Don't own Naruto...

I had finished this story years ago and stated it would be a one-shot, it really was just to get my muse going again for other stories I had, but I've gotten a lot of comments about continuing it. I've had a little time and did a little sequel to the first chapter, note this is just to wrap up a few things from that chapter, I will not be adding anything else to this story after this chapter.

Also you will notice this doesn't follow what actually happened in the manga, I wrote the original story back in 2012 before the war barely started so it ended differently, now since the end of the manga I did add some stuff that would follow a little better, so don't get mad at me when you see things that aren't actually the same.

Also again... this chapter is RAW and I will get around to fixing it at some point... but I'm not going back right now and rereading over 25,000 words.

One last note, this story is set in 7 months after the first chapter. Sakura told Sasuke about the pregnancy in July and this story is set in February of the next year.

So after nearly 4 years here is the epilogue to Bet Wrong.

Winters in Konoha could be more brutal than the summers more so in the fact that they were more unpredictable rather than annoying. In the summer you have one type of weather, hot or hotter, there aren't many days you need to wear more than a short sleeve shirt, and in the beginning of the season and towards the end are really the only times there is rain so as a native of the village you pretty much know what you're in for from May till September.

But winters, winter are a whole different mission to figure out. Some years winter would start early, dropping feet of snow before November even ended, others would be more sutle and snow sporadically throughout the season; and then there were those that started late or never came at all. It was always a hassle for those in the village particularly those that had to be outside in the bitter winds but didn't want to be and the only ones that even seemed happy were the children that didn't have to go to class; but today appeared to be a day where no one was happy about the weather.

February was normally a chilly month anyway so it was no surprise that it snowed often, and judging by the soft powder under his sandals Sasuke could tell the night before the skies had opened up and dropped the fluffy white stuff on the town. Walking the main path of the village he observed as the shop and stall owners began the titus morning ritual of shoveling the pathways clear of snow or else risk a day of business being lost; the Uchiha could clearly see the annoyance on their faces and judging by the already large snow piles lined up along the street this wasn't the first time this week they've done this. It was still very early in the morning, the sun had only risen maybe a half hour prior, but a small smile came to the man's face when he spotted the one shop he was looking for was already opened and its front walkway cleared of snow.

"Good morning... oh! Uchiha-san welcome back... haven't seen you in the past few weeks," a kind elderly lady came out of the back of the shop when the soft jingle of the wind chime at the front door alerted her to a customer.

"Aa, the Hokage sent me up north to see how things were going at the border, with all the snow they've gotten they feared some of the structures may collapse under the weight," Sasuke waived to the woman in greeting but his eyes never left the glass display case filled with decorative sweet treats.

"Ah yes it has been snowing a lot more this month than all of the season combine. I must thank you again for having those kind genin sweaping the front of the shop for me... with my husband's arthritis it's become very difficult for him over the years," the woman followed the much taller man down the display case and patiently waited for him to make a selection; ever since he began to visit her pastry shop a few months ago she learned that this man was a very hard thinker and didn't like to make a lot of conversation while making a decision on what he would purchase.

"Hn, you and I would both know what would happen if she stopped by one day and you be closed because of snow," Sasuke did look up from the case at that comment to give the older woman a playful smirk which caused her in return to laugh, "And besides it's not like the genin have much else to do right now."

"Yes that is true but we are all grateful for these times of peace... um Uchiha-san may I make a suggestion?" the shop owner could clearly see he was struggling with making a decision and seeing as how this was a very important choice the item needed to be correct.

Sasuke was never one to admit defeat but this particular battle he would lose to every time as this didn't fall into his vast knowledge of skills; normally he was the one paying for these sugary sweet concoctions not picking them out.

When the Uchiha released a small sigh and stood to his full height, which easily dwarfed the woman by a good foot and a half, the shop owner knew he would take any suggestion she was willing to give. With a cheery smile she pulled a small decorative bowl from the middle shelf of the display case and placed it on top for him to inspect, "This is a frosted tart, it's simply just a tart pastry filled with a raspberry jam filling topped with fresh fruit and to balance the jam I put a very light coating of chocolate glaze on top."

Sasuke was slightly hesitant with this one, the woman hadn't stirred him wrong in the past but he wasn't sure Sakura would enjoy this bitter jam filling. Seeing the uncertainty on his face the woman giggled again, "Trust me on this one Uchiha-san, she'll love it... especially since this is what she's been getting the last few times she's come in."

"I'll take all of them."

While the woman set about packing up his purchase Sasuke took the time to admire the cozy little shop; never if he had been walking this street alone would he have noticed this place. 'Hn, I'm not ever alone anymore now am I.'

It was back in September he had just returned from a mission to Suna to deliver some documents to Gaara, when Sakura practically tackled him at the village gate, causing quite the scene for the few shinobi milling about; she then proceed to drag him through town all the way up to this tiny pastry shop.

"Is there a reason you nearly ripped my arm out of the socket?" Sasuke frowned slightly at the twinge of pain he felt while rotating the joint in his left shoulder; his whole mission for the last few days not one scratch did he get but two seconds in the village with his super strong girlfriend and he may need medical attention.

Sakura either didn't hear his compliant or was just deciding to ignore it as she pressed her face to the glass window in front of her. Intrigued by what had captivated the woman's attention other than himself, usually when he was gone for more than a few days she would jump his bones the second he walked through the door of their apartment, Sasuke looked over Sakura's head to read the sign on the glass window; it shouldn't surprise him at what he saw but for some reason a nervous twitch began in his left eye at the mere horrors he would have to endure in a matter of minutes.

"A pastry shop?" Sasuke had meant for his question to be innocent but he knew the second she turned to him with a glare on her face he had used the wrong tone to his voice; the last few weeks her mood swings had gone rapid and he knew he needed to tread lightly right now.

Sakura's eyes narrowed to little slits, and Sasuke could swear he heard a faint growl leave her clenched lips, "It's not just a pastry shop Sasuke, it's the best smelling pastry shop in the whole village."

"Smelling... you haven't tried anything from here yet?" Sasuke couldn't stop the question from slipping out of his mouth fast enough for his brain to process what he just said. He couldn't help it really, it was a shot gun reaction to a statement that shocked him; in the past two and half years they had been together Sasuke knew that whenever Sakura saw some type of sweet treat that she wanted she would just get it on the spot... so to hear her hint that she hadn't tasted anything from this shop really surprised him.

Sasuke immediately watched for her reaction to his question as this could go one of two ways, she would either calmly say why she hadn't visited the store before or she would scream out the reason like it was the most common in the world and he should know that already. Or there was a third option that he forgot about which judging by how wide her eyes became and the clear signs of tears beginning to appear Sasuke knew she was going to cry out the reason... and he really hated those reactions.

Sakura turned back to face the window fully and she began to trace the design in the frosted glass, "I-Ino wouldn't let me go in."

"What... Sakura I didn't catch that," Sasuke was practically standing over top of her but he still couldn't hear her soft mumbling.

Sakura turned again with her head bowed, "Ino w-wouldn't let me go inside. She said sweets weren't good for the baby," at the mention of her precious bundle Sakura's hands slid down to her stomach, she wasn't showing all that much but the few times she had been running around the apartment in just her underwear Sasuke could make out the small bump.

At the mention of the blond young woman Sasuke frowned again, "Why is Ino telling you what you can or cannot eat? I'm not a med-nin like you but I'm sure a few sweets won't hurt the baby."

After Sasuke's reasoning filtered through her emotionally frazzled brain Sakura's tears immediately stopped and a big smile came back to her face, "You're right Sasuke, having a few won't hurt!" In higher spirits Sakura grabbed her boyfriend's hand and dragged him inside the sweetly smelling shop. That was the first of many visits to this shop, it would seem Sakura wanted to make a trip every week to two weeks; she always found something that would make her mouth water and Sasuke would never deny her request to go. Ino did throw a fit when she came over one time and spotted the colorful wrapping on the kitchen counter, but luckily was one of Sakura's more angry days so she let the blond have a piece of her mind; and as long as she was taking her anger out on anyone but him Sasuke was okay with that.

"Here you are Uchiha-san, all ready to go!" Sasuke was pulled from his memories when the warm voice of the shop owner called out to him.

"Aa, thank you," Sasuke placed a large amount of money on the counter and took the light pink bag out of the woman's hand; with how many times he had been in the store he never bothered to ask for prices as he would give more than enough plus a generous tip and with how often the woman had told him he paid too much and he waived it off the woman now simply thanked him for coming in a wished him luck with the baby.

Sasuke would always reply with a thank you as he headed out the door only this time instead of leaving right away like normal he stopped before exiting as something caught his eye that he hadn't noticed on the way in. Just to the right of the door, on a table separated from the long display case, sat a small white plate with cookies that were shaped like little strollers; they didn't have much in decoration to them other then large pink bows made of frosting which is what caught his attention in the first place.

"Do you like them Uchiha-san? I've been having a lot of customers lately that are expecting, apparently word is traveling fast around the village about my pastries. I thought a good theme for the coming spring would be short bread cookies in the shapes of things babies would need."

"Aa... but why are there only pink bows?"

"Oh well I would seem I ran out of blue dye a few weeks ago," the woman let out a nervous giggle as she seemed to be remembering something. Sasuke thought it odd but didn't comment, he was already late as it was and would no doubt suffer greatly for it hence the reason he was in the pastry shop in the first place.

Walking briskly down the road Sasuke looked at the rising sun to judge the time, it would appear he was in the shop for a little under an hour which was a little longer than he had planned, he still needed to turn in his mission report before he could go home so he quickened his pace even farther while dodging civilians that were slowly starting to crowd the street, to make it to the Hokage's tower.

"What are you doing here?"

"What does it look like, I'm turning in my mission report which you sent me on old man," Sasuke chucked the scroll that had his notes for the last few days on the pile already on the desk, all while the Hokage never put down the book he was reading. "Hasn't Shizune already told you to stop reading that book in here?"

"She's actually hidden it from me twice but her hiding spots are predictable, now I still haven't been able to locate volumn four of 'Icha Icha Vacation Time Fun' but I'm sure you can speak to your girlfriend about that," this time the man did look up over the brim of his book but his glare was nowhere near intimidating.

"Hn, I'm not getting into the middle of that," Sasuke observed as the old man signed and finally put the book down.

"Well since I can't put her in jail for theft of the Hokage's personal property I guess I will have no choice but to arrest you as a substitute."

"Hn like you could, I highly doubt if Tsunade knew you would abuse your power like this she would chose you to be her successor," Sasuke wasn't the least bit afraid of what this man could do.

"Abuse is such a harsh term Sasuke, you know I'm more a field man than a political leader anyway," Kakashi snatched up the scroll from the pile and unfurled it to read the contents.

It wasn't much longer after Sakura found out she was pregnant that Tsunade decided to retire as Hokage, she never intended to be the leader of the village for long and she felt Naruto was ready to take over; however the council had another opinion on the matter.

"What do you mean he can't be Hokage!? Do you realize he is the main reason we won the war!" Tsunade slammed her fist on the table causing it to violently shake under the force, and several of the council members to flinch. She already wasn't happy that this group chose Danzo as her replacement while she was hurt and now they were trying to over rule her once again.

"We are aware of what the boy did during the war, but we must also take into account his inexperience in leading a team... let's not forget he is still a genin."

"That's bull and you know it! He hasn't been a genin since the attack during the chunin exam; not to mention he rallied our troops to stop Tobi from releasing the ten tailed beast!" Shizune cringed behind her mentor's chair, she knew Tsunade had a soft spot for Naruto and would fight till the end for him; but nearly breaking the table wasn't going to win her case.

"On paper he is still a genin, and no one has been given the title of Hokage from the rank of a child. Not to mention his age, the boy isn't even nineteen; we need them out in the field doing missions not leading the village."

"Your age shouldn't matter, the damn Kazakage was appointed at sixteen, the title of Hokage should be given to the person who will do what is best for the village; the one person who is willing to sacrifice everything for the people they are protecting and I know Naruto will do that."

"Naruto is too trusting of everyone, he cannot see the danger some of his own actions can cause to the village, case in point the Uchiha."

"Don't bring up Sasuke in this, yes the boy defected when he was younger but our own elders caused that and see where it got them. He helped us win the war and has been a model citizen since then because Naruto never gave up on him; we can argue this for days but I'm not changing my mind about who I will chose as my successor."

"Lady Hokage, we are not saying you have to; however this council will not agree to allow the boy to become the next leader... for now."

"For now? Explain," Tsunade's ears perked up at the slight suggestion that time was merely the issue.

"There is no question that with some time Naruto will make an excellent Hokage but we don't believe right now is a good time." Tsunade wasn't please with the decision but she knew they weren't going to budge so she had to go with her plan b... and he wasn't going to be happy about it.

"Have you spoken to Naruto about this?"

"Yes and he understands, but know this Hatake, I'm putting it in my stipulations that he is to be your successor."

"Trust me lady Hokage there is no one more deserving, I am just holding the place till he's old enough."

It was a few days after the meeting with the council that Tsunade told Naruto what they had decided and though he was disappointed he didn't let it show. She informed Kakashi of his new position the next morning, he wasn't pleased he would have to remain out of the field for a few years but he knew it was for the good of the village.

"As long as we're clear on that; I want him to continue his studying to... don't let him slack off."

