Welp. That took a long time.

I'm gonna be completely honest here, I did not realize how long it has been since I wrote the last chapter for this until one of my friends asked me how this fic was coming a couple of weeks ago. Then I was like, "oooooOOOH. I HAVEN'T UPDATED SINCE MARCH."

So. Here it is! And I guess as an apology this chapter is really long? It was originally two chapters, but they were way too short to be separate so I combined them into one. Besides, I think it flows a bit better like this.

I'll explain everything at the bottom so I don't delay this chapter even longer for you all... so here it is!

Friends with Benefits

Chapter Eleven : Liars

[3rd Person]

Ghirahim had enough of it. Those two seriously don't understand how to be quiet! Most nights they aren't that bad, even if he could still hear everything they're doing. However, recently it's been getting much worse. This was the last straw.

Are they screaming? The white-haired man wondered as he got up out of bed and removed his ear plugs. He found his red robe and left his apartment in a hurry. He was extremely tired and just wanted to get back to sleep.

His eyes drooped and he stumbled down the hallway to their door. He knocked and waited, but there was no answer. He knocked again, much louder, but there was still no response. Now filled with anger, he slammed his fist against the door until he heard a television turned off and footsteps coming towards him.

Finally, the door was opened to find Link in a pair of pajama pants and a t-shirt on the other side with a scowl on his face.

"What do you want this time, Ghirahim?" Link mumbled, an angry tone evident in his voice. Zelda, who had still been on the couch, turned to see what was going on, and upon seeing their neighbor, sighed.

"How many times do I have to tell you two to be quiet?" Ghirahim asked, his eyes narrowing.

"Apparently any night we make a noise louder than a whisper." Link crossed his arms. At this point, he had gotten used to his intrusive neighbor coming over to ask them to be quiet, but that doesn't mean he isn't still annoying.

Ghirahim rolled his eyes, not having the energy to argue about that. He noticed that they were watching some horror movie on the television, and he scowled at that.

"What compelled you two to watch a horror movie at 1 in the morning?" He put his hands on his hips to emphasize his point. "On a Tuesday?"

"Whatever." Link turned, shooting an annoyed look at Zelda. "We'll try to be more quiet." He turned back to face Ghirahim, who now had a sinister look on his face.

"You better." He began walking down the hallway, "Or else you'll regret angering me."

"Alright." Link called before slamming the door.

"What does he mean by that?" Zelda asked, moving over as Link sat down again.

"Nothing." He shrugged and grabbed the remote again. "He makes threats like that all the time, but he never goes through with them."

"Then why bother?" She groaned as she curled up on Link's side. He really is warm... She thought with a tint of pink growing on her cheeks. "You'd think if he was really bothered by it he would have reported it by now."

Link sighed and turned at her comment, obviously done with trying to reason with his peculiar neighbor. Dealing with the unreasonable Ghirahim for so long made him this way. "That's what I've been telling myself."

A couple of days later, Sheik had come over to visit Link for a while. The two hadn't seen each other in a long time due to Link's work and Sheik planning the wedding. So, it was a good time for the two to catch up.

"I should get going. Malon asked me to come home for dinner." Sheik sighed as he stood up from the couch and stretched his limbs.

"It was great having you over!" Link said with a chuckle. "Zelda should be home soon, so you might see her on your way down."

"Alright, I'll be sure to say hi to her." He grabbed his things and headed to the door, opening it and leaning on the frame. "See you."

"Bye!" Link said with a small wave.

Sheik slowly closed the door and walked down the hallway to the elevator, waving at Zelda who happened to be coming home then.

After talking for a minute or two, the siblings said their goodbyes and carried on. Zelda opened the front door and Link turned to greet her. She dropped her bags on the ground with a loud sigh and collapsed on the couch.

"What's wrong, Zel?" Link asked, moving closer to her. He put his arm around her shoulders and she leaned into him with her eyes closed.

"Just another horrible day at work." She mumbled.

"Do you want to talk about it?" He began to rub her arm to try and comfort her. He knew being an assistant teacher could be stressful by itself, but being in a high school with annoying teenagers must make it much worse.

"A bunch of the boys in the Academy apparently really like me." She started with a grimace on her face. "And I mean really like me."

"Why wouldn't they?" Link said with a smile, hoping to cheer her up. "You're funny, smart, and unbelievably sexy."

She gave him a small smile, so he knew that worked. But, she still gave him a look as if to say that she didn't want him interrupting her. "Thanks. But they must think so too because all the hotshots were hitting on me." She rolled her eyes as she remembered it. With an uncomfortable laugh, she said, " I'm sorry but I'm not at all interested in 15 year old boys, thank you very much."

"I can see why you're so stressed out about it." Link said. "Here, sit like this." He turned her so she was sitting up and facing away from him.

