Hey everyone! Sorry for not updating any stories in awhile x.x but here's a nice, long chapter, shiny and new, just for all my lovely readers! So, if you have any ideas for any of my stories, please tell me, and I hope you like this chap!

Jack walked through the halls. He'd been deemed fit to move and train, though the training wasn't coming in until later in the day. For now, he was simply becoming reaccustomed to moving around.

Jack yelped when Matt and Luke swooped down on him.

"Hey Jack!" They both greeted. Jack laughed.

"Hi guys. What's up?"

"Ah, nothing." Matt said, pouting.

"Which is the problem!" Luke clarrified.

Jack smiled, chuckling.

"If you think I can help you with that, then you were wrong."

"Nah. We just wanted to see how you were doing." Matt replied.

"Just to give us something to do." Luke supplied.

Jack nodded, giving a hum of understanding.

"Well, thanks for coming to see how I am. I appreciate the thought."

"Don't mention it!" Both twins laughed out.

"Jay! Jaaaaaayyyyy!"

Jack 'oomphed' when he was tackled by a blur of red hair and found himself with an armful of an excited six year old.

"O-ow! T-Tori! Be careful!" He chided, regaining his breath.

"Sorry! You gonna train with us today, Jay? Huh? Huh?"

Jack smiled, laughing as he picked up the girl.

"Yes, I am. We gotta figure out what I can do now."

"Yay!" The small girl squeeled, hugging Jack happily.

Jack winced as his still sensitive chest protested, but hid the pain behind a smile.

"Why don't you go and decide where we should sit for lunch?"

"Okay, Jack!" Tori replied happily, squirming down and taking off.

"Where does she get all that energy?" Jack sighed out before chuckling.

The twins laughed too.

"She's almost as fast as me!" Matt joked.

Jack looked confused, then remembered. That was right. Matt's cybernetics gave him speed. He then laughed, understanding the joke.

They chatted as they went down hall after hall, until they finally reached the dinningroom/kitchen.

The others were already there, and Tori was fending off any who tried to sit beside her on her right. Chuckling, Jack piled food on a plate, sitting down beside her.

"Thank you for saving me a seat, Tori." He thanked the little femme.

Tori giggled happily.

"You're welcome, Jay-Jay!"

They all began to eat, chating happily.

Jack froze when he suddenly felt something weird. A stir of warmth, almost something like emotion, but it wasn't an emotion of his. He looked down at where his cybernetic hid under his shirt. Was it...?

He shook his head. No, that was silly. He returned to eating.

Later

Jack followed the others into the large training room. With no simulation mission in progress, the room looked just that much larger. Jack couldn't help but feel intimidated.

Allen patted his shoulder.

"Relax, kid."

Jack gave a thankful smile, while the others looked at Allen in confusion and surprise. That was not the normal, gruff Allen they knew.

"Alright," Liam spoke up. "How about one of you demonstrates your abilities."

Tori raise a hand, jumping up and down.

"Ooo! I will! Let me! Let me!"

Liam chuckled.

"Alright, Tori. Go on."

The little girl giggled hapily, moving to the center of the room. A few minutes later and Allen brought in a heavy metal tub of water. He set it down with a thud.

Tori took a deep breath, closing her eyes and holding her hands palm out.

Ivy like tendrils of water raised from the tub, twisting and curling in many directions.

They twined together to form a large sphere that rippled and slowly spun, bubbles floating within it.

"Woah..." Jack breathed out, awed.

Tori was so young and small...to think...to think that the cybernetics made her so strong and powerful! It was amazing!

He blinked in surprise when he felt...felt something twist within himself. He looked down in confusion at where his implants hid beneath his shirt.

He felt like something was wrong...

"Jack? Are you okay?" Blaine asked in concern, touching his shoulder.

The raven teen looked up in surprise.

"Huh? Oh, no. Nothing's wrong."

Blaine looked unconvinced.

"Look, I promise, I'm fine."

The woman sighed, and their attention returned to Tori, who now played with the water happily.

"It's...it's amazing how powerful the cybernetics make a person. It's just so...wow."

Liam chuckled.

"Yes, it does tend to be a rather stunning sight to behold."

Everyone jumped when the lights flickered for a moment.

"Hm. I should have one of the scientists check the power suply." Liam muttered to himself.