"Hn... and here I thought I would get a break from teaching."

"You aren't going to slack off either you hear me, and if I see one porn book in this office I'm having Sakura come after you!"

Kakashi cringed at that, he knew his female student didn't like his taste in literature and she would enjoy nothing more than shredding his poor books; and with her hormones kicking in she just might do that.

"Why are you still in my office Sasuke, you afraid to go home?"

Sasuke could hear the amusement in his sensei's voice without having to see the smile on his face due to his mask and rolled his eyes at the absurd question. "Hn, I don't have anything to fear, I'm not the one that sent myself on that mission, now you on the other hand may be in her sights," Sasuke wore a triumphant smirk on his face as he pulled out the bag of baked goods from within the inner pocket of his cloak.

"I'm impressed you thought ahead to cover yourself but what about your poor dear old sensei; what did I tell you about leaving a teammate in the lurch?"

Sasuke had already turned to head out the door by the time he answered that question, "This isn't that type of mission old man, everyone for themselves when it comes to Sakura's wrath."

"I thought it was your job as a shinobi of the leaf to protect your Hokage form any threats."

"Weren't you the one that said rules are made to be broken?" Sasuke didn't wait for a reply as he closed the door to the office, he really needed to get home soon or even the pastries wouldn't save him.

The foot traffic in the village had picked up some since he arrived early this morning but as it was barely past nine it wasn't crowded to the point of one being sandwiched between people buying items from the vendors. The store owners had made quick work of the snow but judging by the over hanging clouds Sasuke was certain it would snow again tonight and they would be out once more tomorrow shoveling.

A few children were having a snow fight not far from where Sasuke was standing, watching them race about trying to dodge their friends' attacks brought a smile to his face while he pictured one day his own child would be doing that with their friends; he could never picture which combination of features his child would have but for some reason he always could picture clearly a little blond boy trailing behind. The only reasonable explanation Sasuke could came up with was that Naruto would never shut up talking about it whenever he saw him.

Like Sasuke had thought it didn't take his idiot best friend long to hunt him down after he dropped that unexpected bomb in Ichiraku's back in August; in fact the blond nearly broke down his door the next morning demanding answers. "Teme open the damn door now! If you don't I'm coming in there and dragging your ass out here boxers and all... I'm sure your fan girls would love that!"

Naruto's violent banging was halted when the door was ripped open and a very annoyed Uchiha was standing there ready to kill him. "It's seven in the morning why the hell are you screaming?"

"Don't you blame me for this Sasuke, you dropped like the bomb of the century on me yesterday in some cryptic ass message and then left! You've been back for two years and not once have you mentioned Sakura in any conversation; hell I thought you two still weren't talking and low and behold you've been sleeping together long enough to make a baby!" Naruto's voice grew louder the longer he talked and Sasuke began to panic, he didn't want the whole block to know about the pregnancy, Sakura's parents didn't even know yet, and with his screaming it was bound to be heard by someone and the whole village would know by the end of the day.

"Naruto keep your voice down I don't need the neighbors to know about this."

"Why keep it a secret, everyone will know soon enough when Sakura looks like she swallowed a beach ball; did you plan on not telling anyone till the kid was here or were you just going to ignore it... that's it wasn't it! You were going to ignore it weren't you, you're acting like it doesn't matter like it was a one time thin-... you bastard!" Sasuke watched in confusion as Naruto's ranting went from reprimanding to full on rage and then the blond lunged at him. Sasuke hadn't been prepared for the attack and so when Naruto threw his whole weight into him both boys fell back into the apartment and crashed to the floor.

"What the hell is wrong with you Naruto!" Sasuke tried to avoid the other man's fists as they aimed for his face but he could only do so much in the way of movement with Naruto sitting on top of him.

"That's how it was wasn't? You tricked Sakura into sleeping with you huh, a one night type deal, let her have a taste of what the Uchiha had to offer; but you and your superiority didn't possibly think she could become pregnant by one romp in the sheets. I bet you laughed at her when she told you she was carrying your child didn't you; she's probably at home right now crying her eyes out over you! I won't let that happen, I won't let you ignore them like that!" Naruto's anger was like nothing Sasuke had ever seen before as he kept trying to mark the Uchiha's face.

"Naruto have you gone insane!?"

"You have Teme if you think I'm going to allow you to just abandon them like that!"

"What is going on out here, can't a girl get any sleep!"

Both boys stopped their fighting when a very familiar, yet annoyed, voice drew their attention down the hall to where the very woman they had been talking about was standing with her hands on her hips and a glare on her face at being so rudely awaken. Now normally anyone on the end of Sakura's infamous glare would cower and beg for their lives, as Naruto has done often over the last few years; however at the moment he was too shocked at what he was seeing to be afraid.

With the blond no longer trying to kill him Sasuke too turned to look at his girlfriend but what he saw nearly made choke on his own tongue, "Sakura!" Sasuke quickly punched Naruto in the stomach and since he wasn't expecting that it knocked the wind out of him; he yelped and fell over which freed Sasuke to jump up and practically rip the shirt he had put on to open the door and force it on Sakura... who apparently in her half awake mine forgot how they went to bed the night before.

A confused expression came to her features when Sasuke raced over to her but by the time her head popped out of the neck hole she had realized she didn't have a top on and just bared it all to the man she thought of as a brother. "Oh my god!" She grabbed the hem of Sasuke's shirt firmly, since he was so much taller than her the shirt came down to her mid thigh, and ran back down the hall to the bedroom where she promptly slammed the door.

With his girlfriend safely hidden away Sasuke was able to deal with their uninvited guest who was still rolling around on the floor though Sasuke doubted it was in pain from the punch to the gut he had dealt him.

"My eyes, my eyes they burn... I'm never going to be able to see again; I'm blind... I can never be Hokage if I'm blind!"

"Would you stop being so dramatic... Sakura has a great body."

Naruto stopped rolling and sat up with a glare on his face, his eyes were blood shot from the rubbing he had been doing, "That's my sister you're talking about Teme."

"Hn, would you knock it off," Sasuke walked into the kitchen and pulled a clean shirt from the pile folded neatly on the table; by the time he got it on correctly he was greeted with Naruto leaning against the wall leading back into the living room. Sasuke braced himself for another attack but after a few minutes and nothing happened he figured the rage had left the blond. "So... you care to explain what that was in there?"

"I think you need to explain first what's going on Sasuke. Is this just a casual thing that turned complicated or is it something more that you didn't want your best friend to know about... keep in mind whatever answer you give I will most likely punch you either way."

"It's not like that Naruto."

Sasuke was surprised to see Sakura come around the corner, he didn't think she would come out of the bedroom at least till Naruto left; but he was proud she was facing her embarrassment and standing there to face this head on. A light blush came to Naruto's cheeks and he couldn't really look her in the eye after the incident a few minutes ago but he would hear what she had to say.

"It's not that we didn't want to tell you, it's just how it all started was too dangerous to reveal," Sakura, now dressed in a pair of shorts and a more her size t-shirt, walked farther into the kitchen to stand next to Sasuke.

"What kind of danger Sakura, if someone is in trouble I can help," at the mention of danger Naruto was ready to jump in and help, no questions asked.

"Everything is okay now, we just wanted to keep our relationship quiet for a while and then..." Sakura paused mid sentence as she turned and buried her face into Sasuke's arm to hide the new blush that coated her cheeks.

"And then... what Sakura-chan!?" Naruto was too preoccupied with wanting to know the whole story that he was oblivious to her discomfort.

"Well... it became exciting thinking we might get caught."

Sasuke couldn't hide his smirk that formed on his lips at his girlfriend's words. They weren't exhibitionists by any means, the most risky place they had had sex was in Sakura's bedroom when she still lived with her parents and the only time they had been outdoors was that first time; but Naruto didn't know that and judging by the look of shock on his face his mind had gone to the conclusion Sasuke thought it would.

"Sa-Sakura... you.. you've been reading Ero-sensei's books haven't you!?" Naruto pointed an excusing finger at his pink haired teammate, his face was beat red again just imagining her secretly reading those porn novels and then wanting to try that stuff out with the Uchiha. Naruto had glanced at a few of the books, hey with Jiraya as your sensei it was bound to happen, but he never could understand why someone would attempt those positions; when an image of his two friends popped into his head trying one out Naruto quickly tried to block it out else he become sick. "And you always yell at Kakashi-sensei for reading them and you're a closet ero!"

"I have never once looked at those disgusting books Naruto!" Sakura was outraged he would think she would do such a thing and nearly lunged at him had Sasuke not grabbed her around the waist to keep her at his side.

"Calm down."

Her medical training kicked in and immediately she remembered during the first trimester undue stress could cause a miscarriage. She took several deep breaths to try and lower her blood pressure while Sasuke spoke to Naruto.

"Look it wasn't anyone's business if we were seeing each other and when we finally decided to make our relationship public you announced your engagement to the Hyuga. Sakura helped with wedding and that's the day, or rather night, that she got pregnant... it would come out sooner or later after that."

"My wedding was two months ago, you've kept it a secret for that long!"

"Naruto, I just found out I was pregnant yesterday and I told Sasuke... though I wasn't expecting him to blab it to everyone at the noodle bar before I told my parents," Sakura shot her boyfriend a glare and lightly slapped his shoulder in reprimand.

The Uchiha shrugged if off like it was nothing, "Hn, I wanted him to stop suggesting I go find a hooker to sleep with."

"What? Teme I would never suggest something like that," Naruto saw Sakura's glare turn his way only this time it was different than the one she was giving the Uchiha a minute before... this one promised some sort of pain on his part.

"That reminds me Naruto, no more men only lunches. I heard what you were talking about yesterday and I will be speaking with Hinata-chan today about it!"

"What!?" Naruto paled when he pictured his wife's face when she was told, everyone in the village thinks the Hyuga heiress is this sweet, shy young woman; but Naruto knew her better than anyone now... and she was far from the bashful little girl she was when she was younger. She was now holding her ground on matters and she may have been hanging around Sakura a little too long since she developed this, at random times, rageful temper... Naruto knew he would be spending the next few nights on the couch.

Sasuke was the happiest he's been in awhile, he found out yesterday he was going to be a father, had great sex last night with his girlfriend/mother of said child to celebrate, and then this morning he was finding out he no longer has to go to those stupid lunches... so far he was having a good twenty-four hours.

Sakura went about making some tea while Sasuke made room at the table for the three friends to sit and continue their conversation. While the Uchiha was in the bedroom putting away his clean clothes that Sakura washed the day before, Naruto took a seat at the table and watched her bounce around the kitchen getting everything for the tea.

"Naruto, why are you staring at me; you've seen me make tea before," even with her back to him Sakura could feel the blond's eyes on her and it was creeping her out.

"Sorry Sakura-chan it's just... I can't believe you're going to have a baby."

The complete shocked in his voice caused Sakura to giggle as she brought the tray of tea over to the table. "I know, it was quite a surprise believe me; but I guess these things happen for a reason huh?" Though she stopped laughing the small smile still reminded on her lips as she poured their drinks.

"What do you mean?"

"Well for a while we had been planning to tell everyone about our relationship but I guess we dragged our feet because we liked it being our little secret; but now we will have to tell everyone before I start showing... it's kind of funny when you think about it," a small giggle left her mouth before she took a sip of her tea.

"What is?"

"Well we've always been very careful when it came to... you know, I wasn't on birth control so the only kind of protection we could use were condoms."

Naruto's face heated up again at his teammate's causal way of talking about her sex life as if she was describing what the weather was like outside. Naruto never had a problem with a guy talking about sex because they didn't spend much time on the details; but over hearing a bunch of women one time talking about it made him uncomfortable and a little self conscious when he found out they compare the size of their partner's junk. He cringed slightly hearing his little sister talk about this and he was ready to bolt if she started about Sasuke's; he had the unfortunate and horrific experience of kissing the Uchiha when they were kids he really didn't want to know what Sasuke's prick looked like.

"And the one time we didn't, the night of the wedding, I got pregnant... I bet that's the last bet Sasuke will ever make," just thinking about how she told the Uchiha the day before caused Sakura to burst into a fit of laughter that left Naruto confused.

"Wait a minute... you're telling me the night of my wedding is when you got pregnant!?"

"Well... Naruto did you think you were the only one who would be intimate that night?" Sakura put her cup down as a frown began to form on her face; surely he wasn't naïve enough to think only he would be having sex that night right.

"I didn't even know you two were together so that was the last thing on my mind! But now... just hearing that... ew!"

"Ew? What ew!?"

"We were really drunk that night how could Teme even... why am I even asking that question!?" Naruto shouted in horror.

"Hn, I told you I could hold my alcohol better than you Dobe," Sasuke reappeared in the kitchen a took his seat next to Sakura facing Naruto with that smug smirk that caused the blond to fume.

"Ha, as if you could get it up drunk off your ass, it's impossible!"

"Hn, and yet who's-."

"Sasuke don't you dare finish that sentence, our baby is not bragging rights for you to rub it in Naruto's face... or need I remind you you merely got lucky," Sakura was not going to allow these two to use her pregnancy as yet another competition between them; she couldn't handle the stress and not to mention what it would put on poor Hinata.

"Hn, he's just mad because he was passed out cold that night."