"What are you - " She began, but she was cut off by him rubbing her back. "Oh my goddesses..."

"Is that okay?" He asked.

"Yes, very much so..." She sighed and wondered how his calloused fingers could do this so well. "Your hands are amazing, Link."

"I know, you tell me that all the time." He said with a smirk, making her turn and grimace at him, with a bright blush on her cheeks.

He continued to massage her for a couple of minutes. He eventually removed her blouse so that he could rub her back better.

"You do seem really tense." Link commented, feeling bad for her troubles. Being a musician that's prepared most of the time (as well as being close friends with his boss, Midna), he rarely undergoes such stress. Maybe he gets worried over an upcoming concert or how well a recording sounds, but those are just occasional. However, dealing with sexually harassing teenagers in a high school is more of an everyday problem that has no true fix. "You know, I could come in one day and show those kids that they shouldn't mess with you." He offered with a laugh.

"Thanks for the offer but I'm pretty sure beating them up would get me fired." She stated. But, imagining Link coming in and teaching those boys a lesson sure made the offer tempting, and the picture it gave her made her feel better.

"If that isn't an option, I could just stand in the corner and glare at them and tell them to back off if necessary."

"I wish it was that simple, Link."

Hearing that some teenage brats were flirting with Zelda infuriated him, no matter how petty it seemed. Sure, her getting annoyed by it was angering enough, but Link felt much more irritated than he would have expected. After all, she was clearly not accepting their attention and they had pretty much no chance in ever being with her. The thought of a bunch of boys flirting with Zelda all day was what truly made him angry, not just her annoyance of it. The realization of this was what was making him irritated scared him more than anything else.

After a few more minutes, Zelda tapped Link's leg. He stopped moving his hands as she turned to face him. He raised one of his eyebrows at her, confused about what she was doing now.

"Are you good now?" He asked, confusion laced in his voice.

"Of course." She giggled, now completely facing him and beaming.

"That's great." He nudged her as a smile grew on his face. "If you ever need me, I'll always be here."

"I know, I know, you've said that tons of times before." She said with a laugh and gently rested her hand on his arm.

"I just wanted to make sure you always remember!" He glanced down at her hand and felt strangely comforted by it, even though he would never admit to that. He suddenly realized she hadn't put her shirt back on. With a blush, he picked up the fabric that he had thrown on the ground and brought it to her. "Here's your shirt." He looked away as he thought about how he took it off of her earlier with even thinking about it.

Zelda looked at her piece of clothing in his hand and remembered how he had removed it earlier, leaving her only in a bra. But, instead of taking the blouse from him, she hit his hand, causing the fabric to fall back to the ground.

He gave her another one of those questioning looks that seemed to be frequent in their relationship until she climbed on top of him. She wrapped her arms around his neck with a smirk, taking amusement in how his expression changed from confused, to flushed, to totally turned on.

Zelda kissed him passionately, now her situation at work was not even a thought in her mind. He caught on to what she was implying and rested one hand on her bare back as the other threaded through her long, blonde hair. He pushed her body closer to his so he could feel her heat.

She unlaced her arms from around his neck and they began trailing down his back, eventually reaching his chest. She began unbuttoning his shirt, now able to do it blindly. Her legs moved so she was straddling his waist, giving her enough space to work on his shirt.

Link's hand that had been resting on her back slid down to her bottom, already knowing well how sensitive she was there. He began to bring his hand down to go underneath her skirt, but she quickly grabbed him and pushed his hand away. He pulled back from their kiss to look at her smiling face.

"What was that for?" He asked breathlessly.

"You already did so much for me." She answered with a low chuckle that made her even sexier. "Now it's my turn."

Link's eyes widened at her words, but he wasn't about to protest against her offer. He placed his hand back on her back, this time to stay there. She lowered herself to kiss him again, but soon moved to kiss and suck on his neck, enjoying the gasped breaths and moans that were escaping him as she did so.

Zelda slid his first shirt off of him, sighing when she saw he was wearing a gray undershirt, meaning she would have to move to get it off of him. But, she figured it didn't really matter if he wore a shirt anyway. Her hands moved down to his pants, unbuttoning and unzipping them.

"Link. "

The distinctively masculine voice startled them both, wondering where it came from. Zelda moved away from Link, about to ask, but she noticed his eyes were widened and looking towards the door. She turned her head and saw the one person she would have never wanted to be there.

Her brother, Sheik.

"Link!" The man in the open doorway raced towards them, pulling Link out from underneath Zelda in a fit of rage. "For the love of Hylia, what are you doing to my little sister?!"

"Sheik!" They both exclaimed in unison, almost in shock to see the man standing there.

He grabbed Link by his undershirt and began shaking him around as he yelled at him. "What the fuck were you thinking?! This is Zelda, my sister!"

