NMG: So I came up with this idea while watching an episode of H2O Just Add Water. If you've seen it, then you'll know that in the episode "Fish Fever" Emma cuts herself on a piece of coral and starts acting really weird. I thought about putting that situation on Percy since he's a son of Poseidon, he's likely to end up cutting himself on some kind of weird coral or something.

Nico Muse: Did you have to be so mean to me in this story?

NMG: Yep!

Nico Muse: Why am I here anyway?

NMG: You're my muse! It doesn't matter if the story's in your fandom or not, you're probably gonna follow me anyway.

Nico Muse: That's not true!

NMG: Oh yeah? Then what about the time you followed me into the Harry Potter fandom?

Nico Muse: That was ONE TIME!

NMG: Whatever. SAY THE DISCLAIMER!

Nico Muse: You don't have to shout, I already know what to do. NinjaMonkeyGirl2012 does not own PJO or H2O or the original idea. She just owns whatever is typed in the story.

NMG: REVIEW!

Percy was having the good life. The war was over, the camp was at peace, and life was great. He decided to take a dive in the lake just for fun. The naiads weren't flirting with him, though they did say hi every now and then. The day was going great so far. He and Annabeth just finished a great date, Thalia decided to visit, even Nico was having fun and smiling for once! Yep, life was great.

"Ow! Stupid coral," he hissed. Until he cut himself on a stupid piece of coral. But hey, it's just coral, what harm can it do? He then realized that Annabeth had just gotten a new fish and picked out the coral to give to her as a present to decorate her fish tank.

Without noticing it, the naiads became worried because they knew what the coral was, but they didn't say anything.

About an hour later, he got out of the lake again just in time for dinner. Though something wasn't right. The cut hadn't healed like it should have, he was in the water, it should have healed immediately, but it was still there. He sucked on it, not caring that he was tasting the iron of blood, but nothing happened.

Percy ignored it and carried on with dinner as usual. After dinner, he walked Annabeth to her cabin.

"Hey, I have a present for you," Percy said.

"Really? What is it?" Annabeth asked. He gave her a box and when she opened it, there was the beautiful multi-colored coral. "Percy, it's beautiful! Is it for Daedalus' fish tank?"

"Yep. C'mon, I'll help you put it in."

"Thanks."

They entered the Athena cabin and Annabeth carefully placed the coral in Daedalus' fish tank.

"Thanks again for the coral, it's really very lovely. It matches Daedalus' eyes," Annabeth said.

"He has colored eyes?" Percy asked.

"Yeah, you can't see it for there, you have to get really close." But Percy wasn't listening anymore, he was looking at a can of fish food.

"Percy, are you alright?" Annabeth asked, snapping him out.

"Hm? Oh, right, sorry," Percy said.

"Are you okay? You look kind of pale."

"Yeah, I'm fine. Is this Daedalus' fish food?"

"Yeah, it's his favorite, sardine flavored. I'm really excited to be going back home for Christmas tomorrow."

"I am too, you know my mom and Paul's anniversary is during the winter holidays. It's actually two days after Christmas."

"That's cool! I'm gonna go wash my hands, I'll be right back."

All the other cabin members were already asleep and when Annabeth was gone, Percy popped off the cap of the fish food and chugged down nearly a quarter of the can and then put the cap back on. When she came back, everything looked completely normal, nothing out of the ordinary. Or so it seemed. A few minutes later, after cleaning up, Percy was heading out back to his cabin.

"Good night, Percy," the blonde said.

"'Night, Annabeth," he replied. Annabeth being the perceptive Athena girl she is, noticed the cut on his finger.

"What happened to your finger?" she asked worriedly.

"It's nothing, I just cut it while I was swimming today. No big deal, it'll heal in a couple days," Percy replied.

"Are you sure? I could run inside and grab some nectar . . ."

"No, its fine, I'll be okay."

"Positive?"

"Hundred percent." He gave her a peck on the lips, gave one final good night, and went back to his cabin for the night.

The next morning was pretty much the same as usual, but Percy felt weird. He was hungrier than usual during breakfast. But instead of going for some toast or bacon or something NORMAL, Percy reached for the fish. Why there was fish on the table, I don't know. Maybe it has something to do with being a son of Poseidon.

"Uh, Percy? Why are you eating the fish? You normally stay away from it," Grover asked.

"I do? Weird, it's pretty good. Want some?" Percy offered.

"Uh, no thanks."

"Suit yourself, it's really good." Percy kept munching on the fish until it was all gone.

"Percy, are you feeling okay?" Grover asked.

"Never better, why?" Percy replied.

"You've been acting kind of weird so far today. Is everything alright?"

"Yeah, everything's great! I'm gonna go for a swim before I leave to go home, see you later!"

Before Grover could say anything else, Percy bounded out of the door and headed for the lake.

"What's up with him?" Thalia asked.

"I have no idea, but he's been acting really weird," Grover said.

"Weirder than usual?" Thalia replied sarcastically. But instead of laughing with her, Grover glared at her. She raised her hands in defense.

"Well he's been eating fish. A lot of fish, he finished the entire table full of fish throughout breakfast. He doesn't even LIKE fish!"

"Okay, that is weird, even for Kelp Head. What do we do about it?"

"Well, I have to stay at camp, but how about you and Nico go with him for the holidays?"

"Do I have to?"

"He's your friend? Are you worried or not?"

"I'm worried! I just don't wanna spend my entire holiday with Kelp Head."

"Just keep an eye on him, please for me."

"Fine. I'll go talk to Nico."

Thalia found Nico and explained the situation to him. He too didn't want to spend the holiday with Percy, but then remembered his mom was also going to be there and brightened up a little and agreed to go with her. Little did they know that the whole thing was going to end very badly.

NMG: And that is the beginning!

Nico Muse: Of the apocalypse. Seriously, the beginning isn't that bad, but I'm a little scared for future chapters.

NMG: Don't be such a wuss.

Nico Muse: I'm not a wuss!

NMG: Then deal with it! And for my readers, review!