"Naruto you didn't, I told you not to drink that much, jeez sometimes I don't know why Hinata puts up with you!" Sakura reached over and slapped her friend in the side of his head.

"Ouch! Sakura-chan you shouldn't be so violent in your condition."

"Naruto that's another thing, you are not to tell a soul about this until I tell me parents are we clear; if I hear even a whisper about it from outside of this room Hinata's going to be a widow less than three months into her marriage."

A cold chill ran down Narut's spine at her warning, "Yes.. yes Sakura-chan... I understand."

Even now, months after that incident Sasuke still chuckled at the fear on Naruto's face, not even facing the end of their world scared the blond as much as the petite pink haired woman did that day. Thinking back on it Sasuke really couldn't blame Naruto, it seemed the farther along in the pregnancy Sakura got the worse her temper became and it would seem it was more directed at him than anyone else.

"Well you do know the reason for that don't you Sasuke-san." Sakura's mother words would repeat continuously in his head every time he thought about the tongue lashing Sakura usually dishes out.

The Haruno's were a strange couple in Sasuke's opinion, Mebuki was a very kind woman... well at least to Sasuke she was nice; Sakura took a lot of traits from her mother including her temper so the older woman was very helpful these last few months.

"Oh I was the same way when I was pregnant with her, Kizashi couldn't do anything that wouldn't annoy me; his laugh annoyed me and you know how my husband loves to laugh."

Truthfully no, Sasuke didn't know the male Haruno liked to laugh; apparently, according to Sakura, her father was notorious for telling horrible jokes but Sasuke hadn't heard a word from the man. The Uchiha didn't expect much since he was the reason Sakura was pregnant but one would think so many months after they revealed the news to the older couple the head of the Haruno family would have at least lightened up by now.

"We have to tell them Sasuke... today."

"Why?"

Sakura took a couple of calming breaths before she answered what she thought was a stupid question that came form the man sitting on the end of the bed. "Because can you honestly tell me you believe Naruto will keep his month shut for more than a few hours?"

It was around ten in the morning the same day Naruto had come over demanding answers about Sakura's sudden 'bun in the oven', Sakura again slapped him for that comment, Naruto had left about twenty minutes ago and that was when Sakura demanded they go see her parents.

Sasuke wasn't really too keen on the idea seeing as how he never met them, nothing like meeting your girlfriend's parents for the first time and telling them that you got their daughter pregnant because you were so horny and drunk from the reception of your best friend's wedding that you forgot to pull out because you forgot to get condoms earlier that day... yeah that was just how Sasuke wanted it to go.

"Sasuke, we were both consenting adults, what are you so worried about?"

Sakura was so busy trying to find an outfit to wear she didn't see his eye roll, "Maybe the fact that our first time together you were sixteen and for about six months of our relationship we were in their house fooling around."

"We did a lot more than fooling around you know... are you nervous?" Sakura stopped filtering through her underwear draw to turn and look at him. With being over each others' apartments practically every other night it only seemed logical that half of Sasuke's clothes be at Sakura's apartment and vice versa.

"Hn."

"Oh come on Sasuke, they won't be mad."

"Maybe not at you," Sasuke wasn't afraid that her parents would be mad about the situation, he feared they might take Sakura away from him; she is the only good thing in his life right now and he can't lose her or he knows he will fall into the darkness again. They could possible even petition for the Hokage to not allow him to see his child; if they found out his relationship with their daughter started before he was reinstated into the village they could argue he had corrupted Sakura and make him lose custody of the baby... just that possible outcome made his stomach twist.

"Hey, nothing is going to happen. My mother has been begging me for years to get a boyfriend and settle down so I'm certain you'll win her over easy. Dad on the other hand... well he'll eventually come around I'm sure," Sakura was trying to be comforting but it wasn't helping much. "Sasuke, look it will be better if we're the ones that tell them rather than they finding out through local gossip. Now stop pouting and get in the shower so we can go," she began to tap her foot impatiently while glaring at him.

Sasuke knew when he saw a losing battle, and with Sakura there weren't many wins, so he stood from the bed and made his way over to the bathroom, "I wasn't pouting and you owe me for saving you earlier," his smirk returned as he scooped her into his arms and brought her into the bathroom too... taking two showers when they were pressed for time didn't make sense anyway.

Twenty minutes later, because Sakura had to force them out of the shower otherwise they might have been in there for a few hours, the two were quietly walking down the busy streets of the village heading towards Sakura's parents' home. The closer they got to the street the older couple lived on the more tense Sasuke became, walking so close to him Sakura could practically feel the tension coming off him in waves.

"Sasuke would you relax, you weren't stressed out a few minutes ago," she took his hand in hers trying to help quash his fears, Sasuke didn't protest her touch even with so many people around; the two had decided last night to be more open about their relationship while in public and in turn it wouldn't shock everyone when she began to show.

"Hn, a few minutes ago I had something to distract me from this."

Sakura's face heated up at what he was hinting at... the reason their shower took an extra ten minutes. Sasuke's smirk came back seeing how flustered his girlfriend had become just at his words, one good perk about Sakura being pregnant protection wasn't really needed anymore so Sasuke could initiate an intimate act anytime he wanted... which just so happened to be during their shower.

Sakura took a step away from him, "Well that's not happening now, come on you've faced far worse than this."

Sasuke didn't have time to respond as they turned the corner and were greeted with the couple they had come to visit coming from the direction of the market, arms full of groceries and curious but happy looks on their faces at seeing their daughter.

"Oh Sakura! What a pleasant surprise, you didn't say you were stopping by today," Mebuki dropped all the bags she had been carrying into her husband's arms, despite his protests, and raced over to hug her daughter.

"Um yeah it was a spur of the moment type thing actually Momma; sorry I haven't stopped by more but I have really odd hours at the hospital."

"Yes yes such a busy girl you are dear but you must take time out of that schedule and start dating; you're only young once you know and soon all those boys will be either married or looking for someone younger. Oh just look how thin you are, you need to eat more sweetheart... boys now a days like a little meat on their bones."

"Momma!" Sakura was mortified her mother started to knit pick at all her flaws with Sasuke standing right there.

"Oi, she doesn't need a boyfriend!" Kizashi was not pleased his wife was so eager for their little girl to go off and find a husband, she was too young in his opinion to even begin to have those ideas.

"Oh hush honey, I would like grandchildren while I'm still young enough to spoil them!" Mebuki shot her husband a very similar glare that her daughter possessed and in that very minute Sasuke prayed their child would not inherit that trait; a pink haired child he could deal with but he only needed one of those glares living with him.

"Um... well exactly Momma that might be sooner than you think."

Three sets of eyes turned to Sakura as she let out a nervous giggle. Sasuke didn't think he could get any paler than he actually was but he was pretty sure his complexion lightened a shade when Sakura just blurted that out.

"What do you mean sweetheart?" Mebuki knew that nervous giggle her daughter just let out, when Sakura was a child and tried to hide a secret if she guessed it correctly that giggle would make an appearance.

"Sakura what's going on?" Kizashi had a very bad feeling as to why his daughter was visiting and it was then that the older man finally noticed Sasuke standing not too far behind his little girl, "Sakura, what's he doing here?"

"Well... can we go inside before we explain anything?" Sakura tried to give a reassuring smile to ease her parents growing worry but just looking at her father's face she knew that wasn't happening.

"Alright Sakura... we're inside, now what's going on?" Mebuki's forest green eyes narrowed when they looked at her daughter who was nervously playing with the fringe on her shirt. Sasuke was shocked at the complete one eighty the older Haruno was did once they were in their home.

"Well... Momma... Papa... I'm going to have a baby," Sakura figured it would be best to just get it over with quickly like ripping off a band aid rather than drag it out... they're going to be mad either way.

Sasuke stood quietly behind Sakura observing the scene, he wasn't liking the shocked and angry looks coming from her mother and father; he knew as civilians they wouldn't have the strength to attack him but he also knew he couldn't hurt them should they attempt to strike him. Sakura would be devastated if he killed her father and frankly Sasuke would prefer if his child had at least one whole set of grandparents that were alive.

Mebuki was the first to speak, "You're... you're pregnant?"

"Yes Momma, I hadn't been feeling well the past week and I thought to take a pregnancy test and it-,"

"Why did you think to take that... you could have had the flu."

"Though the flu symptoms are similar Papa, it wasn't the flu; I'm a medic remember I can tell the difference. Plus when I got the positive test at home I went and got blood drawn to confirm, I got the results back yesterday... my due date is in February."

It was at this point Mebuki let out a high pitch scream that made Sasuke cover his ears and the others in the room to cringe. "You're pregnant! Finally I'm getting a grandchild, oh there's so much to do, we have to go shopping and buy clothes and a crib... oh and diapers, lost of diapers. Oh I'm so excited!" She raced over to where Sakura was sitting and drew her into another hug.

"Wait a minute Mebuki, we can't just ignore this, how did this happen Sakura? And the most important question is... who is the father!?" Though his wife was excited Kizashi was outraged at this news, yes he was happy about getting a grandchild, but he still needed to protect his child.

"Oh Kizashi, you know how children are conceived otherwise Sakura wouldn't be sitting here!" Sakura let out an awkward squeak as her face heated up for the fourth time today, she really didn't want to know how she was conceived nor did she want her father knowing about her sex life. "She's a young healthy woman, we've already talked about the possibility of her having a relationship with someone... that's why she got her own place."

"Oh my god Momma you didn't," she knew her parents were embarrassing but she had hoped they would have some control in the company of a guest... obviously she was wrong and she was kind of regretting haven dragged Sasuke with her to tell them. Sakura secretly glanced back at the Uchiha to see his reaction to all this, but like any situation where he was uncomfortable he basically shut down and had no readable expression on his face.

Sasuke had never dealt with family situations like this, no one in the Uchiha clan had a child before marriage and since he was one of the youngest in the clan he couldn't remember ever going to a celebration for a new birth. His clan was very private anyway so if any children were going to be born Sasuke wouldn't have known. Standing here watching the range of emotions filter across these two peoples faces he understood what his childhood lacked and he knew he would not let happen to his own child.

"You're missing the point Mebuki, who is going to help her with the baby," Kizashi didn't want to anger his wife but he needed for her to see past the excitement of a grandchild to the fact that their daughter maybe a single mother.

"I am." Sasuke spoke for the first time since being in the Haruno's presence which since neither of the two had ever heard him speak before caused them both to jump and turn their attention to him.

"You are Uchiha-san?" Mebuki had her suspicions as to why the boy had been following her daughter like a shadow but she didn't want to jump to a conclusion; she knew he and Sakura were teammates and that her daughter had a crush on the boy when they were children but there could be multiple reasons he was here now.

"Momma... Papa... Sasuke and I have been in a relationship for the last two years... he's the baby's father."

"Oh!"

"What!? You've been seeing this boy for two years... has he been in this house!?"

"Kizashi, what's done is done, there's no use dwelling on the past, you'll get heart burn; let's focus on the future and the beautiful grandchild we will have!" It didn't matter to Mebuki if Sakura chose to raise the baby alone because they would always be there for her, though she was pleased to know that the father was in the picture and stepping up; not to mention he was a very handsome young man... there was no doubt in her mind the baby would be beautiful. Mebuki could barely contain herself, she jumped up and ran around the couch to hug Sasuke as well; at the contact Sasuke immediately stiffened up not one for physical contact from people he hardly knew. "Don't worry, it may take Kizashi a little while to get used to the idea, but he'll come around."

Sasuke could not understand how this family worked, Sakura's father was expressing an emotion he could understand, it was clear the man did not like him; but her mother confused him, she was actually happy her daughter was pregnant and not married. Not to mention they were just told about their relationship the same day they found out they would be grandparents.

Little did the other three people know but Mebuki had a secret of her own, some time back when Sakura was still living at home the older woman had decided to run to the market earlier than she normally did; so upon her return she was quite surprised to see the Uchiha standing on the balcony of her daughter's room. He didn't notice her standing just down the street so she stood there to find out what he was doing there; she knew when Sakura was younger this boy was all she talked about but as far as she knew, and through Naruto, the two haven't shown a bit of interest in each other since the boy returned to the village. So Mebuki was very surprised when she saw her daughter appear next and embrace the boy in a hug that spoke that their relationship was far past the friend stage which was farther confirmed when the Uchiha bent down to kiss her. Mebuki blushed at the obvious display of love the two younger people were showing, the mother in her knew she should scold the two, it was clear they had a relationship and if he had spent the night it was very serious; but as the Uchiha backed away and disappeared from sight and Mebuki saw the happiness on Sakura's face she knew she couldn't say anything. She knew her daughter was in love with that boy and he cared for her grately too, it reminded her a lot of the relationship she shared with her husband; and so with a soft chuckle Mebuki headed into the house and silently prepared for when Sakura would tell her everything.

So while Mebuki had been prepared for when the two finally came clean about their relationship she hadn't expected a pregnancy announcement with it but she figured what was done was done and there was no point in getting angry over it like her husband chose to do. The young couple would need all the help they could get, and with Sasuke's family gone it was up to them to step in and be the best grandparents this child deserved.

And step up they did, Sasuke remembered not even a month after they told the Harunos they were over practically everyday; it became annoying sometimes when Sasuke just wanted to spend time alone with Sakura but other times it was a god send for the frazzled nineteen year old's nerves. Sasuke remembered in late September, just after Kakashi was appointed Hokage, was when Sasuke decided they should get a bigger place and move in together.

