This girl is amazing.

Because first of all, her lightning-fast(or as Finn put it) acrobatic reflexes dodged nearly all of his attacks. Not to mention she had the most unique fighting style he's ever seen. She attacked as swift and fierce as him, and if Finn didn't knew better he would say that the two of them were in par. But he won't go down without a fight of course. Even if they were actually matched(Finn would never accept that in the first place. And judging from the look on her face, she won't either).

Now back on the matter at hand...

Their pink and crimson red oak swords clashed with great force and after a few seconds of struggling the two leapt back simultaneously, their breaths ragged.

"You're good." Finn commented as he smirked, he would be lying if he said she wasn't.

"Thanks, you too."

In another swift flash, their swords clashed once more.

(Let's get this party started!)

"Hey Princess Bubblegum!"

Said girl with pink hair turned around at the call of her name, and offered a smile as greeting towards the short blonde that was running towards her, "What is it Jake? And didn't I already told you I don't like being called Princess? Bubblegum is just fine."

The short and slightly chubby blonde took a few seconds to regain his breath, "I came here..." Inhale, exhale, "To tell you that..." Another inhale, another exhale, "Finn can't hang out with you..." Jake wiped away the sweat on his forehead after searching for the pink-haired girl around the school for thirty minutes. Now, don't be mistaken, Jake is quite an athlete, but who wouldn't get tired after running around the (extremely)large school. "Man that was a long run..."

Bubblegum sadly frowned, but immediately covered it with a smile, but it was still sad, "Oh, uh... okay. Why?" She asked, wondering what kept Finn occupied even though it was just their first day at school once more.

"Uhh..." The short blonde hesitated to reply, "...he's busy? Uh, yeah, that's right! He's busy handling the club!"

"Jake, it's only the first day of class."

'Crap.' "Ummm... uhhh... ehhh..." The short blonde inwardly struggled with his brain to try and think of a reply. Sadly, his brain was currently empty of any rep-lies that could smoothly go unnoticed. And since that wasn't working, there was only one option left for Jake...

"LATER BUBBLEGUM!" With that, Jake dashed away, leaving dust in his wake that made Bubblegum cough for a short moment.

"Jake, wa-" But the said blonde was already gone, "He's so fast I wonder why he won't join the track team or the football team..."

Bubblegum shook her head, Jake joining speed-related clubs wasn't the matter right now. It was the fact he suddenly ran away without giving her an answer, and she won't just shrug this off like a fly was on her shoulders. Nope. She is going to find out why. Her curiosity was demanding to be given an answer, and she is gonna get it alright.

"Princess Bubblegum! There you are!" At the sound of her name being called again, she turned around once more and saw a short, red-haired girl running towards her with incredible speed.

Bubblegum smiled at the girl, "Hello Penny."

Penny is a short and young girl that is just a grade below Bubblegum and the others. She had red hair, a round face, and was known around the school for being fast and cunning, which is a deadly combination. Not only was she cunning, but mischievous and tricky as well. If Bubblegum remembered, she once used her innocent looks on Finn and Jake in getting back her stolen flower basket from a small gang in their school last year. But eventually, it turned out that her flower basket didn't just contain flowers, but a large number of jewelry and items she stole from other students as well. After that, Finn and Jake rarely saw her around school since she kept on avoiding the two. But eventually, Penny was once caught by Finn and Jake after a hard time of pursuing her, and in supposed punishment, they were going to confiscate all the items she stole and report her for her actions. But the leader of the track team, whose belongings were also stolen by Penny, was impressed by her skills and speed and suggested that she should join the track team. So Finn and Jake made her join the track team as her punishment instead.

"Where have you been? I was looking for you everywhere!" The young girl exclaimed as she stopped in front of Bubblegum, "Come on! The others sent me here to get you to practice your presidential speech!" She lightly grabbed the pink-haired girl's wrist and began pulling her the opposite direction where Jake went.

