Never can Tell

Most people don't have to try hard to get someone to like them. Sometimes it just happens. Like the snap of a finger or in a blink of an eye. But in most case there's always that one individual that roams the earth alone not know whether they'll met someone or die alone. It goes to show you never can tell.

Ororo Monroe waited patiently down stairs for the bride, her best friend, Jean Grey; later to be known as Jean Grey Summers. "Jean, hurry or you're going to miss your own wedding," the mocha beauty called. 'Typical Jean,' Ororo thought as she tapped her right foot compulsively. "Okay, how do I look…again," Jean asked her friend as she did a twirl at the top of the stairs in her beautiful strapless wedding dress that she knew would take her brother's breath away and leave undoubtedly speechless.

"You look beautiful," answered professor, Charles Xavier before Ororo could comment. Jean practically ran down the stairs to embrace the man who raised her like a father. "Thank you," Jean whispered in his ear after placing a kiss on his cheek.

"Are y'all ready yet?" Emma entered the hall with one hand on her small still growing stomach that carried her and Havok's baby, "The poor groom can't take anymore of Remy teasing him that you're going to be a runaway bride."

"Oh, I love that movie," Kitty Pride said as she straightened the wrinkles in her strapless blush colored dress that matched all of Jean's bridesmaids: Rogue, Emma, Kitty, and Jubilee. Ororo's dress however was much different than the other ladies. According to Jean, Ororo's dress was bashful colored not blush. Truth be told Ororo really couldn't tell the two colors apart. It all just looked pink to her. The white haired beauty was never one to complain, but she could not stand the color pink. To set the bridesmaids dresses' apart from the maid of honor's, Jean had Ororo's dress also be styled one shoulder.

"I'd have to say Pretty Woman is my favorite," Rogue said in her sweet southern accent.

"You would say that," Jubilee commented receiving an eye roll from the brunette with the single strand of white hair.

"Alright everybody single file," Ororo motioned them to begin the wedding line up. "Jubilee with Bobby, Kitty with Colossus, Emma with Beast, Rogue with Remy, me and then the star," Ororo turned to Jean waiting for Jean's nod of approval to begin. When she did Jubilee signaled for Alison to start playing the Wedding March on the piano.

Pair by pair began to disappear. Finally Ororo started to walk down the aisle. To her annoyance Remy let out a wolf whistle which caused other wedding guests to laugh. Jean to a deep cleansing breath then she glided down the aisle with the professor wheeling in his wheel chair beside her.

"Who gives this woman to this man?" the Priest asked.

The brides green eyes looked with Scott's through his visor.

"Hi," Scott mouthed to Jean.

"Hi," Jean mouthed her response.

"You're beautiful," Scott mouthed back.

This was the exact same conversation the two had with each other the day they first met each other in the summer of 2000. They were both 16 years old, while Ororo was 14. Scott was the first student that Xavier took in and then he took in Ororo. In time the two children became more than students to Xavier, the morphed into being known as his children. Three years later the professor brought a girl with strawberry red hair in a dress that matched her hair into the mansion. Jean grew extremely nervous when she saw the boy in odd looking sun glasses and the mocha skinned girl with her white hair in pigtails wearing a rainbow shirt and overalls. Ororo gazed at Charles Xavier and then at Jean. She observed her father's bald head and observed the girls red hair.

"Are you Annie?" Ororo asked with full curiosity. This brought a smile to Jean's face and made the Professor suppress a small laugh.

"Ororo," Scott lightly pushed his sister worried that she had offended their guest.

"It's fine," Jean giggled extending her hand to the girl, "Sorry to disappoint you, but I'm Jean Grey."

"Ororo Munroe," the white haired girl took the red head's hand and gave a shrug at Scott. "What? Don't you think she looks like Annie…standing next to daddy," Ororo asked Scott as she hugged the Professor.

"I apologize for my crazy sister," Scott smiled at Jean, who smiled back. Her smile had a major effect on Scott. He felt something he had never felt before, 'You're beautiful,' Scott thought to himself, but little did he know that Jean could hear his thoughts.

"By the power vested in me, I know pronounce Mr. and Mrs. Summers. You may know kiss the bride"-before the Priest could finish Jean and Scott's lips were already together sharing a sweet tender kiss that symbolized their everlasting love.

The guest broke out into applause. Ororo fought the urge to shed a tear as she watched Jean and Scott run down the aisle hand-in-hand.

"It's time to party," Jubilee squealed as she and other School for gifted youngsters dashed to the reception area. The guest cleared the dance floor as Jean and Scott shared their first dance as husband and wife to Etta James At Last. The two love birds swayed side-to-side and shared a sweet kiss when Etta sang, "And you are mine at last." Which made the girls let out a loud Aww. But their outburst wasn't able to draw the onlookers attention because on the dance floor the bride and groom broke out into freestyle dancing to Flo Rida's Good Feeling.