"Move in together? Are you sure Sasuke, I know you like your space."

"Hn, there's no point in paying rent for two apartments when we're either at one or the other all the time; we can get a bigger place that has an extra bedroom for when the baby arrives."

"Yay but... won't you be annoyed if I'm always around? And with the hormones kicking in I'll be a terror to live with."

"Hn, I would prefer if you were with me when that happens that way I don't have to race across town to see what's wrong." Sakura was still hesitant in his request but Sasuke refused to allow her to say no.

Unfortunately the planned day of the move Kakashi had an emergency mission he needed Sasuke to go on and he didn't have much choice as it was a few of the prisoners he let escape Orochimaru's northern hideout attacking border towns between the lands of rice and fire. He returned three days later to an apartment of boxes and an hysterical Sakura sitting at the kitchen table having a melt down about how nothing fit anywhere and she made a mess of the place.

He wasn't sure how to handle this, and he also wondered how she got all her stuff there alone, "Sakura, you didn't carry all this stuff yourself did you?"

"What? No... I got Naruto and Sai to help but then they ditched me the jerks; when I get my hands on them I'm going to kill them!" Sakura's tears dried up fast and turned to rage thinking about her male teammates leaving so quickly; but then a second later she was back to crying. "They didn't want to be around me because they're afraid I'll hit them... no one wants to be around me because I'm pregnant!"

"What? Sakura don't be ridiculous-."

"I'm ridiculous now am I Sasuke!? I wasn't ridiculous when you wanted me to move in with you, I wasn't ridiculous when you got me pregnant! It's your fault no one wants to be around me, that was your plan wasn't it, to keep me hidden away in here!"

"I think we need to call your mother." Sasuke was completely terrified of this tiny woman, he never would have thought a baby could do that much to her.

"Oh is that your solution for everything, just call my mother and pass me off to her; that's not going to work Sasuke, this is your damn responsibility and you're going to take it!"

"Oh my... what is going on in here, Sakura I could hear you screaming from the street and why are you yelling at Sasuke-kun?" Mebuki's voice filled the apartment much to Sasuke's relief and she quickly maneuvered around some boxes to get to the kitchen. "I bumped into Naruto this afternoon and he told me that he and your other teammate helped you move into your new place with Sasuke-kun," she looked around at all the boxes a little surprised by the amount.

"Momma, they didn't help me unpack at all and now there's stuff everywhere and the place is a mess," Sakura raced over to seek comfort from her mother as tears fell again.

Mebuki looked over her daughter's head to the Uchiha for an explanation but Sasuke just kind of shrugged having no idea why she was worried about the mess. "Sakura, sweetheart, you're upset about a little clutter? Honey you're moving it's expected to be a little bit messy the first few days; but it will get better. Sakura you can't get so upset over such little things, it won't be good for the baby," Mebuki gently rubbed her daughter's back trying to calm her down.

"But... I don't want Sasuke to change his mind... I wanted everything clean before he came home; I don't want him thinking I'm a clutter bug."

Though Sakura was practically mumbling into her mother's shirt Sasuke could still pick up every word, "Sakura why would you think I would change my mind about us living together because of a few boxes?"

"I know you like your place spotless and with all this stuff around I didn't want you to think this was how I lived and you made a mistake asking me to move in with you."

A smile came to Mebuki's face as she watched the Uchiha calmly approach and gently take Sakura into his arms, "Sakura, I know you aren't as particular about messes as I am, I've had to pick up your clothes enough in the last two years to know this." A blush came to both the couple's faces when Mebuki cleared her throat to remind them that she was still in the room; she had already revealed to them that she knew about their relationship but she didn't need to know the more intimate details. Sasuke pushed passed his embarrassment to finish his sentence knowing his girlfriend needed to hear it, "But that doesn't matter to me. I know this isn't how you live nor would it make me change my mind about you living with me... nothing you could do would change my mind."

Sakura pulled her face from his clothed chest but didn't look up at him when she spoke, "Even when I get hormonal like this? It's only going to get worse the farther along I am."

"I'll admit I wasn't ready for that just yet but I do adapt rather quickly to situations so I think I can handle it form now on." That drew a giggle from the woman in his arms as she pictured all his quick strategic training being put to the test while on diaper duty.

"Now that that's all taken care of why don't you and I start tackling these boxes while Sasuke-kun goes and gets dinner?" Mebuki turned to the closest box and began to unpack and break it down.

Sakura's eyes lit up at the thought of food, "Oh yes tempura sounds good."

Sasuke didn't have much choice to disagree as he face down two sets of nearly identical green eyes; he knew he wouldn't win this one either," Aa... I'll go."

Mebuki was there for a lot of those emotional break downs over the next few months, Sasuke could have probably handled them himself but it would seem the farther into the pregnancy she got the quicker her temper was easy to trigger... and Sasuke seemed to set her off a lot.

"Uchiha Sasuke where have you been!?"

Sasuke was pulled from his thoughts of his enraged girlfriend by another equally crazy woman that seemed to be popping up a lot more over the last few months. "Ino."

"Don't Ino me you bastard, how dare you except such a long mission right before Sakura gives birth! You promised her you wouldn't leave for anything and here I find out she's been alone for three weeks... you've got some nerve to do that. If she wasn't ready to pop any day now I'd possess your ass and make you take a long walk off a short cliff!" The small Yamanaka woman came barreling down the street the minute she spotted her best friend's idiot boyfriend, nearly knocking over several people to reach him, and began shouting at the top of her lungs for everyone to hear to get her point across plus she knew it would piss him off.

"I didn't have a choice in going, Kakashi is trying to get back at me for not telling him where Sakura hid his stupid book," Sasuke frowned at the mere thought that this woman could possibly think she could make him do anything with genjutsu. He then looked past the blond to the stoic artist that was standing behind her trying to tell him, wordlessly, to rein in his girlfriend.

At sometime, don't ask Sasuke when, after Naruto's wedding somehow these two became a thing; Sakura said it was bound to happen since Sai was always giving Ino complements, thought Sasuke doubted the guy knew what he was doing, and the two just started dating. They weren't as subtle about it, with Ino being a loud mouth as she was and Sai having no filter at all, as Sasuke and Sakura were. Sasuke had the misfortune of not being able to skip a lunch with the guys in June when Sai decided to share his latest bedroom romp with the woman; luckily Naruto freaking out half way through caused the other man to stop his story but the damage had been done and Sasuke knew more about Ino than he ever would want to... thinking back on it now still made the Uchiha nauseous and a shiver to run down his spine.

"That's no excuse Uchiha, there were plenty of other shinobi to pawn that mission off to and yet you took it! Sakura has been beside herself with worry over the last week that she would give birth and you wouldn't be there and with the weddings coming up I couldn't be there for her... that kind of stress isn't good for either of them!"

"I don't believe I asked you to look after them anyway, her mother would stop by everyday to check on her," Sasuke was starting to get annoyed that she was telling him how to handle his girlfriend, he had been caring for Sakura for months and now she was blaming him for doing his job.

"Don't give me that attitude, I've had enough of it dealing with all this stuff thrown at me from my teammates I won't take it from you too. Sakura is my best friend and I will check on her when I damn well please!"

"Ino, I don't think it's a good idea you get so upset about this," Sai finally spoke up when he noticed there maybe a fight breaking out in the street; he could feel the Uchiha's chakra rising and he didn't want him to unleash an attack right here.

Suddenly the Uchiha's anger fizzled out and his chakra lowered again, "I don't have time for this, I need to get home," Sasuke turned and continued down the street completely ignoring the frustrated scream that came from the woman.

For some reason Ino had a vendetta against him ever since they told the rest of their friends the baby news; which for the life of him Sasuke couldn't figure out why since it wasn't like he cheated on her with Sakura. She also was being a little mean to Sakura about certain things that he picked up on but the pinkette didn't seem to notice which angered him too. And now it seemed she was trying to over step her bounds again and Sasuke wasn't having it.

"Please forgive her Uchiha-san, she has been very stressed these last few months with the weddings." Sai only ever used a respectful title with someone when he was being honest about something important.

"Hn, she needs to know her place and it's not between Sakura and me."

"She feels out of place at the moment, and every book I have read has not covered that topic," Sai seemed a little dejected about not being able to help the woman.

Sasuke didn't think it was a valid excuse for her behavior but he did understand what it felt like to no longer fit in with the group even thought her situation was a little different than his had been.

A few days after Naruto's wedding Shikamaru casually threw out to the group that he and Temari were getting married also and not but a few days after that Chouji had announced that he proposed to Karui, the annoying woman from Kumogakura; both decided to marry within weeks of each other and Ino, being their teammate, felt compelled to help with the ceremonies.

But of course being the heads of two clans of the leaf, not to mention one of the brides was the Kazekage's sister, the celebrations had to be extravagate; Ino could plan a party no problem but when you have two women who were stubborn as mules clashing heads it made for one nasty fight. Ino and Karui didn't get along at all and it put a real strain on the friendship between those in team Asuma.

Of course Sasuke only knew all this because Ino told Sakura one day while she was over; it got so bad at one point Ino refused to speak to either of her teammates for three weeks which delayed the planning. According to Sasuke's calculations both weddings, once everything got settled, should be happening around the last week in March now.

"Hn, maybe you shouldn't try to find your answer in a book. Sakura merely suggested you learn from them not rely on them with all your problems."

"I have tried but she is not interested in having sex at this time."

Sai's blunt statement caused Sasuke to tense up, "Not everything can be resolved with sex what is with you and Naruto!?" Sasuke knew talking to Sai was like talking to a brick wall sometimes but he hadn't thought he was this dense.

"Are you certain Uchiha-san, because Naruto said that was how Sakura and you resolved everything after the war... apparently on your part there was a lot of making up to do." Sasuke made a mental note to go find his idiot friend later this afternoon and set him straight on a few things... or kill him. "How is Sakura by the way? I haven't been able to visit her in a few weeks, and with how our last meeting ended I made sure to stay away." Sai's stated made Sasuke chuckle as he remembered the last time he came over to the apartment.

Sakura had been in a good mood today and decided that she wanted the team over for dinner that night. Sasuke wasn't going to deny the request however he suggested he should cook, with all the odd cravings she had been having due to the baby she has been making very weird dishes; not to upset her Sasuke had been eating anything she made but he doubted their friends would want to. Sakura had been a little disappointed she couldn't cook but got over it quickly when it gave her more time to talk to their friends when they began to arrive. Everything had been going very well until Sai walked in through the door.

"Wow Sakura-san you're far larger than our last team dinner and that was only two weeks ago."

Sasuke knew by the silence in the other room that this wasn't going to end well; everyone knew Sakura had been self conscious of her weight gain during the pregnancy so no one mentioned it... apparently Sai forgot.

"Sai didn't you read that book I gave you about what things not to say to expecting mothers?" That was really all the warning the artist got before Sakura hauled off and punched him with a little more force than necessary; luckily the front door was still open and Naruto managed to get out of the way otherwise he would have been taken out by Sai's body as he flew outside and off the second floor landing. It would seem even after that incident that man had not gone to see their female teammate even with Ino at his side.

"You know if you kept your mouth shut you would know the answer yourself."

Sai shrugged with that stupid fake smile on his face, "I was surprised by her size, I have never seen a pregnant woman up close before. How was I to know her temper was worse than before; Ino was right thought Sakura will not be happy when you return."

"Hn, I know that's why I'm trying to get home but people keep stopping me," Sasuke turned away from Sai and seeing all the people filling the walkway before him he decided it would be better to take to the rooftops to get home now; there he was less likely to bump into someone he knew that would want to talk to him. Why didn't think to do it before caused Sasuke to roll his eyes, he had hoped to have quiet walk through the village while everyone else still slept but as it was now leading up to lunch time and the streets were packed, that idea was shot.

Thankfully Sasuke's apartment was on a side street not too close to the main market place so there weren't many people milling about. The apartment wasn't the one Sasuke had first moved into when the village was being rebuilt, that building still housed many single male shinobi and there was no way he was leaving his pregnant girlfriend there when he was out on missions. The couple had decided if they were going to live together they would need a bigger place for a family of three rather than a bachelor pad. The main room and kitchen weren't very big but the size was made up in bedroom space; the master bedroom took up most of the left side of the apartment with its own bathroom. Next was the guest bedroom that would be turned into a nursery for the baby and across the hall was another bathroom for guest use. The apartment was a good starter home for the small family and later on down the road they would buy an actual house. Sasuke still owned the plot of land the Uchiha district once stood on and over time with the growth in the village he had begun to sell back pieces to allow new homes to be built there. There was a specific spot on the grounds that he was saving to build a house on in the future but that was still a few years away.

Sasuke slowed his pace down as he approached the street that faced his apartment, the building itself sat in the middle of the block at a T-junction in the street so it wasn't hard to miss; he landed on the other end of the street facing his building and continued the walk he had started earlier that morning trying to enjoy the little peace he knew he had left. Despite dragging his feet a little about entering the apartment he couldn't help but feel excited as his eyes locked with the apartment on the second floor half hoping Sakura would already be standing there waiting for him... he of course wasn't disappointed when she wasn't there. Putting his focus on what was going on behind the door he could feel Sakura and the baby's chakra reacting to the other person that also had a very familiar chakra to the Uchiha.