Bubblegum laughed shortly as she was being pulled, "Penny, you know I'm not the president. Also, I-"

"Not president yet!" The young girl intervened turning to look at her, "Besides Princess Bubblegum, you've been Student Council President for three years straight, and you're the best we've ever had! So we want you to keep that title. Also, Principal Cosmic said the elections were starting tomorrow."

"Tomorrow? A week hasn't passed yet and she starts the elections already? Weird." True enough, it was. Last year, a week has only passed and their Principal suddenly announced the start of the elections for the members of the Student Council. And now, it was happening tomorrow after their first day of class? What? Is she going to start the election at their first day of school next year too?

"I know right," Penny rolled her eyes at their Principal's antics, "Now come on, let's go! The others are waiting for you!" She began pulling Bubblegum again and the said girl could only sigh as she allowed herself to get pulled.

Answer from Jake later. Student council for now.

(Princess Bubblegum awaaaay!)

After an intense hour of dueling and nearly landing blows on each other, both were sweating bullets and panting with exhaustion. It was Finn who ended it, after seeing Fionna in her exhausted state, he lowered his sword and looked out the club, taking notice on how the moon rose in the sky, "Oh man, what time is it?"

Fionna who was wearing a wrist watch, took a short look, "Uh, 6:45." She answered, lowering her sword and then looking out.

The blonde boy grinned at her, "Why don't we call it a draw for now?" He suggested.

"Alright," She smiled back instead, "But I will defeat you though." Her smile morphed into a confident smirk, much to Finn's amusement and interest for the girl.

"Not if I defeat you first." He confidently said back, smirking as well, much to her own amusement and own interest towards him.

And for a moment, the two stood there staring and smirking at each other, before they bursted into a fit of chuckles/giggles at their heated staring competition.

"Come on. Let's go." Smiling, Finn rested his crimson red oak sword on his shoulder, Fionna doing the same with her own pink oak sword, as they walked out of the clubhouse, Finn closing the door on his way out. "So, where's your dorm?" The blonde boy asked the moment they stepped out.

"Uh, I think it's on the building on the left, on the second or third floor I think. Me and Cake haven't really found out it yet." Fionna explained as she slightly fiddled with the sword on her shoulder.

"Oh, okay. Why don't I help you find it then?"

"W-what? No! It's alright, I don't want to bother you any-" She was cut off when Finn chuckled.

"It's alright, really. Me and Jake's dorm is located right there too." He told her, smiling slightly.

"Uh, sure. Thanks..."

Eventually, the walk to the building that held their dorms were rather silent and awkward. Which is odd since a few moments ago they were just normally talking to each other while battling.

As you all know, Finn wasn't the type to be quiet, so he decided to strike up a conversation; "So, uhh..." Fionna turned to look at him curiously as they walked, "How'd you discover kendo? And how are you so good at it?"

"Well..." Fionna began as she looked up at the night sky deep in thought, "My dad pretty much taught me kendo. He taught it was a good idea since I liked- no - I, loved swords when I first watched this awesome samurai movie when I was four." She explained with a smile on her face, remembering all those memories and all her toy swords her parents bought for her. Which was probably past a hundred.

"Oh yeah?" Finn said as a smile also came on his face.

"Yup. I had like, a lot of toy swords back then."

"Define 'a lot'."

"A large number."

"Oh haha."

Both of them laughed at Fionna's bad joke.

"No, seriously. How many did you had?" Finn asked.

"Hm, probably past a hundred." Fionna answered, suddenly remembering all of the toy swords she did have. Each and every single one she(somehow) still remembers.

"Heh, I had hundreds of 'em."

"Really now?"

"Yup, I had so many it filled the entire basement."

The two of them laughed once more, obviously enjoying each other's company. In fact, they were enjoying it too much it took a second for them to realize they arrived at the building, "Oh we're here." Finn said, pressing a button to call down the elevator. The doors automatically opened and both of them stepped inside.

"So what floor is your dorm on again?" Finn asked, ready to press one of the buttons with a raised finger.

"Uh, the second or third."

Finn pressed the button to the third floor.

