Prompt: Hey there! Umm you asked for a doctor who fic prompt I think. Any chance you would do a Friendship Captain Jack Harkness and a Rory Williams fic? I dunno, maybe Rory goes to Cardiff to pick up something for Amy and they meet at a bar or something?

"Something sparkly, something sparkly" Rory Williams murmured to himself, walking around the shopping centre. It was his first wedding anniversary soon, and he'd made the Doctor drop him near some shops so he could find something for Amy. Her requests, or should that be commands, were still ringing in his ears. Staring into the window of an expensive jewellers, he allowed himself to be distracted by the reflection in the window. It had been ages since he'd had a decent coffee...

Captain Jack sat near the window, clutching his drink and drumming his fingers on the table. Surveillance had to be the worst part of this job. Especially when the others all conveniently needed to be somewhere else. He rolled his eyes, smiling, as he remembered some of their hasty excuses. "Eh, sorry, is anyone sitting here?" Jack glanced up at the man who had spoken, looking him up and down before grinning and nodding towards the empty seat. "Be my guest."

The man sat down with a sigh of relief, placing his coffee on the table and offering his hand. "Rory. Rory Williams. Thanks for, you know, the seat." Jack smiled, shaking Rory's hand. "Captain Jack Harkness. Trust me, the pleasure is all mine."

Rory gaped slightly, dropping Jack's hand and waving his own in front of him. "Um, not gay. Married in fact. Though I'm flattered-" His sentence broke off as he thought, and Jack grinned even wider at the expression on his face. "I'm sorry", asked Rory, "Did you say Captain Jack Harkness? As in, travelled in the TARDIS with the Doctor and flirts with everyone and wears a ridiculous coat? That Jack Harkness?"

Jack looked at the man in front of him with more interest. "How do you know all of that? Don't tell me you travelled with him too?"

"Uhm, yeah. Still travelling, actually. Well not right now, obviously, but yeah. Me and my wife, Amy. And occasionally River. It's a long story. But he tells us stories about other people who have travelled with him, and yours are funnier than most." Rory took a sip of his coffee, preparing for a long conversation.

Jack grinned mischievously. "I bet they are. Did he tell you the one about the bar on-Hang on, did he really say my coat is ridiculous? His is nearly exactly the same!"

Rory frowned, clearly confused. "He, that is, the Doctor, he's never worn a long coat. A bowtie and occasionally a fez, but never a long coat."

Jack thought for a few moments before nodding again. "He must have regenerated. Or just had a wardrobe revamp, I suppose. About time too, he always wore the same suit." Jack smiled, absorbed in memories, when Rory coughs.

"Um, I think he has regenewhatsit since you last saw him. I remember him saying that, anyway. Why don't you come and see him? I'm sure he'd like to catch up with an old friend. He was just round the corner when I left, promised to be back at..." Rory glances at the clock on the wall. "Well, about twenty minutes ago. Which means he'll be here in five." He looked back at the Captain. "Fancy it?"

Jack jumped up, pulling his coat on. "You wouldn't believe the amount of time it took to find him last time. I am not gonna let this opportunity go." He drained his coffee and followed Rory out of the coffee shop, sending a quick message to Gwen.

'Might not be home for a while. The Doctor's back. Look after Torchwood while I'm gone.'
