Well guys, we've been through so much together.

Daniel: No we haven't!

Zoea: This is only, what, the eighth chapter?

Fiammetta: Well, would YOU want 18 chapters of terrible romance filler?

I didn't think so.

But, alas, everyone. TDW has come to its final chapter.

Enjoy!

~Aether~

"M'lord, a messenger has arrived from the Overworld. He wishes for an audience." The servant recited to Notch, fulfilling his duty.

"Granted." Notch waved his hand, in a dismissive way. As the servant rushed out of the room, the lord of the Aether turned to his daughter. "I hope this will be somewhat informative. If you are to rule the Aether someday, you should know how to hold an audience with messengers and the like."

Zoea simply nodded, not exactly happy, but content with the punishment of having to trail her father around almost everywhere. It was better than being locked in a tower for a few weeks. She'd seen it happen before.

It had been 3 weeks since "Zoea's Great Escape", and Zoea was getting used to being dragged around everywhere.

The servant returned promptly, the messenger following. Notch turned back to the room, as the servant announced the messenger.

"Lord Notch, thank you greatly for the audience." The messenger thanked, before continuing. "I come bearing both good news and bad. The good news is that your wife, Lady Zoea's mother, has been found." This earned gasps from everyone in the room. Zoea was stunned. Her mother, the woman who gave birth to her, who Zoea had presumed dead until found, had been found. She didn't know how to feel.

But there was more. "She is not in the Nether, as thought." There was silence for a moment as the messenger paused. "And now, the bad news. She is in another realm. A realm whose stories are told around a campfire. She's in…" He took a deep breath, as if pausing for dramatic effect. Then he told everyone what he knew, and silence reigned in the castle.

"The nightmare realm."

~Nether~

Similarly, the near-exact same event took place in the Nether, with Daniel and Herobrine and the court hearing the news. Their reactions, however, were much different.

"This, this is excellent." Herobrine stated, a smile appearing on his face. "My brother cannot stand the nightmare realm's terrain and mobs, we, however, live in the same conditions every day. We will rescue her, and she will be so grateful, she wouldn't ever leave my side for anything! Notch would be crushed!" He exclaimed, standing. "Come, let us go and retrieve her! Prepare the troops for a siege on the nightmare realm!"

"Father-" Daniel started, concerned, before being interrupted.

"Daniel, you are coming along, but you are not allowed out of my sight." Herobrine said firmly. "Now, let us go and prepare!"

A chorus of "Yes, Lord Herobrine." Rang out around the room.

A day later, both parties were ready to go to the nightmare realm. And off they set, to rescue the one they loved that had been taken from them.

~Nightmare Realm~

Both groups appeared at the same moment, not too distant from each other. Notch and Herobrine's eyes locked, full of shock, determination, and anger.

"CHARGE!"

Almost an hour later, the battle still raged, both sides seeming to forget their original objective. Zoea's lightning knifes running low, and her Phyg long grown tired, she abandoned her safer post behind and above the combatants to join them on the ground.

Taking down several men of the other side, she ran towards her father, who appeared to be losing his battle with his brother. Notch fell, his sword flying multiple blocks away, rendering him defenseless. Herobrine readied his sword to plunge it into his brother's chest, when Zoea screamed.

"DAD! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!"

As Herobrine let his sword fall, she jumped in between the duo, sacrificing herself for her father. The sword impaled her, and she fell to the ground, her life rapidly draining away.

Two voices called out, "Zoea!" as Daniel raced to her side. It seemed that the entire battle had ceased, if only to watch this scene play out.

"Daniel…" She whispered, "I'm sorry…" A tear ran down her face as the last of her life drained, and she went limp in his arms.

"No… It-it can't be…" he cried, as tears began to run anew.

A small orb of white light appeared only blocks away from them, growing larger until it was big enough for an entire person. As the light dissipated, a youthful maiden appeared, with silvery hair and piercing emerald green eyes. She stepped toward Daniel and the lifeless body of Zoea, her black and red dress swishing around her feet. Kneeling, she felt for a pulse, without luck. Closing her eyes, she spoke.

"Didn't you come here to find your lost loved ones? If so, why do you fight one another?" She pointed northward. "They're over that way. Now get going."

As she spoke, two women appeared over the northern horizon.

"Amaia?" Herobrine asked almost no one.

"Elsaia? Could it be?" Notch revealed his thoughts.

The two women respectively went to the Lords of the Nether and Aether, and they embraced.

"Brother…" Herobrine began. "I-I'm so sorry. I was so blinded by rage, I-I-I-"

"It is my own fault as well, brother. Can we simply not forgive one another?"

"That, I suppose we can do." Herobrine held out his hand. "Forgiven?"

Notch swallowed Herobrine in a hug. "Forgiven."

At that, the girl turned back to Zoea's body, and began to utter a spell, making Zoea's body disappear, just as another orb appeared next to them, and out of the orb stepped Zoea, actually alive, though quite weak. Daniel ran forward to support her, as her legs collapsed from under her.

"Oh, Zoea!" He cried, a smile forming on his face, tears streaming down his face, "Oh, thank you, thank y-" He turned, but the maiden had disappeared. Then a small, quiet voice floated through the air.

"Oh, you're quite welcome."
