Fireworks From A Gentleman
"Hong Kong! England is here to see you, aru!"
The young nation set down his early afternoon tea before standing up and heading toward the parlor where guests are received. Hong Kong slid the door open and immediately locked eyes with the Englishman that once owned him. He cautiously approached the low table and sat across from the blonde-haired nation. China saw fit to leave the room, allowing both nations some privacy.
"Well, first off. I'd like to wish you a 'happy birthday', Hong Kong. I know it may seem strange, but I do still care for all of my former colonies."
The Asian boy remained as solemn-faced as ever. Staring at the self-proclaimed gentleman in complete silence, waiting for the older nation to continue. With a quick breath and a slightly nervous glance to the floor on his right, England gestured toward the door.
"China told me that you'd rather stay cooped up in your room today. But we'll see about that after you've opened your present." The former pirate handed the Asian nation a package which was moderate in size but felt a bit heavy.
Hong Kong cautiously tore the wrapping paper away, and opened the cardboard box. Peering inside, the younger nation recognized the content of the package. There were lots of fireworks. Some were legal, and some were not. Then, he swore he heard the sound of a matchbox shaking. The birthday nation curiously looked up at England before his breath suddenly hitched.
A pirate-like grin was on the Englishman's face, and mischief danced in his green eyes. "Let's see you put on a real show with those."
AN: 272 words. I don't think Hong Kong gets enough love. So here's a little something for him. Even though it's also a bit late. Thank you for reading.