Jean started to shuffle while Scott tried to do the worm. "Come on everybody," Jean motioned for the students to join the dance floor. Many of the students started to dance around the bride and the groom.

Ororo giggled at the two as she drank her wine glass. "Come on Ms. Monroe," Kitty pulled Ororo's arm as an attempt to drag her to the dance floor. "No, it's fine," Ororo didn't budge from her chair.

"Please, Ms. Monroe, Mr. Summers and Ms. Grey-I mean Mrs. Summers say you're a great dancer," Jubilee argued.

"Oh come off it, love and get out here," Alison didn't take no for an answer she yanked Ororo's chair and Jubilee pulled her reluctant to dance teacher to the dance floor. Good Feeling had just ended and the Black Eyed Peas Boom Boom Pow started to play.

Ororo moved her body slow to the beginning of the song, but then started to move at a fast pace as the song progressed. Beast, known as Hank started to dance with her as the song continued. When Will. sang, "That spaceship zoomed," Hank dipped Ororo. Her long snow like hair nearly touched the ground.

Bobby was walking around the reception with a camera asking all the students and teachers to say something to the bride and groom.

"Remy, Rogue, say something to the beautiful bride and the groovy groom," Bobby said rather too cheery for Remy's liking. But he let out a laugh when Bobby said Groovy.

"The entire wedding service was amazing," Rogue said. "And you looked more beautiful than Kate Middleton"-

"She's talking about you Scott," Remy said to the camera earning a jab from his wedding date. "I'm just kidding. Both of you enjoy the honeymoon. Je suis sûr que vous serez tous deux comme mon cadeau de marriage," he said with a wink.

Bobby filmed the happy couple cutting the wedding cake and doing the tradition shoving the cake in each other's faces. Jean gladly a corner of Scott's cake frosting colored lips.

Bobby aimed the camera toward Havok, whose hand was over Emma's belly as Emma devoured a piece of wedding cake. "Say something to the Summers."

"Hope you have endless happiness in the marriage,"Havok kissed Emma's cheek.

Alison came to the table holding her own plate of cake and smiled at the camera, "Hey, Mr. Summers and Hey Mrs. Summers!" she waved, "I love your dress and I love your groom! Why if I were older," Alison said.

Emma burst out laughing at Alison statement.

"Good Lord, Alison," Bobby said.

"Wait, can you edit that out? Here let me see that camera," Alison reached for the camera, but Bobby ran off.

"Sorry, Al, it'll cost ya," he said.

Beyond them Jean and Ororo were dancing to Call me Maybe by Carly Rae Jepsen. "I can't believe Scott was considering to even suggest Forge be on the guest list," Jean said. "I mean I was like common Scott you can't be serious."

Forge and Ororo had a history. He was her first big love. He was the first boy she ever kissed and he also wanted to be her first time, but Ororo wouldn't allow it. Ororo wasn't like Jean, who gave it to Scott when they were 19. Ororo preferred to think of herself as old fashion. In many morals she truly did love Forge, but the kind of pressure he put on her outweighed the love. The night she refused to perform what he called 'for her to show him that she truly loved him' he broke up with her. Within a week he had left the institute and a broken hearted beauty.

"I mean it's both Scott and your wedding. I would not have minded," Ororo lied, but that didn't fool her sister.

"Can I cut in," Angel tapped the red head's shoulder.

Ororo smiled at the handsome golden haired man who stood a good 6'2ft tall.

Jean left the dance floor with her husband. "Alright, guys it's time for me to throw the garter. So single guys on the dance floor," Scott said.

In a blink of an eye a swarm of guys covered the dance floor. The young men hooted and whistled as Scott pulled up the hem off his bride's wedding dress. Slowly he removed the garter which caused Jean to blush almost as red her hair or in this case as her bridesmaids' dresses. Scott flung the garter at the crowd of guys only to have it land in Hank's hands. The guest clapped.

"Now do the bouquet!" Jubilee yelled.

"Gal, you're too young to be catching wedding bouquets," Rogue scolded the 14 year old.

"So are you!" Jubilee stuck her tongue out at the 16 year old.

All single women and young girls gathered for the tossing. Each murmuring 'I'm gonna get it.' Jeam laughed and turned around and tossed the flowers over her head. Women and young girls jumped trying to catch it only having it land on Ororo's lap. Ororo looked down at the flowers. 'How can this happen? I didn't even try to catch the flowers,' she thought holding up the flowers while the women and men clapped for her victory.

"Well, I guess you'll be the next one to be married," Jean told the maid of honor mentally.

"Yeah, right," the mocha skinned beauty replied and paused when Hank walked up to her, "Would you like to dance?" he asked letting out a breath of relief as she nodded 'yes'.

Standing in the center of the dance floor expecting a slow song to play, but were surprised to hear the lyrics of Chuck Berry's You Never can Tell.

Please review and give me some feedback. I'm still continuing this story.

I'm sure you will both like my wedding present: Je suis sûr que vous serez tous deux comme mon cadeau de mariage.
