Sometimes the nations don't know what to do with themselves. Everybody puts way too much emphasis on it, but the night affects them in ways beyond what we know. It can bring the strongest to their knees and give them greater fear than they've ever had before. Sometimes they relive their pasts. Other times the are afraid the future.

Some are afraid of who they are.

Sometimes Lithuania wakes up at night from panic attacks if he gets too cold and refuses to go out in the snow.

Norway lies awake for hours wondering if he was even a brother to Iceland. Making him call him brother made him feel better about it, but now that he is alone, there's nothing he can say to take away his fears.

Sweden wakes up at three am and goes to an abandoned field and screams, for he fears there will come a day when either no one will understand him, or he won't be able to speak at all.

Every night he spends alone, all France can think is that no one loves him. Bringing women home deceives him.

Westerners have broken him. China clutches his stuffed kitty as he arches his back, remembering the pain of being divided.

When the house is silent Russia listens to a song over and over again by Three Days Grace called The Animal I've Become, and reflects on how applicable it is to him.

If he gets too down America will watch superhero movies. In the end though, they just make him sadder as he ends up comparing himself to the superheroes. And on his list, he has fallen short.

Italy wonders sometimes if he should try to be stronger. Maybe then he'd have some respect.

What if he could say what he really means? What if Japan could for once get his true two cents in? It would be so freeing to speak his mind.

Austria plays music only because it's something he's good at. Its the only thing that people really notice about him; they refuse to notice that underneath the stiffness, there's a person underneath.

The word awesome is a lie Prussia tells himself as he lies awake in bed. It just a cover so he can push down the guilt he feels inside.

Sometimes England tells himself it's because he's lived so much is why he has so many enemies. But the words never reach his heart.

Every sound at night, even during the day, makes Switzerland jump for his gun. He's had to survive too much to not have an automatic reach for his gun

It goes without saying that he regrets Hitler and the Holocaust, but if he's completely honest, Germany also regrets not being able to live enough. He wishes he could break the mold of perfection he has around him and make mistakes.

Canada just doesn't care anymore if he's noticed. He just wants you to notice that other's are hurting.

Which is why he gave this to me.

A/N: Ok, now that I've completely messed around with your mind, I'm gonna talk.

I get it, this is crap. I'm depressed right now, but within 10 minutes it will get better, and I love how messed up my life is, but it really isn't and life sucks, but I still don't have it to bad, I'm starting to feel better now, why can't i cry anymore?

life sucks.

there is no moral to this story. If there is one, when you are depressed, you write angsty crap.

and if you go to school with me, please don't freak out, I'm fine.
