(Disclaimer: It's pretty obvious why most of us write fan fiction… Final Fantasy is owned by Square Enix and the mystery game is owned by… a mystery company, but the protagonist and plot are owned by Plata-Azul Firebird.)

From the Stars Above

A Trace of Nightmare

Silver: Basically an old story reboot, disassembled and then put some other parts in it. AU with a slight cross.

Summary: When one exists, an opposite also exists to counter. When the past awakens, it brought back the horror and despair. A young girl, who travels the world with her companion, must prepare for the fight. Since she is the only one who knows the evil of the past…

A Trace of Nightmare

Walking briskly to his work, his mind is in full of glee…

The military has found another specimen excavated from the North, and they think it is related to his prized specimen.

However, that is not the only thing that made the madman quite happy…

The specimen… is alive.

Arriving at the storage area where most specimens are kept and his assistants are working, he sees the very creature that spikes his interest.

The creature is very intriguing as his assistants are writing down its physical appearance on the clipboard… No skin, muscles expose but seems to be quite developed, sightless with its brain expose, bone-like talons, sharp fangs and…

Suddenly, they scream and the man merely gives a glance to his assistants… only to turn his full attention on the extremely long appendage which pierced the glass and one of his assistants on his abdomen. It then attempts to bring the man into its prison, only it could not get its meal in because of the remaining glass. The guards try to shoot the appendage to cut it, but it is not effective and ends up shooting the man dead. One of the guards does notice where the long appendage came from and it made him quite queasy… it's the creature's tongue. The creature tries again, only more forcefully and a powerful pull. But it only smashes its meal on the glass, making a few cracks on the surface, smearing it red and getting only little tidbits of its meal. The other workers screams as their fellow assistant's splattered body slides off the glass and falls to the metal floor.

However, instead of being scared, the head of the science department is even more excited to experiment on this vicious specimen…

Silver: Okay… here's a clue on what's going on… Earth is Gaia's past… How the heck that happened? If the creature that killed the poor assistant does not tip you off, then you're obviously missing. This little plot bunny has been dancing for a long time in my mind and now I got the chance to fix some of it and post it up. Please review what you think and can you guess the mystery game that I'm planning to cross with FF7?
