Notes: This is from Toki's prompt: "playboy". As it was Kise Ryouta's birthday on the 18th, this drabble is tying the two themes together.

He really dislikes it when people assume he's some aloof guy who likes to play with women's hearts because he's "born with good looks" and all. For one, it's not like he asked to be born the way he is, though he's not complaining because it gives him an edge in his favourite sport, basketball, as well as a leg up in his part-time job as a model. All the negativity is uncalled for, and at times he wants to find a steady partner to shut everyone up.

"Kise-kun."

Kuroko's here, precisely at the time they have previously arranged. He breaks into a wide smile, at the line between friendly and competitive. "I thought you wouldn't come."

"Why would you say that?"

"Who knows, maybe your team's kept you back or something."

"Practice ended and I left before they even noticed. Here, Kise-kun, happy birthday."

His smile grows, tipping towards grateful. It's just a vanilla ice cream cone, but the thought and gesture is more than enough. "Kurokocchi~!"

"Not with the ice cream please, Kise-kun."

Ryouta stops in mid-hug and nods, licking at it, relishing its sweetness. It's times like these that he can temporarily forget about what the public expects of him, because Kuroko doesn't care. Kise-kun is Kise-kun, he once told him, and that's all he needs. Besides, if there is one person he really wants, it's Kuroko anyway.
