The Secret Marriage

Chapter 13

(In Virgil's point a view)

Now that I knew what Scott had decided to do, I knew that he would want me to tell the others what had happened. So, I got Alan to fly up to get John, I felt that we all should be here for Scott when he got back. While I was waiting on Alan returning with John. I made sure that Jo was resting because her blood pressure started rise so, I got her to lay on the sofa and Robyn had started doing a drawing beside me. Just then Gordon walked into the lounge he could somehow tell that something was wrong.

"Virgil is everything okay? Why are you calling a meeting?"

"Because this is something you all need to know before Scott gets back, he has given me permission to tell you all this and I want to wait till Alan comes down with John."

"It must be bad if Johnny has to come down."

"Gordon what did Dad tell you about Scott?"

"Something about Scott getting himself married and his wife dying of cancer, there is more to this isn't there."

"More then you know Gordon, let's just say this has hit Scott really hard and he needs our support with this."

"Okay how is Jo doing after this morning?" Asked Gordon who looked over at my wife sleeping on the sofa.

"Doing okay now Gords, we are keeping a good eye on things here but at least she is resting now. She had a server headache and vision problems. I got Tin-Tin to give her something and she got told to rest. I know that Jo should be in the sickbay but she didn't want to go there and felt comfortable here. She wants to be here for Scott getting back."

"Bro you will need to wake Jo up soon, she is on the sofa and TB3 is due back"

"Daddy can I wake Mummy up please?"

"You know that you can sweetie" I said to Robyn who made her way over to Jo and tapped her on the knee to wake her up.

"Mummy you have to wake up now, Uncle John is coming with Uncle Alan" as soon as Jo heard Robyn, she tried to get up till Gordon offered his hand to help sit up. I could tell that my prankster brother wanted to laugh but he wouldn't do it because he knows that Jo will hunt him down for it late.

"Sorry if I fell asleep there but like you said I needed the rest." Said Jo while Robyn cuddled into Jo

"I am just glad that you could get some rest Jo, anyway Dad is on his way back with Scott and we are waiting on Alan returning with John. At that moment Grandma came walking in and I had a job for her, I didn't want Robyn to hear any of this so I had a chat with Grandma earlier who was happy to take Robyn for a while. I did promise her that I would fill her in after I had chatted to the guys about this. As Grandma came to get Robyn Alan and John both appeared while Jo had got up to stand beside me. I had managed to get her a chair so that she could sit beside me while I was sitting at Dads desk.

"So, Virgil what is going on with Scott?"

"Well as you all know last year Scott decided that he wanted a life outside IR, He got himself married to a lovely girl who went to school with him. They didn't see each other for a few years till Scott had met Rebecca over at Dads office. They fell in love; they had been going out for about 8 months. So, he got married, a few months later Scott's wife gave birth to a little girl. Rebecca died of cancer not long after giving birth. They both had a little girl but..."

"But what Virg?" asked John

"Scott feels as if he can't bring LeAnne up on his own so he will be handing her over to her Grandparents in the meantime. Don't worry Scott did tell them that he would pay them something once a month so he knows that he is doing something. Dad is bringing him back later so that we could give Scott some support with this. That is why I called you down from five John, to be honest with you all I don't know how Scott and Dad do it. I have only been in their place for a few days and I will be so glad to hand this desk back over. After I had said that to my brothers Dad and Scott walk into the lounge and Robyn comes back in with Grandma who runs into Scott's arms for a cuddle.

"You sure know how to cheer me up princess thank you for that cuddle, I take it you have told everyone Virgil?"

"He has and we are sorry bro, why didn't you tell any of us about this?" said Gordon

"I don't know I was just scared about your reactions to it if you all knew." Said Scott who walked over to the balcony overlooking the pool, once I had seen that Scott was heading there, I had given Dad his desk back and followed him over.

"Hey Scott, I am not going to ask how you are doing? I just want to check that you are okay with everything. I did explain it all to the guys. They all wanted to be here for you coming home."

"Virgil can you please just leave me alone for a while, I promise that I will chat to you and Jo later but I think that I did the right thing in the end. If In the future I do want LeAnne back then it will come in its own but for now I just want to get back to work."

"You know where I am if you need to chat, in fact we are all here for you." I said as I left Scott there to think about things. Now that Scott was back, I needed to get Jo into our bedroom to rest. But I know one thing that our family will be there for Scott no matter what comes his way, it's not a nice ending for my oldest brother but I am hopeful that he will find someone else to love in the future.