"What the hell is he doing here?" Sasuke had just begun to pick up his pace and was about to jump up to the balcony to get to the door faster when suddenly said door flew open and a rather disheveled looking blond man came sailing out of the apartment and landed in a snow bank not far from where the Uchiha was standing. Sensing Sakura's chakra settle back down Sasuke decided to find out why Naruto was just catapulted of the apartment.

"What are you doing here Dobe?" Sasuke watched with mild amusement as the other man struggled to free himself from the snow pile; despite her violent tendencies Sakura at least cared enough to aim for a soft spot when she launched him.

After some wiggling in the compacted snow Naruto was able to free himself, "Oh hey Sasuke you're finally back!"

"Hn, answer my question Naruto, what are you doing here and what did you do?"

Naruto stood up and brushed the snow from his spiked hair, "What makes you think I did something?" He took off his orange jacket and turned it inside out to get the snow to come out before it stared to melt; Sasuke also noticed he wasn't wearing any shoes.

"Because I know you and I know Sakura and I know you did something to piss her off. Where's Mebuki anyway?" Sasuke knew the older woman didn't like when her daughter acted violent nor would she approve of Sakura punching someone in her condition.

"Haruno-Okaasan wasn't feeling well today and she didn't want Sakura-chan to catch what she had so she asked if I could be company for her today."

Oh yeah the older woman was delirious if she sent Naruto of all people to watch Sakura today. It was appeared upon earlier in the pregnancy that if Sasuke had to go on a mission Mebuki would come check on Sakura every few days to make sure she was okay; and in the even she couldn't be there there was a list of people that were next up to do the job... both Naruto and Sai were way on the bottom.

"If she is sick why isn't Hinata here?" Out of all Sakura's friends the Hyuga was the only one that probably wouldn't get on her nerves at this point; Hinata was the only one that knew when not to speak.

"Hinata-chan hasn't been feeling well either... there must be some b-bug going around." Sasuke looked over to the blond and noticed his teeth started to chatter and he was using his chakra to keep his feet warm, "Um do you think we could go inside now?"

"No, not until you tell me why you were thrown out."

"Oh come on S-Sasuke... I'm freezing here!"

"Hn, that's your fault, I'm not having her mad at me for something you did."

Naruto laughed at that, "Oh trust me bud she's mad at you anyway, I had nothing to do with that; I'm not sure who's she mad at more you or Kakashi-sensei."

"Hn," Sasuke didn't like the sound of that, maybe he should have bought more than just one kind of pastry at the bakery.

The two men began to make their way towards the stairs that would lead them to the second story apartment when Sasuke's reflexes automatically kicked in and he ducked as a pair of shoes came flying out the door. Naruto, who was behind him, was not fast enough however to miss getting hit in face with the projectiles causing him to yelp out in pain and fall back to the ground into another smaller snow drift. Sasuke stood up straight once he was sure nothing else was coming out of the apartment and turned to look at the semi conscious blond once again wondering how this idiot, who couldn't even dodge his own shoes, somehow managed to defeat his ancestor.

"Don't you dare come back in here Naruto, I don't want to see you for the rest of the week!" Sakura's voice filtered from the still open door and despite the rage clearly evident in her tone Sasuke was still glad to hear it after three long weeks.

"You made a comment about her appearance didn't you Dobe," Sasuke knew he was right just by seeing the nervous tick that developed at his friend's brow; Sakura only ban people from her presence if they mentioned her weight gain.

Naruto sat up and picked up his boots and began to put them on, "I couldn't help it, I just got back from a mission myself yesterday and hadn't seen her in a week and I swear she's bigger than before!"

Sasuke stepped out of the line of fire in case the woman inside heard Naruto's comment and decided to throw something else; her aim was usually dead on but he didn't wan to risk it. "Hn, you better learn to control what comes out of your mouth before your wife become pregnant," though it was a bit harsh that was the only good advice the Uchiha could give his friend in regards to extremely hormonal women.

"Yeah I'll try to remember that I guess... well have fun Sasuke; I'll see if you survived next week and if not I'll make sure you are remembered fondly with a bowl of ramen named after you!" Once his shoes were in place and obviously his babysitting job completed for the day Naruto jumped up and ran off, no doubt heading to Ichiraku's for lunch.

Sasuke rolled his eyes at the other man's antics, it still shocked him sometimes how Naruto was probably the least mature out of their age group and yet he was the first one to get married; the Uchiha pondered this as he walked up the stairs and headed into the apartment.

Taking a quick scan of the living room and what he could see of the kitchen Sasuke could see the place was just as neat as he left it before leaving for his mission. Sakura, during the last month of the pregnancy had become somewhat of a clean freak and was constantly cleaning every inch of the apartment. Her mother said it was a phase most women go through called 'nesting' right before a baby is born, Sasuke didn't have a problem with letting her clean as long as she didn't go over board about it; which seemed to happen a few times when he would accidently track snow in and she would spend at least a half hour trying to get it cleaned up. Thinking about that now Sasuke made sure to wipe his boots outside before taking them off at the entrance and putting them away along with his heavy cloak he wore.

"Sakura...I'm home." Sasuke heard the soft shuffling of feet coming from down the hall and even though he had closed the door after coming in he could swear the temperature in the room dropped about ten degrees when Sakura came around the corner. Prepared for a vicious tongue lashing he turned around to face the petite, though heavily pregnant, young woman. Now the Uchiha was never the gut reaction type person like Naruto was but the minute he saw that frown on Sakura's face he panicked and said the first time that came to his mind, "Hello."

Apparently that wasn't what she was expecting to hear from him as her eyes widened in shock for a brief second before quickly narrowing again, "Hello? That's all you have to say is hello!?"

Sasuke didn't feel as confident about bribing her with sweats as he did upon arriving at the village this morning, "Hn."

"Don't you 'hn' me Uchiha," Sakura had always been respectful of his surname and what it meant to him, so for her to blatantly use it when speaking to him he knew she was angry. "How dare you take a mission for three weeks when you know I'm close to giving birth to your child, what happens if I had you would have missed out on the greatest moment in your life!"

Sasuke's mouth once again wanted to work faster than his brain and state that judging by her belly she hadn't yet given birth so he really didn't miss anything; luckily he was able to stop himself before he was in more trouble.

"Do you even care!? You promised you wouldn't leave and then you did, do you know how much undo stress that put on me... not to mention what my mother had to put up with."

"Sakura."

"No, don't you dare say I'm overacting, I have every right to be mad about this!"

"I wasn't saying you didn't and I am sorry it took so long, I didn't intend for it to... they just wanted to make sure all the structures were safe before I left."

Immediately Sakura's anger turned to guilt and shame as she thought about what his mission had entailed; it was obvious she was overacting to something that was far less important than an entire town's safety. Her hands, which had been crossed under her bust in her anger quickly relaxed their tense hold as she began to examine her nails in nervous worry.

"Everyone is okay right... no injuries?" The medic in Sakura awoke form it's slumber after a few months in hibernation. That was another reason why Sakura was probably stressed out, she had been stuck in the apartment with nothing to do for the last two months. With Tsunade stepping down as Hokage she was also passing her duties as chief of the hospital down to her two apprentices as well.

Shizune's time had to be split between rounds at the hospital and helping Kakashi get settled into his new position so most of the hospital duties had fallen to Sakura; of course she was more than accepting of the responsibility seeing as she was on inactive duty due to the pregnancy. At first everything was okay, Sakura was used to the hectic working environment the hospital provided day in and out; but as the pregnancy went along and the amount of hours she was needed there it became impossible for her to handle.

Sasuke will never forget the day Naruto came barging into Kakashi's office while he was debriefing the Hokage on his latest mission and telling him Sakura had passed out at work. Apparently Ino had gone to retrieve the pinkette for lunch only to discover her unconscious on the floor of her office, luckily since they were already in the hospital all they had to do was bring her into a room; Tsunade had been notified and was already shouting out commands like she never left the job by the time team Kakashi had gotten there. After some tests and a few days as a patient rather than employee it was decided that Sakura would need to take early maternity leave; she was going to protest this decision but Tsunade put her foot down. "Sakura don't argue with me on this, I'm not taking away your position, I just don't want you having this baby three months early in your office; you would give the same diagnosis to any high risk maternity case you had so stop thinking like a doctor and start thinking like a mother... listen to what your body is trying to tell you."

After that scare Sasuke started watching her like one of his hawks would its prey and when he couldn't be there due to a mission he asked her mother to come over.

"I'm not a child and I can care for myself... I don't know why he ask you to come over mom," Sakura was sitting on the couch one afternoon in December pouting like the very child she claimed she wasn't while her mother was sitting on the floor folding laundry.

"He asked me because he loves you and that baby and he doesn't want anything to happen to you. And obviously you can't care for yourself otherwise you wouldn't have passed out like you did at work," Mebuki reprimand while digging through through the pile of clean clothes looking for matching socks.

Sakura huffed and began to rub her belly, a habit she developed a few weeks before to try and calm herself down, "It was one time, I worked a little too much that's all, I know my limits they didn't need to put me on bedrest. Mom you don't have to do that, I can fold laundry."

"Oh stop it Sakura, Tsunade-sama said you were to do nothing but rest until that baby is born, and besides I used to due your wash when you lived with at home remember."

"Yay but... my laundry isn't the only things I washed," Sakura's face reddened when her mother pulled a pair of black boxers from the pile and folded them then set them on the stack that was clearly a man's.

"Oh please Sakura, who do you think does your father's laundry, I have seen mens' underwear before," Mebuki rolled her eyes and continued going through the clothes like she'd done it a thousand times.

"Sasuke might mind if he knew his girlfriend's mother was touching his underwear." Sakura mumbled that more to herself than for her mother to hear; she also made a mantle note not to tell Sasuke about this.

"Sakura I know you don't like this but it's not that bad, I'm not here to babysit you, I'm just around to make sure you are okay; you really scared Sasuke when you passed out honey... he was a nervous wreck when he got to hospital and both Naruto and the Hokage had to hold him back from going into the exam while Tsunade-sama looked you over."

"I know..." Sasuke didn't say it in so many words but just by the mere fact that he barely left her side since the incident told her how greatly he was effected.

"Why not instead of seeing this as not that he doesn't trust you to care for yourself but rather that he loves you so much that he has actually asked for help in seeing that you are comfortable; you've told me he wasn't good at expressing outward affection no was he too keen on asking for help... I think he's taken a big leap don't you?"

That was the last time Sakura complained about visitors coming over, she still wasn't happy she couldn't work but her mother had allowed her to do some light house work as long as she wasn't stressing her body out.

"Yes they are all okay, I'm more worried about you now, if I had known Naruto was here I would have left a few days earlier," Sasuke gently guided her over to the couch; he didn't know how long she had been standing and with throwing the idiot blond off the balacony he didn't want her strainging too much.

"I'm perfectly fine thank you very much, I'll have you know I had a check up yesterday and Tsunade said both the baby and I are fine not thanks to the stress you put me under the last three weeks," Sakura quickly swatted her hands away form her not liking the fact that he was trying to force her to sit.

"Hn, I'm guessing I won't be sent on anymore missions for a the next few weeks," Sasuke almost felt bad for Kakashi and what the older woman was going to do to him... surely a previous Hokage can't be thrown in jail for killing the current one right?

"You were top of our class for a reason and it wasn't for your good looks. And once she's done with him I'm taking that disgusting trash he reads and burning every book," Sakura suddenly jabbed Sasuke in the chest which caused him to jump back slightly and bump into the door, "And don't think for a minute you're off the hook buddy; I'm still mad at you for accepting that mission when there are plenty of other shinobi who could have," she punctuated every word of her sentence with a poke to his chest which Sasuke was certain would be bruised later.

"Sakura-."

"Don't give the excuse that you had to go, I've seen you weasel your way out of missions you thought were a waste of time so why was this so different? You wanted to get away didn't you, to have a break from me and the baby, because I'm being so emotional and you can't handle it; well guess what Uchiha, this is your baby so you're going to have to handle how I react since it's your fault my emotions are out of whack anyway!" Oh she was definitely out of whack alright but Sasuke knew not to let that slip out. "That's it isn't it? You don't want to be around me because... because I'm an emotional wreck!"

Sasuke could tell just by the hike in her voice that Sakura was about to cry again, he could just start to see the tears forming in her eyes and knew the wailing would start soon so he did the only thing he could think of. He watched her reaction as he pulled the bag of pastries out of his cloak, the pregnancy heightened her sense of smell to rival that of the Inuzuka clan, he couldn't help the small smile that came to his face when her tears stopped and her little nose started twitching like a rabbits. Sakura's eyes popped open the second her brain registered the smell of chocolate in the air; and they brightened when she saw the little bag hanging in mid air between Sasuke's fingers.

"I was told these were your favorite at the moment," Sasuke gently wiggled the bag when he noticed he had caught her attention.

"Oh Sasuke you're the best!" Sakura quickly snatched the goody bag from his hand, completely forgetting why she was upset with him in the first place and waddled over tot he couch with her treat.

Sasuke was relieved she was, for the minute, distracted and he was able to get her to sit at the same time; if he was a more proud man he may have patted himself on the back for his quick thinking when he returned this morning. But instead he settled for the quiet as his reward and made his way over to sit next to her; despite what she thought he did enjoy her company, more than most of their friends, and would take moments like these over missions any day.