Link was totally speechless as he thought of what exactly Sheik had seen when he walked in, and how he could lie his way out of it. But, Zelda being on top of him without a shirt, kissing his neck, and taking off his pants is kind of hard to explain. He sure wasn't going to tell her protective older brother the truth.

Once Zelda came back into her thoughts, she grabbed Link's shirt from the floor and threw it on. The situation was mortifying enough and she didn't want to be around her brother any longer without a shirt on. She rushed to the door to close it, not wanting to have a scene in front of their neighbors.

She watched as Sheik screamed his lungs out at Link who seemed at a loss of what to do. She knew she had to figure out something.

"And you're my best friend! I'd expect shit like this from Dark but not you!" Sheik's red eyes were angrier than she'd ever seen, which scared her even more. Was there any way they could get out of this? "How would you feel if you had a sister and I messed around with her?!"

Zelda cleared her throat, deciding just to wing it and hope Link plays along. "Sheik!" She yelled over his loud rambling. She managed to get his hands off of Link long enough for her to step between them and create a barrier. Link zipped up his pants and held Zelda's arm, giving her a desperate look.

"What are you two doing?! Are you fucking stupid?!" Sheik yelled again, still blinded by his anger towards what he walked in on. "When that guy told me that you two were having sex all the time I didn't want to believe him. I came back because I had forgotten my jacket and I did not expect to you two half naked on the couch together!"

"Well in our defense you should have knocked..." Zelda mumbled. She hated fighting with her brother when he was being unreasonably angry.

"I did! Multiple times!" His hands were flailing about making gestures that emphasized his anger. "When I realized you weren't going to answer I got my key out and that's when I saw you two!" He stepped forward with a stomp, glaring daggers at Link. "Just thinking about my sister having sex is revolting enough, but with someone who I thought was my best friend?!"

Sheik's hands lurched forward to try and grab Link again, but Zelda caught his fists before he could.

"Sheik, stop! We can explain!" Zelda yelled at him.

He retracted his hands and crossed his arms in annoyance, narrowing his eyes at them. "It better be a good explanation."

"We're... um..." Zelda turned her head slightly to look at Link, who seemed incredibly nervous. He has always been a courageous person, if not the most courageous she's ever met. But dealing with a protective older brother of the girl you're sleeping with who is also your best friend and known to have tools that could easily kill a man? That's a whole different story. "Because I love him, Sheik!"

Sheik's eyes widened in surprise and he stepped backwards, not expecting her to say that. He didn't notice that Link was also surprised at Zelda's words to a lesser extent. Does she...?

"Are you serious?" Sheik asked, seeming as if all of his rage was gone.

"Y-yes... I, uh... love her too." Link blushed brightly as he said that, still hiding behind Zelda who seemed to be taking charge of the situation.

"We've been dating in secret for a long time now, Sheik." Zelda began to explain, moving so that Link was at her side as opposed to being behind her. She wrapped her arm around him and leaned into his side. "We didn't want to tell anyone because we were worried about what everyone would think."

Sheik stared at the two in silence, his eyes narrowing as he thought about her words. The other two got nervous when he didn't speak for a few moments, but he suddenly had a huge smile on his face.

"That's so wonderful!" He exclaimed, hugging them both tightly. "I couldn't be happier for you two!"

"Thanks, Sheik." Link gasped. For being somewhat smaller than Link, this man sure was strong to be able to envelope both of them in a tight hug.

"While the idea of Zelda having sex repulses me, I'm so glad it's with someone I can trust!" He pulled back and continued to grin at them.

Even though before you said it was worse because Link is your best friend... Zelda thought to herself with a weary smile on her face.

"I can't imagine a better match for you two besides for each other." Sheik said, now much calmer as he seemed to accept the idea. "We've all known each other for so long, it's almost as if it was meant to happen!"

"Heh, yeah..." Link mumbled with a blush on his face.

"So how long has this been going on? You two, I mean." Sheik asked with excitement.

"Uh... five months or so?" Zelda decided to say their relationship started when they first started sleeping together.

"Wow! You two kept it hidden for a long time, huh?" He commented. He expected it to be a while, but not that long.

"Yeah... it's been hard..." Link scratched his head and looked away.

"This is so great!" Sheik was still beaming with joy. He had never imagined his best friend and his sister being in a serious relationship with each other, but now that they are he loved it. "I can't wait to tell the others - "

"No!" The other two exclaimed, not wanting their 'relationship' to be revealed.

He was startled by them both yelling him at once, telling him not to tell Malon, Midna, and Dark about Link and Zelda being in a relationship. Now that they see he is happy for them, wouldn't they want everyone to know?

"Why not?"

"We really don't feel ready to tell everyone just yet. We think our relationship has been going so well because no one knows about it." Zelda said, bringing Link closer to emphasize the point that they both agreed with this. "You found out on your own, but we'd rather tell everyone else when we feel it's time to."

