AN: Well, I was browsing the internet for a good, short Scorose fic because, really, you get extremely bored with the supremely long ones. So if you've read a few, can you please send me the link of a few via review or PM?

"Mum, when did you come to know Dad fancied you?"

Whatever Hermione had expected, it wasn't that question. She looked back at her Rosie, just back from her 3rd year at Hogwarts. She took a while, while choosing the answer very carefully.
"Well, I know I started fancying him a bit in 3rd year. As for him, well, I don't know, do I? Though, I suppose in fifth year. He only noticed and acknowledged I'm a girl in fourth year," said Hermione, then added with a cheeky smile, "Why, someone caught your eye?"
Rosie blushed a pretty rose color, Hermione could hardly tell her hairline from her face. She covered her face trying to look away and hastily changed the subject. "How can he not notice you're a girl?"
Hermione had a feeling Rose was asking more because of her own insecurities than mere curiosity.
"I don't know. Girls like us usually get ourselves overlooked, but," she added with what she hoped was a warm smile, "If he really cares, he would notice. Who knows, maybe he already has. He would be asinine about it, that's for sure."
Rose snorted. "Wouldn't notice. He's more asinine than the whole school student's combined."
Hermione chuckled. It was like reliving her own experience.

"What's he like?"
Rose thought about it for sometime. "He's very kind when he wants to be, unforgivably rude when he doesn't, he's cute, he's funny, though most of the times, I'm the bottom of his jokes. He stands up for me against somebody, yet calls me he same thing himself. He's...infuriating. Confusing. I wish he were a bit like Dad, I bet he asked you out immediately."
Hermione laughed at this, Ron and ask her out immediately?

"Never."

"We're not so different- you and I. Especially when it comes to boys," said Hermione as she rolled her eyes.
"But Dad's so easy, Mum. This is Scorpius we're talking about here!" Rose said, unaware of what she was saying until the words had flown out of her mouth in her desperate attempt to make her Mum understand.
"Scorpius as in Scorpius Malfoy?" Hermione asked, trying to adjust her face into a nonchalant expression, silently hoping there were many Scorpius' in Rosie's grade for Ron's sake. Though with the ridiculous name, the possibility seemed highly unlikely.
The famous Weasley blush spread accross Rose's face again.

"Please don't tell Dad."
