I know it has been 4 years as of tomorrow since this story has been touched. More than three years since I've been writing anything on fanfiction. People do continue to keep adding this to favourites and alerts, which was what prompted me to put this short message up. Quest of Truth is not abandoned and I intend to pick up the story (heavily revised) from Summer 2017. The premise will be similar but I will potentially be bringing together later plot revelations from both Naruto and Fairy Tail.

Disclaimer: I own nothing.

[drabble – 5 minutes worth so that I'm not breaking the rules by posting a non-chapter.]

The burden of responsibility rested heavily even on the shoulders of those used to it. Naruto Uzumaki swallowed down a yawn, blinking rapidly to try and chase away the heaviness of his eyelids. There was no escaping two entire days of strenuous action and not a single instance of sleep and the twenty-nine-year old's body and mind were ready to give in. Sheer willpower alone was all that kept him awake.

Except he couldn't sleep now, not when the Wizard Saint was expected for a meeting with the Council in a few hours hence. Guran Doma wouldn't care if Naruto had been up for days running Guild missions and Rune Knight business simultaneously. Doing everything in his power to pay the way for Fairy Tail to keep the guild premises for when the others returned.

Even after three years, losing faith wasn't an option. To deny that the top wizards of Fairy Tail could survive the attack of Acnologia would be an insult to each and every single one of them. Naruto wouldn't doubt them for even a single second.

Naruto tapped the hardwood desk, ignoring the paperwork piling on his desk. He missed having Tenten about to push him into keeping his desk in order, his former second in command happily settled at Lamia Scale, enjoying being in the same guild as her husband of a year. Tenten and Jura Neekis had been a surprise, yet not nearly as much as Nejaa Neekis that had followed six months after the wedding.

Everybody but Fairy Tail were moving forwards, putting behind whatever had happened in the past. It was almost as if the lost mages of Fairy Tail had never been some of the most popular in Fiore. Already replaced with new idols as if Erza and the rest had never even existed. However, Naruto and the rest of Fairy Tail would never forget any of them.

There were the little things like buying Lucy's tiny apartment so that she'd have a home when she came back. Picking up spare clothes for Gray, storing them under the bar for when he inevitably stripped himself into nothing. Gajeel's guitar resting on the wall as if he'd be picking it up any day now. A pile of Levy's books collected from all over the guild were all stacked on a shelf waiting for her to reclaim them.

No matter what happened Fairy Tail would believe that they were coming home.