It was shocking to Sasuke how much his values and life goals had changed in such a short period of time. Just to think a mere three years he was hell bent on killing his brother and avenging his fallen clan, and then after learning the truth behind the massacre wanting the village to pay for what it had done to his family; Sasuke could never imagine his out of control teenage self sitting here in this apartment, inside the village, watching Sakura eat pastries while she carried his child. This particular scene wasn't pictured in his head that day he found her waiting out that storm in the cave, but at this moment he wouldn't have it any other way.

Sakura was currently in heaven after a stressful morning of dealing with Naruto; yes she loved the blond as if he were her own brother but some times she just wanted to choke him till his eyes popped out... this morning was one of those mornings.

She hardly got any sleep the night before with Ino calling her so late about last minute wedding details and about how Karui was being a bitch again, and the baby decided it wasn't tired and thought kicking her kidney would be a better way to occupy its time; so needless to say Sakura was exhausted by the time seven rolled around and Naruto burst through the front door without knocking.

"Sakura-chan! Are you awake, your mom sent me over since she's not feeling good; she must have caught the same thing Hinata has... she's been throwing up the past couple days so I'm kind of glad to get out of there for a while."

"Naruto, you do realize that's your wife you're talking about right; I'm certain she's at your beck and call when you're sick," Sakura was not happy about her visiter, she had gotten used to her mother coming over and the older woman was quiet enough that Sakura could fall back to sleep; but with Naruto that wasn't going to happen as he liked to talk and be loud.

"Yay I know she would, but I'm not good with handling sick people; besides Hinata said it was okay that I came over here... she was just going to sleep anyway," Naruto took a quick stroll around the room to see if anything had changed since his last visit a couple days ago; when he didn't find anything of interest he went and plopped on the couch like he lived there.

"Well lucky one of us gets to sleep in," Sakura mumbled under her breath as she went to sit on the other end of the sofa.

Naruto was never one to sit for long so it wasn't surprising that after about five minutes he jumped off the couch and started to head into the kitchen, "Sakura-chan, where's the ramen, how can you not have any at all?"

Naruto's shocked outburst caused Sakura to roll her eyes, "Naruto, not everyone keeps a stock of it at their place. Sasuke barely eats it and all that salt isn't good for the baby."

"So you're saying you don't have any!? Well I'll just go down to Ichiraku's and get some, he should be open by now."

"Naruto, I don't want ramen for breakfast nor do I want it smelling up my apartment; if you're getting it you're eating it out in the snow."

Naruto halted his pursuit of reaching the door and turned to face the pregnant woman, "Neh Sakura-chan you're really grumby today... did you get enough sleep last night?"

"You know what no I didn't and do you know why because I've had a baby dancing on my bladder all night and using my kidney for training. Not to mention I had to hear Ino bitching about the weddings till one in the morning which she still expects me to attend despite the fact that I will be taking care of a new born; so yes I didn't sleep very much last night and I have every right to be crabby about it!"

After that little outburst Naruto was quiet for a few hours, thought he wasn't the world's best cook so Sakura was stuck making breakfast for both of them... she was really starting to miss her mother and the way she pampered her. "Um Sakura-chan..."

"What." She could tell just by the look on his face that what he was going to ask would anger her.

"What are those green things in the eggs?" Naruto hesitantly poked his breakfast with his chop stick.

"They're peppers Naruto, you wouldn't know since you don't eat vegetables, they're good for you so eat them," Sakura had been craving peppers since she started cooking so she just threw them in not really caring who else was going to eat them. Naruto could still hear the bite in her voice so he didn't complain but when she wasn't looking he used his quick reflexes to dig out the peppers and stashed them in his pocket for later to throw away. It wasn't long after that that Sakura got fed up with him enough that she literally threw him out the door.

She had just gotten settled on the couch reading a book when Naruto came out of the spare bedroom they were turning into a nursery for the baby. "Hey Sakura-chan... what are these?"

Sakura tore her eyes away from the book and was about to yell at him for disturbing her again, only her words died in her throat when she saw what was dangling from his finger, "Oh my god where did you find those!? Are you digging through my clothes Naruto!" She tried and failed miserably at getting off the couch to get to his side and snatch the particular article of clothing he had found form him.

"Your clothes? What are you talking about Sakura, I found these in the other room."

Sakura was mortified when she heard where he had found them and doubled her efforts to get off the couch; finally she wobbled to her feet and made her way over to the blond. "Hey! Sakura, why'd you hit me... I just asked a question," Naruto pouted while rubbing the side of his head that the small woman just smacked to distract him from her taking the object in his hand.

"Well if you don't know what they are then you don't need to."

"Oh come on, obviously they're important if you practically rolled off the sofa to get them from me so tell me what they are!"

Sakura glared at his comment but then she became curious about the end, "You mean... Hinata doesn't have any of these?"

"I don't know, I don't know what they are to answer that." Unbeknownst to Naruto he just answered her question with that statement.

Sakura sighed in defeat and slight embarrassment as she knew he wouldn't stop bothering her till he got an answer, "They're... they're panties Naruto."

Naruto suddenly jumped back, slamming into the hallway wall and causing a photo to fall off, with a look of horror on his face, "They're what!? Those are not underwear, Hinata-chan doesn't have those, why would she have them... why do you have them!? Wait have you worn those... oh god!" Naruto began wiping his hands on his jacket and pants when the thought came to mind.

"Oh Naruto grow up, it's just panties, I've had to pick up yours before," Sakura turned away heading to the laundry room in the back of the apartment to put the missing panties in the washer for the next load; she had been wondering where they had disappeared to and she could have sworn she checked the nursery before.

"But that's different Sakura... what were they doing in the baby's room anyway?"

Sakura blushed when she remembered around the time the panties had disappeared, Sasuke was home between missions for a few days and Sakura decided since she was feeling well enough they should start changing the extra bedroom into a nursery.

She had just entered her second trimester so her morning sickness had died down some and her other hormones were kicking in again; she had been trying to tempt Sasuke for the better part of two weeks but the Uchiha seemed hell bent on ignoring her advances or just not interested. The latter had made her begin to worry, maybe now that she was pregnant and starting to show she wasn't appealing to him anymore. And of course Ino's words about watching what she eats came back to her mind, so she tried to cut back on the sweets she had been craving; but even then he still didn't seem to want to touch her so Sakura had to resort to seduction to get what she wanted.

"Sakura... what are you doing?" Sasuke nearly dropped the rocking chair they just purchased on to his foot when he spotted his girlfriend in nothing but his shirt and a pair of her panties.

"What? I'm hot, it's the end of August and we've been shopping all day; can't I relax for a little while?" Sakura innocently asked while turning away from him to finish setting up the changing table with supplies; she knew he couldn't resist looking at her legs or shapely rear for long, not to mention she made sure to bend over just enough for him to get a quick peek at her under garments... she knew she was playing dirty but desperate times called for desperate measures.

This went on for a little over an hour while the two prepared the room till Sasuke's patience finally snapped. "Why are you doing this Sakura?"

"Doing what?" Sakura squeaked when he lifted her off her feet and sat her on the changing table so they would be eye level when they spoke.

"Don't play dumb, you're trying to sedice me."

"I think the better question is why don't you want to touch me anymore?" Sakura fired back with an angry pout on her face.

"W-What!?"

"Yeah you've barely touched me."

"Sakura..."

"Do you know how hurtful that is... you used to always want me and now-."

"And now is no different... you have no idea how hard it's been for me to keep my hands off you the last few weeks," Sasuke took a few deep breaths to try and calm himself down but even while trying that his fingers were still brushing against her hips.

"Then why have you not even tried... you know I would never deny you," Sakura was happy that he wanted her just as much as when they first started their relationship; but now she felt guilty for teasing him and making him suffer more than he already was. She leaned forward and wrapped her arms around his neck intending to pull him closer to her body.

"It's not that Sakura... Tsunade said... I don't want to hurt the baby," Sasuke stiffened when he felt the warmth of her bare thighs cocoon his waist, and his cheeks reddened when he mentioned the reason why he had abstained from physical activity with her.

Sakura had to bite her lip to keep from laughing at what her boyfriend said, apparently he got some information incorrect in regards to pregnancy; either that or Naruto had been telling him horror stories and if that was the case she was killing the blond. "Sasuke... you can't get anywhere near this baby until you're holding it in the delivery room; Tsunade-sama said we had to be careful yes but we don't have to stop being intimate because I'm pregnant," she idly began to play with the small hairs at the base of his neck knowing that was one of Sasuke's weak points; over the past two years Sakura has been able to get very familiar with the Uchiha's weaknesses and she could easily bring him to his knees if she chose too.

Sasuke practically sagged into her arms after he processed what she said, he felt a lot better now knowing his fears were indeed wrong and he would trust his girlfriend over anything Kakashi said in regards to the unknowns about pregnant women, and pulled her close burying his face into her neck. "Thank god because I thought the next couple of months were going to be hell."

"Sakura are you in there... hello!?"

Sakura jumped back when she saw a large tan hand waiving in front of her face; it was then she realized she had been day dreaming about a very steamy afternoon last August, "Y-Yeah I'm here."

Naruto didn't believe her at all, "You were thinking about something pervy you and Sasuke did weren't you."

"W-What? N-No of course not!"

"You were! Wait... That's why those underwear were in there weren't they, you two did it in there!"

"Naruto stop shouting! I don't need the whole building to know about my sex life!" Sakura pushed the blond away so she could go back into the sitting room and read her book; but Naruto was hot on her heels and blocked her from getting back to the couch.

"You did it in your child's room do you realize this, you're innocent baby will have to sleep in a room of defilement!"

"Oh Naruto shut up, the baby won't know what we did in that room before it was born nor will you tell them when they are older; they will realize one day that yes their parents did have sex otherwise they wouldn't be here... everyone does Naruto you didn't just get dropped off by a bird."

Naruto made a face at the thought of his parents like that, that was one mental picture he didn't need, "Ew Sakura, I know I wasn't dropped off by a bird but I really don't need to have that in my head!"

Sakura rolled her eyes, "When are you ever going to grow up?" Seeing as how it didn't seem that the blond would be moving anytime soon Sakura turned to make her way around the other side of the couch to continue to read her book.

"Wait... Sakura... didn't you start setting up the baby's room after you found out you were pregnant?"

"Well yeah Naruto, why would we start decorating before I was... we didn't even live here then," Sakura had just made it back to her seat when his next words halted her decent to the fluffy cushion.

"So you and Sasuke were still having sex after you were pregnant!?"

Sakura turned slightly to face the blond, and wondering for the umpteenth time where the hell her boyfriend was, "Yes... a couple can be intimate up until the time of birth; many chose not to be and others it's too painful or the pregnancy might be high risk. Mine happens to be a safe one, I haven't had any complications other than the fainting in December, and Sasuke's sex drive hasn't diminished so why shouldn't we enjoy each other's company until the baby is born," Sakura righted herself back to her feet with her hands on her hips as she glared at Naruto daring him to question her.

And of course he didn't disappoint, "Why would Sasuke want to touch you?" Now what Naruto had meant to say was why would Sasuke want to touch you in your delicate condition and wouldn't that hurt the baby as he too was given the incorrect information from their sensei; but he didn't nor would he get the chance to correct his mistake as that was when Sakura, without any warning, punched him out of the apartment... which lead them up to this moment right now.

"And that's why he got punched Sasuke, he really needs to learn how to speak to women correctly... especially those carrying babies," Sakura stated while nibbling on a tart, she had already eaten most of the bag while she was talking but she didn't care.

"It could be he was given the same information I was from Kakashi."

"Are you agreeing with him?"

Sasuke could see the angry twitch forming in Sakura's eyebrow and he needed to back peddle quick or he too would be out in the snow. "No... merely stating he may not know what he was saying, I will have to speak to him about it later." He saw Sakura nod her head in approval and he knew he was in the clear again.

"Go and do it quickly."

"Why quickly, you've ban him from the apartment, he won't be back for at least a week."

A Cheshire grin like smile came to Sakura's face, "Because Hinata is pregnant and who knows what her hormones are going to be like," she released an evil cackle like giggle just thinking about the torture the blond will go through with his normally soft spoken wife carrying his child.

"How did you find this out?" Sasuke couldn't believe it, he knew Naruto had wanted children for a while and with him and Sakura's announcement back in July he knew his best friend had stepped up trying for children; he paled slightly when his vision from earlier returned to his mind... for some reason he had a feeling that little blond boy was going to be a thorn in his side.

"Well Ino and Hinata were over yesterday and during lunch I noticed Hinata looked a little green, plus I'm a medic and can spot those things."

Sasuke didn't comment on her sixth sense, "Does he know?"

"Well she did say she was going to tell him yesterday, but judging by how he acted today and the fact that he didn't come barging in announcing he was going to be a father... I don't think she told him yet."

"Hn... we will hear about it when she does."

"Um... Sasuke what are you doing?" Sakura had began to ramble off on what he had missed during his time away though she doubted he was really paying attention when she suddenly felt two large rough hands gently grab her ankles and turned her body on the couch so her feet were resting in his lap rather than the coffee table.