"Uh, don't you think you should have pressed the button to the second floor so we can search there first?" The blonde girl asked as she curiously raised a brow at the blonde boy.

"I don't know." Finn shrugged, "I just have a hunch your dorm is there."

Surprisingly, Finn's so-called 'hunch' was right, since the moment they stepped outside, Fionna saw Cake leaning against one of the doors of the dorms, tapping her foot impatiently and constantly looking at her wrist watch.

"Cake!" Without a moment to spare, the blonde girl ran towards her best friend.

"Fionna!" The short girl pushed herself off the door and stood straight, "Look! I finally found out dorm! Ugh, girl, you won't believe how long I- Oh hello!" The coffee-colored-haired girl exclaimed once her eyes landed on Finn, who was slowly approaching the two girls. "Girl, you work fast!" She whispered to Fionna, who blushed and shook her head immediately.

"It's not like that! He only took me here since this is also the same building his dorm is at!" The blonde girl whispered back, glancing at Finn.

"Ohhh... have you told him he's hawt yet?" Cake asked excitedly, almost seeming as if she was bouncing. Fionna always found it funny how her best friend pronounced the word 'hot'.

"Cake!" Fionna whispered-exclaimed, gritting her teeth in annoyance as her blush seem to intensify.

"Uh, girls?"

Both girls' heads instantly snapped towards Finn, who was watching their interaction with a curious and confused expression.

It was Cake who bounced and immediately dashed towards Finn with an overly excited smile, "Hey there, I'm Cake!" The short girl properly introduced herself.

"Nice to meet you, I'm Finn, leader and founder of the kendo club." Said blonde boy smiled at the short girl in greeting. "So you're the one Fionna keeps on mentioning, huh?"

"Yup, that's me!" Cake seemed to look proud at the other's statement, "So, are you two dat-"

Fionna had pulled her best friend back and covered her mouth using her hand with lightning-fast speed. "Oh don't mind her Finn, she gets mental at some times!" The blonde girl forced a laugh as Finn raised a brow in confusion once more.

"Okay...? Oh, by the way, me and Jake's dorm is at the fifth floor, why don't you, uh, visit us sometimes...maybe..." Finn said, a light color of pink suddenly shading his cheeks at the words he said, which he now deemed embarrassing.

"Alright..." Fionna nodded slowly, a light color of pink on her cheeks as well at the thought. She could feel Cake smirk as the short girl watched their interaction towards each other, which is awkward in her observation.

"I'll be seeing you guys around then." With that, Finn waved and smiled at them one last time before walking off towards the elevator.

Fionna sighed in relief once the kendo leader was a further distance away, she took off her hand covering Cake's mouth.

"Well, that was interesting..." The short girl commented, crossing her arms with a sly smirk. But the blonde girl was too tired by today's events she didn't have the physical and mental energy to bicker with her best friend for now.

"Just give me the keys!"

(I'm sure when he said, "Go out," he meant, "Go out," not, "GO OUT.")

Once the elevator doors opened, Finn was greeted with a friendly face. "Hey Gum-dude." He greeted, stepping inside the elevator.

"Why hello, Finn. Tell me, what are you doing at this floor when your dorm is located at the very top floor?" The pink-haired boy asked.

"Oh, uh, you know. Just wandering around..." Finn lied, looking around the elevator for anything interesting to lock his eyes upon besides his friend standing beside him as the doors closed and the elevator began its ascend to the upper floor.

A thing you should know about 'Prince Gumball' for now, is that his criticizing and observing skills rivals a sommelier's own. So to say, similar to your mother, he can very well detect if you're lying or not with his incredibly keen eyes. Not a single person has managed to get away from him, not even Marceline. Unfortunately. "Oh Finn, you liar." Gumball playfully smiled as he stated, "Now, tell me the real reason why you were at the third floor?"

"I told you, I was just wandering around!" Finn tried convincing the other, but alas, it was futile.

"You're lying again, Finn. You're usually so honest, is the matter really that major?" Gumball said, turning to directly face the blonde, his smile disappearing as he crossed his arms with a very stern and demanding expression that wanted answers. Right now.

