Fullmetal Leo

"What the . . . Leo, what did you do?!"

Leo smirked and waved to his friends. His brand new cybernetic arm made a nice mechanical humming sound as each joint moved. "Oh, hey! Sup, guys?"

The looks on Jason's and Piper's faces were priceless as they took in not only Leo and the robotic arm that he'd replaced his real arm with, but also his work station which honestly probably looked like something straight out of a horror movie, if he thought about it objectively. A red-stained hacksaw, blood splatters everywhere, assorted metal scraps, and of course, his own discarded arm, which he'd pinned down and partially dissected. Hey, he needed some inspiration for how to rig the artificial tendons. What better place to look than the source material?

"Leo . . ." Piper seemed at a loss for words.

Jason's face was kind of blotchy as he came forward, like he was pale beneath the flush that was suddenly turning parts of his face red. "Leo . . . tell me you did not cut off your own arm just to replace it with . . . with . . ."

"With a new and improved, much more badass version, that can dead-lift three metric tons, punch through concrete, fire lasers, and unfold to form fit my body with my very own set of robotic armor, complete with flight stabilizers and magnetic shield generators?" asked Leo.

"Yes! Please tell me that!"

"Okay. What I just said."

He saw Jason and Piper's expressions grow confused as they tried to puzzle out what he meant.

"I can only lift 2.85 metric tons," explained Leo. "And while I can punch through concrete, I don't have the lasers up and running . . . yet."

"And the flying robotic armor part?" asked Piper in a squeaky voice.

"Oh, that part was true. Well, mostly. I will admit to having some trouble with the magnetic shield generator," said Leo. "Instead of maintaining a field of charged particles directly around me that adjusts its magnetism to stave off rapidly approaching objects that it considers threats, it has a tendency to . . . uh . . . kind of shoot electron blasts out at those objects, hitting them at 427 miles an hour which causes them to . . . uh, well, explode."

Jason and Piper both stared at him slack jawed.

"Pretty cool, huh? Hey, gimme five!"

AN: I'm not sure if this has been done before, but I was listening to the Borderlands 2 Mechromancer's back-story on YouTube and this sprang into my head.
