on out and I will hopefully talk to you guys soon. –Neil)