They all flinched when there was a boom of thunder. Tori tore off, running to Jack and jumping at him, clinging to him. Jack held her, murmuring comforting words to the little one.

"Perhaps we will try and find your abilities later. Storms always unnerve Tori so it's best to leave any training until later so there will be no accident with her abilities."

Jack nodded in understanding.

"That sounds fine to me. I'm in no rush." He replied, letting the shivering Tori bury her head in his shirt. "Why don't we all go get dinner ready? I know the perfect food for storms. And we can watch a movie maybe." He suggested.

"That sounds great." Seth said, suporting the idea.

Liam chuckled.

"Yes, that sounds very nice Jack. Perhaps it will allow time for you and the team to bond as well. I'm going to visit the science division and ask what happened to the power a few minutes ago."

Everyone gave their own forms of understaning, leaving the trainingroom.

Liam looked at the shut door, then worriedly at the lights. He really hoped that it was just the thunderstorm...

Later

Jack had been in awe at the huge couchs they had in the entertainment room. And the tv! It was gigantic!

The others all settled down, plates of pizza in hand. Jack though couldn't decide where to sit.

Allen rolled his eyes, scooting over and pulling Jack down between him and Tori.

"We can't see the movie around your big head." He said gruffly when Jack looked at him questioningly.

Jack huffed, muttering 'my head is not big' as Adam started the movie.

A few movies and several hours later, the storm was continuing outside while the twins, Seth, and Tori were all out like lights.

Jack had a continuing sense of dread that came from his chest. Something was wrong, something was very wrong. But there couldn't be, could there?

He and the three others that were still awake jumped when the power suddenly went out, the room going black. Soon, dim blue lights came on, slightly illuminating the room.

"What's going on?" Jack asked, confused and worried.

"The emergency power just went on. Either the storm knocked the power out...or something's going on." Blaine said, brow furrowing. "And I believe it's the second."

"Why?" Jack questioned.

"It's extremely hard for a storm to knock out the power. Almost impossible."

Allen grimaced, clarrifying for Jack.

"Because the supply comes from under ground."

Adam frowned, going into 'leader mode' as the others called it.

"Allen, wake the twins and Seth up. Blaine and I will scout ahead. Jack, get Tori somewhere safe."

Jack carefully gathered the little femme in his arms, taking off to find a place to hide.

"Hey Jack."

The teen paused, looking back at Allen. He quickly caught something thrown at him. He looked at his hand and found it to be a small device.

"It's a comlink. you run into trouble, you call one of us, got it, kid?" Allen said, voice firm.

Jack hesitated, then carefully put it in his ear with a nod.

"Got it."

Allen, satisfied with the answer, waved the teen off. Jack bolted out of the room.

Later

Tori shook as Jack held her close.

"I'm scared, Jack." She whimpered, fingers curling in his shirt.

Jack nodded.

"Yeah Tori, I know. I'm scared too. But the others will keep us safe, alright? I promise, nothing's going to hurt you. And hey, would I ever break a promise?"

Tori gave a small smile, shaking her head with a slightly sobbed giggle.

They both flinched in surprise when they heard fighting from far off. So Blaine had been right. It wasn't the storm that knocked out the power.

Tori shrunk closer to Jack, whimpering. The raven teen grimaced, gently carding a hand through the litte girl's hair, murmuring soft reassurances to her.

Soon the sound of fighting faded. It had moved farther away.

"See?" Jack murmured. "They aren't close anymore."

Tori slowly smiled, but it died when the door knob to the room was suddenly jiggled as someone tried to enter.

"Hide!" Jack hissed, pushing Tori towards large vent that was low to the ground.

The little one did as told, fear on her face as she managed to crawl in, replacing the grate just as the lock was shot off by a gun, and the basement door opened with a creak.

Several men garbed in black came in, guns lifted to point at Jack.

The raven teen stood still, not daring to move.

"He doesn't look like the little kid. Did they get another freak?" One man asked another, the seeming leader of the group.

"Shut up. We're supposed to bring them all. We can't fail like the others did, we can at least bring one of them." He then looked at Jack. "Alright kid, just take it nice and slow. We won't hurt you if you just come with us calmly."

"Who are you people?" Jack asked, voice strong and falsely confident.