"Yeah, what she said." Link nodded, rubbing Zelda's arm.

"I guess, it won't be a problem..." Sheik sighed before he continued, "It'll be pretty hard to keep it a secret from Malon, though."

"Then it's good you were the one who found out about us and not anyone else!" Zelda smiled at him, almost looking like she was forcing it. She of course would have liked if no one found out, but it was a bit too late for that.

"Why is it?" He raised an eyebrow at her unexpected response.

"Because you're the best at keeping secrets, right?" She decided to try and compliment him to get him to help them out with this.

"Plus you're the most trustworthy." Link added, catching on to what Zelda was trying to do.

"I am, aren't I?" Sheik chuckled, pleased with their compliments. "Alright, I won't tell anyone, no matter what!"

"Thank you."

"Anyways, I really should get going. Malon was expecting me home..." He looked at a nearby clock and grimaced. "Ten minutes ago, so I need to get there as soon as possible."

"Yeah, that's probably a good idea!" Zelda laughed, knowing how her friend could be.

"I know Zellie gets really angry whenever I'm not home when she asks me to." Link chuckled as he nudged her, who in return gave him an annoyed look at the pet name he came up with.

"She might not make dinner for you if you get her too angry." Zelda said was a flat tone, mostly talking to Link as a warning.

"Heh, I'm sure she's not that mad." Link laughed uncomfortably at her mad stare.

"You two really are good together!" Sheik grinned wide as he watched them bicker. "See you two later!"

"Wait!" Zelda pulled away from Link and called out to him suddenly, and he turned around to look at her. "Who was the guy who told you about us?"

Sheik crossed his arms and shrugged. "I didn't get his name, but he was really strange. Gray skin with white hair and an odd fashion sense..."

Link and Zelda turned to each other and grimaced. They both knew exactly who he was talking about.

"Ghirahim."

Apparently he did get his revenge on them after all.

Sheik left with a wave and a big smile, this time taking his forgotten jacket. As soon as he was out the door, Zelda let out a big sigh with a small smile.

"We sure fooled him, didn't we?" She said to Link, who watched her carefully. "I think he really believed we were in love and in a relationship!"

"Y-yeah, of course..." Link sighed to himself with a bit of blush on his cheeks. "We're good liars, huh?"

"The best!" Zelda laughed and punched Link's arm lightly. "I hope he doesn't tell anyone."

"I'm sure he won't." Link said, looking over Zelda. "You look great in my shirt, by the way."

Zelda looked down and realized she was still wearing his green button down shirt she put on when Sheik got there. She blushed at his comment, but gave him a smile. "Do I?" She stepped closer to him and wrapped her arms around his neck again. "Now, should we continue you where we left off?"

He smirked down at her and kissed her. "Of course."

Did you like it? Was it worth the wait? Probably not but I can hope.

I actually started this chapter quite a while ago (more than a month) but I couldn't figure something out. As I said before, I originally planned for this to be two chapters, with the first ending at the point where it says Sheik came in, but I couldn't think of a way I could make both of them long enough to be separate chapters. So I eventually decided to combine it into one really long chapter! Yay!

As far as the huge delay goes, after I posted the last one I started really focusing on my AP World History exam until the exam on May 16th (by the way I got a 4 our of 5 on it so it all paid off!). May 16th was also my birthday, so I had a lot of stuff with that, considering I had plans with friends and my close family and then the rest of my family. Then I started focusing on final exams in June and such. And then Animal Crossing: New Leaf came out and that consumed my life for a long time, and it still is (I'm close to 100 hours on it... whoops). Then July came around and that's when I started working on this and the problem I talked about before happened. Plus, Tumblr is just very distracting.

Anyways, I really hope you all can forgive me for my slow updates. I am really, really, REALLY gonna try not to do that again. The next chapter I planned to be the wedding, so that's exciting! Nice thing to look forward to, I guess.

Now if you all want to yell at me if I don't update, message me at my Tumblr blog. The url is legend-of-a-nerd. It's 90% LoZ stuff, so that's good because I assume you all like that considering this is a fanfiction for those games. The rest is usually just Pokemon, so...

I still haven't figured out the ending completely, so if you have any ideas you haven't yet said, feel free to! Also, because I am curious about this right now, are there any characters you're hoping to be in the next Smash Bros. game? Personally, I am hoping for Ghirahim, Impa, Toon Zelda/Tetra, maybe Midna and a few others from Legend of Zelda; Palutena, Magnus, and maybe Dark Pit from Kid Icarus: Uprising; Bayonetta, and a few others. So, is there anyone you're hoping for?

So, I guess that's all for today. Leave a review if you want to yell at me and favorite/follow if you'd like to!
