FINALLY! The finale! Really sorry for the long delay. What can I say? Life sucks sometimes...but I never forgot about this! Will eventually finish my other TW fic, for those of you who have read it. Anywho...on to the end!

Disclaimer: Don't own Teen Wolf or anyone in it. If I did, I'd be busy having way too much fun doing other stuff. ^_~

Bonded by Fate

Epilogue

Jackson looked up at the sky. The moon was rising fast. It wouldn't be long now.

"How are you feeling?" Derek placed a comforting hand on his shoulder.

"Ok, I guess. A little nervous," Jackson shrugged. "It still feels kind of surreal you know? A couple weeks ago, my life was completely different."

Derek nodded, "Yeah. I still can't believe it, either." A couple weeks ago Derek didn't care if Jackson lived or died, preferred him dead in fact. And now there wasn't anything more important to him in this world.

And they were still amazed, very happily so, that Chris pulling out the wires actually worked.

~Flashback~

Stiles poked his head out from behind the machinery he, Scott and Allison had used for cover. "Nothing happened. Wasn't there supposed to be a big kaboom?" He made a exploding gesture with his hands.

"Derek? Jackson?" Scott called out.

"Dad?" Allison got up and rushed towards the cage.

"We're ok, it worked. I can't believe it worked," Chris enveloped Allison in a huge hug.

On the floor, Derek and Jackson smiled at each other, relief evident in their eyes.

"Alright, let's get you out of this thing," Derek said.

It wasn't until Jackson had been freed that they noticed that Gerard had gotten away.

"When he fell, I thought he'd died," Jackson said.

"So much for wishful thinking," Derek remarked and a dark smile appeared on his face. "But I promise you this, he's suffering."

Following the trail of blood out of the warehouse, Scott wondered aloud, "Where could he have gone?"

"I don't know," Chris answered. "We have a number of safe houses and he has a lot of connections. So I'm sure he'll turn up eventually."

~End flashback~

"Where do you think he is?" Jackson asked. There was no need to specify who he was.

"Rotting in hell, if there's any justice in the world," Derek replied.

"Except there isn't," Jackson countered. "I know the ash made him reject the bite, but do you think he'll turn into something else? Like I did?"

Derek rolled his eyes at the thought, "God, I hope not. The Argents are looking for him so let's just let them worry about it…at least for now. We need to get you ready."

They walked towards the abandoned train car where the others were waiting and even as Derek chained Jackson to the seat, he could see the calm in his eyes. As if whatever had been weighing him down was gone and he was at peace. And Derek realized that he himself felt as if he'd lost a lot of the baggage he'd been carrying as well.

"I'm ready," Jackson assured him. And Derek knew that he was.

The sky was lit bright by the rising full moon when Derek walked outside. He stretched out the kinks in his back from all the stress he had been suffering these past few days. He expects that things will go extremely well tonight and that Jackson's first full moon will pass without incident.

For the first time in a long time, Derek began to think about the future. Began to think that he could actually have a future.

Suddenly he heard a noise behind him and turned just in time to see a cloud of purple powder being blown into his face. And was that...Lydia?

And then, there was nothing.

Derek groaned as he slowly regained consciousness. His head ached and he could barely open his eyes. What the hell did Lydia give him? He was in his old house. Why was he in his old house? And what was that noise?

Derek turned to see Lydia frantically ripping up the floorboards with her bare hands. She had a crazed possessed look in her eyes.

Lydia rose and walked towards Derek. She leaned down and grabbed his arm, dragging him towards the hole she had opened in the floor. A hole approximately where Derek had buried Peter when he killed him.

"Lydia...Lydia...Lydia, stop," Derek pleaded desperately, though he was still so drowsy it came out barely as a murmur. "You don't know what you're doing," he warned even as he felt her position his arm in the hole.

As he felt the full moon rise into its apex in the night sky, Derek felt sharp claws grip his arm and pierce his skin. He felt his blood dripping down towards his wrist and lapped up with a ravenous tongue. A few moments later, his arm was released and Peter burst out from beneath the floorboards.

Now out of her trance and the drug having mostly worn off, Lydia and Derek both hastily backed away from Peter, their eyes widening in fear. How was this possible? How could a werewolf come back to life? Derek had never heard of such a thing.

"Well well well, it looks like we've got a new wolf pup in our family," Peter smirked. "I don't know how I could have missed it. Must have been out of my mind. Oh, that's right, I really was out of my mind. Hmmm… I can't wait to properly welcome him into the family," he said with a wolfish smile.

~Fin

Yeah, it got kinda sappy between the guys. And sorry for the cliffhanger-ish ending... I had intended for the fic to end this way pretty much from when Peter came back to life on the show and when I was actually planning to write a sequel before Colton departed. =(

I still liked it as an ending, but this is prolly gonna be it. Altho who knows...maybe 2 seasons from now I'll decide to continue this...lol...

Thanks to everyone for hanging in there! Hope you enjoyed the story.

Please R&R =)