'It feels like I'm being interrogated here...' "Well, no...not really, but I really am telling the truth! I was just wandering around!" Finn exclaimed, practically waving his arms desperately. Glob, now it felt like he was talking to his mom all over again. Besides, he only needed to stall the pink-haired boy for a few more seconds until the elevator opened.

"Liar." All of a sudden, Gumball pressed the 'STOP' button at the very bottom of the button panel and the elevator doors, that were about to open to the fourth floor, closed. And just to make sure, he even stepped up and blocked the blonde from the button panel. Sometimes, Finn found it hard to believe that someone so kind yet eccentric like Gumball was this curious and demanding when it came to questions and answers.

When the blonde boy was speechless for a minute, Gumball sighed. "Finn, how long have we been best friends?"

"Uh, a year and a half."

"Then you very well know me, and I very well know you. And because of that, you already know I don't stop until I get an answer. So I highly suggest that you might as well tell me now or we could be stuck here until the next sunrise. I don't care, I'm patient and I can wait a whole day." Gumball stated with a shrug. And Finn sighed hopelessly.

"Alright, alright... I was with Fionna. There! I said it!" Finn exclaimed, a light blush coming onto his cheeks. There was a split second of surprise on Gumball's face before he smiled.

"See, that was not so difficult to admit." Gumball stated, uncrossing his arms. "It was just a minor topic anyway, Finn. Why did you even hesitate in telling me?"

'Hanging out with a girl is minor to you!?' "Well, it's kinda a little embarrassing, you know...?" The blonde replied, scratching the back of his head.

The pink-haired boy laughed, ruffling the blonde's hair like an elder brother would to his younger brother, "In my opinion, a minor topic like this is not exactly embarrassing. But then again, if the others were here you may as well deem it embarrassing." Gumball laughed once more, and Finn forced his own laughter. He and the others didn't want to admit it but Gumball has a very dry sense of humor. The chances it has of actually humoring someone would be extremely low. Below the paparazzi as a metaphor.

"Uh, Gumball? Mind opening the elevator now?"

"Oh, right. Apologies, Finn." Gumball turned around and pressed the 'STOP' button once more, and this time, the doors opened and Gumball stepped out of the elevator. "See you tomorrow, Finn. And I expect you to be early."

"Can't keep promises, Gum-dude!" Finn answered, earning a chuckle from the other as the elevator doors closed and ascended to the fifth floor. Seriously, it really does feel like he was talking to his mother whenever it came to Gumball. Then again the pink-haired boy is like the eccentric, smart and punctual brother figure to Finn, and he was a hundred percent sure that was how Jake and the others viewed him as well.

Finn immediately made haste towards his and Jake's dorm once the doors opened. He felt extremely exhausted, physically and mentally, but more than Fionna if possible. In fact, he was such in a rush he barely acknowledged Marshall who greeted him while drinking a soda.

The moment he got inside and into the bedroom, he jumped towards his bed, not even bothering to take a bath or change to his pyjamas. He glanced at the digital clock on the night stand, '9:14 huh? Looks like time really flies by when you're having fun... Not.'

"Geez man, what took you so long to get back?" Jake asked, coming out of the bathroom with a towel wrapped around his waist.

Finn replied with a tired groan, his face buried into the pillows.

"Oh, by the way, I told Bubblegum you can't go with her. She looked really disappointed, man." Jake said, now putting on some clothes, "Ugh, she's probably gonna hunt me down for some answers tomorrow." And now Finn didn't give a shit to what his best friend was saying. "Gonna have to avoid her the entire day, you know how she is, man. Always wanting to get her answers, like Gumball."

Finn nodded absentmindedly, solemnly and slowly. He was too exhausted to open his mouth and speak.

"Dude, aren't you even gonna change clothes?" Jake asked as he plopped down on his own bed.

Finn was not replying, there was only the sound of his light snoring.

"Man, you must really be tired, huh?" Jake stated, "Oh well, night Finn." With that, Jake turned off the lights.