"Continue... what did your mother buy at the store yesterday," It turns out he had been paying attention to what she was saying, she blushed in embarrassment thinking he hadn't.

"What are you doing Sasuke," she tried to pull her legs towards her as much as possible with her large belly in the way but Sasuke tightened his grip to stop her. "Sasuke let go," she whined when he refused. Over the past few weeks it had been harder for Sakura to maintain her normal beauty routine with her extended waist line so some things had to be let go. Being winter and very cold and since she had been wearing a lot of pants lately she skipped shaving for a few days; but now having Sasuke rubbing up her calf she really regretted that decision now.

"Relax Sakura, it's clear you had a stressful morning and I haven't been here... I want to help you," Sasuke couldn't understand why she was fighting him, yes he could tell her legs weren't as smooth as she normally had them but it was barely noticeable and he knew she wouldn't be able to reach them with her stomach in the way... it didn't bother him so it shouldn't bother her.

"Sasuke no I haven't... oooohhhh," Sakura tried to bend forward to grip his hands but she released a throaty moan and fell back to the pillow when he began to message her feet. With the third trimester of her pregnancy and the healthy weight of the baby Sakura's body had begun to ache with the extra pounds. At first she had been using small amounts of chakra to ease the pain but when it became clear she was getting tired from just that she had to stop. Sasuke noticed her pain, thought she tried to hid it, and suggested he could help by giving her a message. At first she refused, not seeing Sasuke as the touchy feely type other than when they were having sex, but when the aches became too much she finally gave in and when he was finished she could have kicked herself for not letting him do it the first time. His touch was like small sparks of pleasure up and down her back and it wouldn't surprise her if he was using a lower voltage of the chidori against her spine... not that she was complaining since every time she was left completely satisfied.

So now whenever she had an ache she didn't even have to ask him... which now was backfiring for her when she didn't want him to. Sasuke couldn't hid his smirk when he saw her eyes roll back in pleasure, she hadn't been feeling comfortable the last month to be intimate so he had to find another way to please her; he wasn't a masseuse by any means but he did pick up a few things while he was away from the village.

Sasuke excelled at everything he did so he quickly became good at knowing the exact spots that caused Sakura pain; of course he didn't brag about his skills to anyone since he wasn't going to have Naruto begging for a message... Sasuke didn't like touching others but he made that exception for the mother of his child.

The couple sat in silence, other than a delighted hum or soft moan from Sakura whenever Sasuke pressed against a particular spot that needed attention, for a good while before Sakura spoke up again. "You know you owe my mother pretty big for baby sitting me while you were gone; she caught a cold from being out in this weather."

"Aa, I know... I bumped into Ino on the way home, we got into a bit of an argument on the street."

"Really... she has been crabby lately, what with the wedding in a few weeks... but I think something else is going on too," Sakura tapped her fingers on her belly and let out a giggle when she got a soft kick back from the baby in response.

"Why would you say that?" Sasuke didn't really care what was going on with the blond woman, if he had a choice he wouldn't see her for the next six months but he knew that wouldn't happen since she was Sakura's best friend.

"Well I suspect she might be pregnant too... no more than a few weeks maybe but she doesn't know it yet... give it time and I'm sure after the wedding she'll tell me," Sakura was rather excited to know that her child won't be the only one from their rookie class born this year; she had been so worried that since she got pregnant so early that her baby would have to grow up alone being older than the other children their parents were friends with... but now she didn't have to worry anymore.

Sasuke cringed thinking about that woman being pregnant and the nine months of hell that will be, "Hn, Sai is in for trouble if she is."

"What's that supposed to mean? Was I that much trouble for you!? Was I a burden because I'm carrying your child, here if you want a turn with the incubation process believe me I'm all for it." Sakura's temper flared back up at Sasuke's mistake in words, even though he made no reference to her at all, but luckily the right pressure point on the ball of her foot made Sakura squeak and relax back into the pillow again... he knew all her secret spots just as she knew his.

Seeing it was well past time for lunch, and Sasuke could hear Sakura's stomach growling despite nearly eating all the tarts he brought, he decided he should get up and make something for the two of them and then maybe he could convince her to take a nap with him. "I know you had an appointment yesterday, I'm sorry I wasn't here, did everything go okay?"

He was at the stove cooking up stir fry for lunch while Sakura was watching from the table. Ever since they found out she was expecting he tried to make all her doctor appointments but a few, like this one, fell on times he was away; he felt really guilty for not being there so he would ask about them the minute he got back. Sakura never blamed him for missing the appointments since it wasn't his fault a mission would need his attention; she also made sure that no significant milestones happened at those visits... this particular visit couldn't be helped though.

"Well everything is okay, baby is in a good position and my due date is next week so really it could happen at anytime now."

Sasuke was plating the food while listening to her every word, he liked getting the updates about his child and he made a mental note to go to Kakashi tomorrow and request to be placed on inactive duty for a few months... he was not going to miss the birth of his child. "Should we have a bag prepared just incase?"

Sakura stopped the act of bringing food to her mouth and turned to give the man a questioning look. At her scrutinizing stare Sasuke bowed his head to hide his blush and shrugged his shoulders, "I took one of your pregnancy books with me on the mission and read it at night."

A small smile came to Sakura's face but she didn't make a big deal about his gesture knowing he wasn't one that liked to be praised over what he thought were insignificant acts; so instead she chose to answer his question, " Mama already has a bag packed and it's by the door."

"Hn," Sasuke was happy she didn't make a big deal about him reading the book even though he knew it meant a lot to her. To him it was the least he could do since sh ewas really doing all the work during this pregnancy; truthfully he felt a little left out so he read the book to get a little more knowledge and understanding as to what she had been going through the last nine months and in a way to be closer to the baby as well.

After lunch was finished and Sasuke washed the plates and ran to take a quick shower he suggested maybe an afternoon nap that Sakura readily agreed to since she was woken open so early that morning by Naruto; but it would seem one of the three people just didn't seem to agree with this plan. "Apparently they aren't tired like mommy and daddy are."

"Hn... apparently."

Sakura and Sasuke were cuddled up in their bed but neither were able to sleep with the squirming baby in Sakura's belly. Sasuke had been laying on his back with her pulled tight to his side but that meant her stomach was too and so he could feel every kick and wiggle the tiny being made and it didn't seem to be settling down anytime soon. "I could go back out in the other room and read my book if you want to sleep," she had been making a move to leave the bed but the hand around her waist tightened and prevented her from doing so.

"If I wanted you to leave I wouldn't have asked you to join me in the first place."

Sakura smiled again and buried her face into his chest getting comfortable again, one hand she had idly on her stomach trying to calm the baby down; but for some reason as if sensing what it's mother was trying to accomplish the baby refused to obey and to spite them sent a hard kick to Sasuke's side. "Hn... it would seem he's going to inherit your strength," he bit back a groan and was once again amazed at how much pain she could withstand... he was certain he would have a bruise on his side later.

Sakura let out a nervous giggle at his statement, "Yeah about that actually... there was one bad thing about yesterday's appointment."

Bad and baby appointment were not words Sasuke wanted to hear in a sentence so when his mind registered what she said he was immediately wide awake and sittin gup wanting an explanation. "What do you mean bad, is something wrong with the baby?" Immediately all the scenarios Sasuke read in the book were flashing in his mind and he was trying to remember the possible dangers they could cause to mother and child.

"Wait no, nothing is wrong with the baby," Sakura, because he had moved, was forced to sit up as well and she could see clearly the panic on his face which she had to quickly explain her words.

"Then what is the bad news... are you okay?"

"Yes everything is okay, I'm healthy and the baby's healthy... it's just that," Sakura looked down at her hands in nervousness not sure how to tell him this without upsetting him.

"Sakura what is it," Sasuke rarely got angry with her these days but now that he knew neither the baby nor she were in danger he was getting annoyed that she was being hesitant in answering him.

"Do you remember that horrible bet Naruto got you involved in last fall?"

Sasuke rolled his eyes at the irony of her question, he was not a gambling man but it would seem whenever Naruto was involved he couldn't help himself. "Yes I do," despite still not remembering most of the night their child was conceived, he remembered this particular day in November simply because of the fit Sakura herself threw when she found out about it.

The girls had decommissioned those stupid 'guys only' lunches by this time but Naruto was still determined to have some sort of function every few weeks at Ichiraku's; so instead of calling them lunches he changed it to meetings... not very original but hey it's Naruto.

And of course since Sasuke was his best friend and away a lot more, either due to missions or being with Sakura, Naruto hounded the Uchiha to come to the gatherings when he had spare time; most of the time he could get out of it but that day in November he wasn't on a mission and Mebuki had taken Sakura to lunch so he had no excuse to miss out... and boy did he wish he had one.

Walking into the shop and seeing his other teammates, minus Sakura, sitting at the table with a giant whiteboard behind it Sasuke got a sinking feeling in his stomach that this was planned out. Just seeing Kakashi there confirmed it, despite being a lazy hokage the man never attended these gatherings, always planning a meeting on these days; so just to have him here Sasuke had wanted to bolt.

"Okay now that we got old grumpy pants here we can start!" Naruto ran around to the whiteboard, which now Sasuke noticed had what looked like a chart on it but with the blond's bad hand writing who really knew, and began to scribble some more down with a black marker.

Sasuke was hesitate to ask but he had to, "Started on what?"

Naruto didn't answer right away instead he moved away from the board to show what he was writing. "Take your bets on what Teme's baby's gender will be!"

Kakashi looked up from the menu he secretly had his icha icha novel shoved into and sighed, "Naruto... gender is spelled with a 'g' not a 'j'."

"Oh... right thanks Kahashi," Naruto quickly erased the word and rewrote it correctly, "Now place your bets!"

"Is it customary to place wages based on the possible outcome of a baby's genitals?"

"Yes!"

"No."

Both Naruto and Sasuke answered Sai's question simultaneously but with different responses; and upon hearing what the other said both men turned to each other with glares.

"Teme don't ruin the fun, you're always a party pooper!"

"I don't want any part in this because it will somehow get back to Sakura and I'll be in trouble," Sasuke turned to leave the noodle shop before anyone they knew personally saw him; just from scanning the room he already spotted a few hospital workers he had seen walking the halls while he visited his girlfriend. He didn't know their names but they knew him so they was no doubt Sakura would hear of this luncheon by tomorrow... maybe he could get one more night of sleeping in his bed before he took up residence on the couch.

"Oh lighten up Sasuke, she won't be mad, heck the girls probably have the same bet going," Naruto grabbed the Uchiha's arm to stop him from leaving, he dragged the other man back to the table and forced him to sit down. If Sasuke was any other person he would have likely pouted like a scolded child and slouched low in the seat in defiance; but he wasn't that type of person so he merely sat there with a glare still etched in his brow while the blond made it back to the other side of the table. "So who wants to start the bidding."

"I bet fifty ryo that it's a boy!" Teuchi, who was in the midst of cooking up the groups order, shouted from this place behind the counter; Sasuke turned in shock that the old man was feeding into these foolishness... it had to do with Naruto being his best customer no doubt otherwise the shop owner wouldn't have said anything.

"Alright old man, way to start us off; come on guys... it's not like this is a hard bet, fifty/fifty one or the other," Naruto turned to the board to scribble down what the man said.

"Papa, I don't know why you bet that... you know it's going to be a girl," Ayame rolled her eyes at her father's antics; she refrained from betting finding this all to be childish... but she did bring her father's money to the table along with their lunches.

"Ayame-san, how are you so sure? Sakura-chan didn't tell you did she?" Naruto was confused as to why the woman seemed so confident in her words, he had hoped his friend wasn't giving away information without telling him. Sasuke too was thinking the same thing, they had agreed to wait and see what the baby was at birth, but had Sakura found out at her last appointment and not told him.

"It's a woman's intuition thing Naruto, I saw Sakura-chan the other day and something just told me she's having a girl," Ayame gave a wink before she left the table to check on the other patrons of the shop.

"I've seen Sakura-chan too and she's been really crabby lately, she only gets that way when dealing with us, so I bet a whole weeks worth of ramen that she's having a boy!" Naruto slammed down a hand made coupon for a weeks worth of ramen on the table causing several of the bowls Ayame just put down to shake.

Once again Kakashi looked up from his 'menu' that he was still reading even though he had a bowl in front of him, "You really want to bet that much on a fifty percent chance that you could possibly lose; and are we talking your size portions daily for a week... that's a lot of money."

The Hokage's words made the blond stop and think, "Oh well... I still think she's having a boy; but I'll spare anyone who thinks it's a girl from buying me all that ramen," Naruto casually slid the coupon from the table, "I'll bet a hundred ryo on a boy."

"I'll match Naruto's wager also for a boy," Yamato, who had been sitting at the table the whole time but not said a word since Sasuke got there, finally spoke up with that serious expression on his face that creeped Naruto out.

"Well despite not having one himself, I am confident in Naruto making the correct decision, I also will place a hundred ryo on the Uchiha's offspring having a penis."

"Sai stop saying I don't have any junk, cause I do!" Naruto would have dove across the table to attack the weirdly blunt artist if Yamato hadn't caught him mid-air.

"Naruto stop or you will get us kicked out... Ayame-san is looking over here."

At the mention of said waitress Naruto tensed up feeling a set of eyes on his back, he quickly calmed down and threw a reassuring smile over his shoulder; Ayame was a sweet woman but if you were rough housing in the shop look out because she had a temper that could match Sakura's.