The men chuckled.

"Just some people who work for someone who's very interested in this project. Now c'mon, move it."

"No." Jack replied, shuffling back.

"C'mon kid, we don't want to hurt you." The leader growled, moving closer along with the other men.

Jack shuffled back, only to bump into a wall. Dread settled in the pit of his stomach.

He was cornered.

Jack gulped as the men moved closer.

"L-leave me alone..."

They only came nearer.

"Leave me alone..!"

They were now only a few feet away.

"LEAVE ME ALONE!"

The door opened and Liam along with the others of the CJ team burst in...

Just as light exploded.

The soldiers screamed in pain as electricity of a bright blue exploded from the lights and old science machinery that was stored in the room. Much of the electricity went to Jack, coursing over him, though without any pain to him. He seemed to instead absorb it without any harm to his being. Wires shot out from the machines, binding the source of the teens fear. Lights flickered madly, smoke detectors and emergency alarms went wild.

Soon it all stopped, the lights now worked and lit the room, and the once broken machinery ran like new.

The enemy soldiers, bound in wires, fell with multiple thuds and groans of pain.

Jack swayed where he stood. He felt so tired...

Allen and Blaine ran forward, quickly catching Jack as he passed out.

Then the team all stared at each other for a few long moments. Finally, Seth said what they all were thinking.

"Wow."

Later

Jack groaned softly as he awoke. He blinked slowly, then looked around.

He recognized it to be the medical wing of the mansion. A machine monitored his heart rate, and an I.V was in his arm.

What had happened? Why was he in here? It took him a few moments before he remembered.

He'd been really scared...he didn't want the men to get him or Tori...then he'd felt a sudden rush and electricity shocked him and the men. Jack had felt like he'd just eaten a three course meal after that, but also extremely tired, and he'd passed out.

He groaned. He hoped he wouldn't have to go through that again for a long time.

He heard talking outside the door, and strained his ears to listen.

"That was amazing." He head one of the twins say. "He's got so much power!"

"But it also drained him a lot." Blaine cut in. "He could've hurt, maybe even killed himself! One of us should've gone to help him sooner."

"There is no reason too blame ourselves or anyone, Blaine. Blame those vile soldiers." Liam said soothingly.

"When do you think he'll come to?" Seth asked.

"I've already come to..!" Jack croaked out, wincing. His throat felt like sand paper.

There was a beat of silence, then the door was slammed open, a flood of people coming in.

"Jay!" Tori cried, grabbing his arm and hugging it tightly.

Jack managed a weary smile.

"H-hey Tori."

He then looked at Allen.

"S-sorry for breaking the comlink." He said, grimacing.

Allen snorted incredulously.

"You think we care about that?! The scientists make them all the time, they always break on missions! What they can't make is another person who can have cybernetics!"

Jack managed a chuckle, then coughed.

Adam offered a cup of water from the pitcher on the bedside table.

"Here, drink."

"Th-thanks." Jack said, smiling gratefully as he took the cup and downed its contents.

"So...What happened?" Jack asked. "How did I do...y'know, what I did?"

Everyone settled down, and Liam pulled up a chair.

"Do you not remember? Usually one remembers the first time they called for aid from their implants."

"I...I didn't call anyone for help. I remember being scared. I didn't want them getting me or Tori. Next thing I knew I felt like I ate a whole buffet out of business and then passing out."

Allen looked confused.

"Wait, you felt like you what?"

Jack laughed as Liam hummed.

"We did see you absorb quite a bit of electricity. That could be why. Your cybernetic must've converted the electricity into energy your body could use."

Jack's brow furrowed.

"Huh?"

Liam chuckled.

"You can basically feed off electricity. Like food, it gives you energy. We'll have to test it, but you might even be able to store it, then release it as electricity again. A portable electric source."

Jack grimaced.

"So I eat electricity. That's not odd at all." He said sarcastically.

"Hey, you signed up for this. That comes with a lot of crazy." Matt said. Jack grinned, laughing.

"Yeah. I guess."

Liam stood.

"The doctors want you to rest for the next twenty-four hours, so we'll leave you be."

"Aw man! More laying around?" Jack groaned. Hadn't he done that for the last few days of recovery from his implants?

More rest. What fun.