Sasuke was still sitting in the chair at the other end of the table not believing any of this was really happening, no... the men he would trust with his life were not truly this stupid in real life situations right... right?

"One thousand ryo that our precious Sakura is carrying a girl."

The bickering at the table fell quiet at Kakashi's words, he still didn't look up from his menu as he placed the cash amount on the table. "A thousand Kakashi-sensei, are you sure about that? I should warn you Obaa-san bet it was a girl too and you know she's notorious for being wrong."

The Hokage simply shrugged and Sasuke could make out the markings of a smile from under his mask, "Call it a hunch Naruto."

"Okay well if you say so... the odds right now are two to one on it being a boy but if you want to say it's a girl that's your choice. Sasuke, we're waiting on you, everyone else from the rookie group has bet... how much you in for?"

"Naruto this is stupid, by far the dumbest thing you've ever done and Sakura is going to flip out when she finds out!"

"She won't find out, not unless you tell her, but this poll has been going on for months now... look I even got Gaara-san in; so if she hasn't found out yet she won't. So what is your guess and how much."

"Gaara... you got him in on this!?"

"Yup when he was here a few weeks ago, he was rather surprised you didn't mention Sakura-chan was pregnant when you were last there."

Sasuke was glad that Sakura made them go tell her parents right after Naruto found out because at the rate of his mouth, and this bet, was going all five nations would know of the pregnancy before the baby was born.

"Come on Sasuke you're stalling."

"I'm not participating in this... I already know what the baby will be," Sasuke of course really didn't but practically every baby born into the higher branches of the Uchiha clan were male so he was fairly certain that the child Sakura was caring was a boy.

"You don't know... if Sakura doesn't than you sure as hell don't," Naruto suddenly got a very foxish sly smile on his face, "Are you scared Sasuke?"

"Scared of what you idiot."

"You're scared to make a bet, you're afraid to be wrong and I might beat you again just like that drinking contest!"

"You didn't beat me in that drinking contest, you passed out," though most of the night was a blur after that he did remember Naruto being carried out of the bar by Choji and Neji with an embarrassed Hinata trailing after them.

"Well whatever, you're still scared now... what do you not want to bet against me; you're after you'll lose just admit it Sasuke." Sasuke making a decision on his own had always been hard for him since he always planned every detail including the possible outcomes; Naruto was aware of all this so he knew how to push the Uchiha's buttons. He found he was able to manipulate Sasuke by goading him into making a choice, that's how he got the other man to agree to the drinking contest the night of his wedding and he had a sneaking suspicion that that was also the night this child was created... so in a way the Uchiha should be thanking him.

"I don't need to admit anything Naruto... five thousand ryo it's a boy."

"Sasuke!"

The whole room froze and Naruto quickly tried to cover up the board as the female member, and mother of the child in conversation, of team seven appeared at the opening of the shop. "H-Hello Sakura-chan, I thought your mother was talking you to lunch," Naruto gave a nervous chuckle while trying to disassemble the stand the board was on before she actually read it.

"She did... we decided on ramen since that's what the baby wanted," Sakura's glare hardened the longer she stared at the men at the table; Mebuki slipped passed her daughter and smiled when seeing the boys there completely oblivious to what was going on.

"Oh look what a surprise Sakura, your team is already here... we can all have lunch together!"

"Uh... well actually Mebuki-obasan we were just-."

"Ordering a second round, you ladies are then welcome to join us," Kaskashi smiled politely to the women as he stood to offer Sakura his seat, once she was seated he quickly grabbed two more chairs from another table, it was then Sasuke noticed his book disappeared, as he helped Mebuki into her seat and took the third one himself.

"Oh Hakage-sama that is so generous of you," the other woman was easily smitten by his charms.

"Please Haruno-san, Kakashi is fine, you're daughter is my favorite student after all... we're practically family." Both boy members of the original team seven frowned at their sensei's words but the death glare Sakura was sending both them kept them from opening their mouths.

And speaking of Sakura, the mother-to-be's rage over what was going on at the table hadn't let up yet. "What exactly are you betting five thousand ryo on Sasuke?"

Before the Uchiha could answer, or explain that it was Naruto's fault for goading him into placing the bet, Sai spoke up again. "We are placing money down on what genitals the child you are carrying will have; apparently everyone is very interested to know... just looking at the board we are close to ten thousand ryo."

"What!?"

Several things happened at once after Sai's confession, Mebuki though used to the artist blunt remarks still blushed when hearing what they walk in on. At the same time Sasuke noticed both Kakashi and Yamato mysteriously vanished from the table, and though she was pregnant and Sasuke was one of the fastest shinobi in the world even he didn't see Sakura move around the table. Within a second Sai had a black eye and Naruto, who was still trying to disassemble his precious board, was set through the nearest wall and landed on the street nearly taking out two small carts if said white board hadn't stopped his trajectory.

"Sakura! You shouldn't be attacking people in your condition," her mother's reprimanding went unheard as Sakura made her way out of the restaurant through the Naruto sized hole and walked over to said blond.

It was at this time Sasuke's brain caught up with what was going on around him and he jumped up to go after his raging girlfriend and try to save the idiot from more harm; but he wasn't fast enough to save the stupid board from being destroyed by one of Sakura's super strong punches that turned it to mulch. But that wasn't were her wrath ended, though she was calmer now her boyfriend still needed his punishment which she dished out in the form that he would be sleeping on the couch for the next week; and if Sasuke remembered correctly that was also around the same time that Kakashi's book disappeared too... but needless to say that was the last team meeting without Sakura present.

"It's going to be hard to forget that one Sakura... and I do believe your probation should be up soon," Sasuke looked over to the woman sitting on the bed with skepticism, but she just shrugged her shoulders like his statement didn't effect her which it really didn't since she wasn't missing ramen anyway.

"You were wrong on that bet too by the way... but you should have learned from the first one."

"What do you mean?

"I mean you lost five thousand ryo... we're having a girl," Sakura sat back and waited for this new information to sink in much like when the day she told him she was pregnant.

"A girl... how... how did you find out?" Sasuke was hesitant to believe her since they agreed to wait till the baby was born to find out.

"At the appointment yesterday, Tsunade had put her money on girl and when she was checking the sonogram she shouted that she won the bet so I knew right then it was a girl."

Sasuke leaned back against the headboard allowing the information to process... they were having a girl, the baby that was going to be born in a few days time... was a girl. Already Sasuke's protective side instincts were kicking in, not that he didn't think she wouldn't be able to handle anything, but this was his precious little girl... the beginning of the rebirth of the Uchiha clan and not to mention there was a great chance that she would be around a few boys close to her age. Just the thought of his princess being surrounding by boys, even if they were practically family, put a frown on his face which alarmed Sakura because she didn't know what was going through his mind.

"Sasuke, is everything okay?" She knew he thought the baby would be a boy but she was hoping now that he knew it wasn't it wouldn't stop him from loving her any different. As if sensing her worry Sasuke looked over to Sakura, or more specifically her stomach, at which his frown deepened. Tears came to her eyes and she shielded her belly from his heated gaze wanting to protect her child from his judgement, "Don't you dare Sasuke, it isn't faire to her.. she hasn't done anything wrong!"

Sasuke didn't seem to hear her as he leaned forward again and pulled her into his side, "Hn... it won't happen while I'm breathing," he mumbled into her hair while looking around the room as if the very boys he thought up in his mind were surrounding them.

"What? Sasuke what are you talking about?" Sakura pushed away from his smothering embrace to try and figure out what he meant.

"Hn, she isn't going to be allowed to date until she's thirty." The seriousness of his statement made Sakura burst into laughter, she also realized he wasn't angry that the baby was a girl but rather upset over the possible suitors his daughter may have in the future.

"Sasuke... you know that's not possible right, I mean if she's anything like her mother."

"She won't date until she's thirty," Sasuke repeated more firmly this time with his sharingan active to try and look more intimating.

Sakura was of course not afraid of the infamous Uchiha glare but she did feel bad for any future male born baby and the wrath they would have to face, "Oh Sasuke... you're going to make such a good daddy," she brushed her fingers through his bangs trying to calm him down... maybe it wasn't a good idea to wait the know the baby's gender; if they found out months ago maybe he would have gotten all of this out of his system then.

"Sasuke, let's lay back down and try to rest, "Sakura was getting very tired from her busy morning and she really wanted to take that nap now.

Sasuke, who had been tired from the early morning journey home, was now no longer sleepy due to this bomb Sakura just dropped on him; but just seeing how her eyes were barely staying open he knew she needed sleep. He laid back down and welcomed her into his arms which she dove into and made herself comfortable on his chest allowing his heart beat to lull her to sleep.

"So... a girl." Sasuke still couldn't wrap his head around the fact that he was going to have a daughter... and the fact that he lost another bet, he really needed to stop doing that; only bright side other than getting a daughter was that Naruto was wrong too.

"Mmmhhmmm..." Sakura mumbled, she was so close to sleep that she refused to completely open her eyes and acknowledge his question.

"Should we change the color of the nursery?"

"Sasuke... it's yellow, a neutral baby color, she won't know the difference and when she's a little older we'll repaint it okay."

"What about clothes... won't she need something pink?"

"She's going to be a newborn and until we teach her what colors mean she won't know... plus there's the off chance she might have pink hair so we don't want to drown her in it... you need to relax."

Sasuke tightened his grip around her waist allowing his hand to brush against the side of her stomach, "Hn... I just don't want her to be upset when she's older... thinking we didn't care enough."

Hearing the sadness and slight guilt in his voice caused Sakura to lift her head from his chest, "Sasuke, there is no possible way this baby could ever think she wasn't cared enough for, heck the first nine months of her life she's going to be soiled rotten by all our friends; not to mention a grandmother and two uncles who are hokage... no one is ever going to say no to her," Sakura had hoped this information would ease his worries but right away she could see the twinge of pain flash across his face when she mentioned relatives.

That topic was the hardest for Sasuke to handle throughout the whole pregnancy, knowing his child would only have one set of grandparents, that she wouldn't have anyone from his family there. It hurt him to know that his mother would have loved a grandchild, especially a granddaughter since she was the only woman in their family; had his mother been alive today Sasuke knew she would be fussing around Sakura just as badly as Mebuki did. And he couldn't help but think even thought what his brother was forced to do to the clan Itachi would have been a great uncle.

"Sasuke," Sakura wanted to be very careful with her wording as to not upset him knowing his family would always be a sore subject for him, "There's no doubt in my mind that your family would have been great with this baby. And when she's older, if you want, you can tell her what happened and we can visit them... I think she would like that."

Once again the Uchiha was amazed by this woman's big heart, that she was willing to accept anyone, flaws and all, into her life and treat them with such respect; it was far more than he could that was why he knew his child would escape his family's curse of hatred with a mother like her. "Thank you," a small smile came to his face as his grief started to fade away again. Sakura, seeing his face relax, knew everything was okay now and so she laid her head back onto his chest.

The two just laid there and basked in the new knowledge they received and almost as if she sensed her parents happiness the baby began to move around in Sakura's belly kicking her mother and intern hitting Sasuke's side lightly; he stuck his hand between their bodies to feel the soft yet powerful kicks. Sasuke still couldn't believe his life had turned out this way, if someone were to tell him seven years ago when he was hell bent on avenging his clan that he would be here about to welcome the rebirth of the Uchiha clan into the world with his once annoying pink haired teammate now turned love of his life and the key to his happiness, he would bet his life that would never happen. And just like the others he would lose that bet too but not be sour about it because what he gained was far greater than losing his pride.

Sakura had just fallen into a light slumber and Sasuke was just about there too when both were suddenly jostled awake by a high pitched, and very familiar, shout of excitement that seemed to carry across the village roof tops.

"I'M GOING TO BE A WHAT!?"

"Well... I guess Hinata finally told him," Sakura released an annoyed sigh from being woken up for a second time today by Naruto.

"Hn."

"So how long do you think it will take him to get here and tell us?"

"I don't want to make that bet," Sasuke put his hand over his eyes as he could feel the headache coming on getting bigger with every second he could sense Naruto's chakra getting closer to their apartment.

"Why not?"

"Because out of all the bets I've made I don't want to be right on this one." Sasuke's sentence was punctuated loudly by the banging on the front door caused by the blond they were talking about.

"Hey Sakura-chan... Teme, stop having sex for a minute and open the door, I've got great news... I'm going to be a daddy!"

"Would it be a safe bet to say he might not live long enough to see his child Sasuke?"

"Hn... now that's a bet I'll take."

Okay guys this is it. The epilogue to Bet Wrong. There will be nothing else written after this. The story kind of got off track a little, I was planning on focusing on Sasuke betting wrong again on the baby's gender as the main focus but it kind of got out of control with everything that happened before Sasuke got back to the apartment... but hopefully everyone likes it anyway. And no I will not be writing anything for Naruto/Hinata... I'm glad they got together but I'm a total supporter of Sasuke/Sakura and only write for them. Plus Naruto got a movie for his love life and Sasuke/Sakura didn't which annoyed me so I decided to add a little more to my story here. But don't worry I will be writing other stories for Sasuke/Sakura in the future.

So this is it for Bet Wrong and I hope everyone is happy!

Later for now!
